Our First Christmas with Mickey…a magical trip on a budget!

I've knocked a couple things off my to do list!!!!

I went to Target this weekend and was SOOOO proud of myself! I walked out the door and only spent $40. :woohoo: I have officially started my CHristmas shopping. I bought my kids each a saucer sled and of course I can't go into Target without checking out the $1 section. :rolleyes1

I found these for the kids for the trip...socks are already washed and packed in their duffel bags!

In addition to some shopping, I also ordered the tickets for the MVMCP! :santa: I saved the $5 shipping and opted for the eTicket which lets you print them on your own. They are printed and packed in the bag so we don't forget them!

I am so excited reading your report. We are taking our DD 2 and DD4 to Disney for Christmas Day and the day after Christmas. They have no idea and the only thing they want "santa" to bring them is "tickets to disney" We are staying off site and staying cheap this go around. This is our first time as a family. DH went about 20 ago and I went about 15 years ago. We are fully prepared fo the CRAZY crowds Christmas day and plan to be there wayy before rope drop. We will take our "trip trip" next year for the big funtime. We are planning to stick to MK those two days just to get our feet wet.

I can't wait to read your report. I hope you have a great time!!! :) I am counting down the weeks as well! :cheer2:

Oh and I forgot to mention that my "to do" list is slowly getting shorter! :yay: I finished the scrapbooks for my daycare families this afternoon and ordered them! Hopefully they arrive before Dec. 2nd in time for our Christmas party! :scared:

Wow that is cheap! I priced just the train for our family of 4 and it was almost $600 plus we'd need to rent a car. It's still saves us more if we drive although my kids would love to ride the train! Maybe for our next not so low budget trip. ;)

I figured if I added gas price and possibly a night's stay at a hotel there or back, the $214 (round trip) is just about the same. I know your kids would love the train! Maybe you could do that one day! I know I enjoyed it. I put a few details about our Amtrak experience in my 2011 cruise TR (didn't know if you checked it out or not)

I love your Target Disney finds!!!

:welcome:

What a magical Christmas surprise!!!! They are going to be so excited! I can't wait to hear all about your first trip at Christmas!

Hi Kim - Happy 5 weeks! Like all the stuff from Target. Sounds like everything is coming together nicely! - Sea :cool1:

I saw all that cute stuff at my Target too. Unfortunately, no socks big enough for my girls...

Glad to hear you have gotten some things crossed off your list!

What day did you decide to go to MVMCP? And I love all the stuff from Target!
We decided on Tuesday...actually DH suggested Tuesday since it's the half way mark of our trip.

I'm under 4 weeks now!!!
24 days until my first day off work for vacation
25 days until we are on the road
26 days until we are checking in at ASMovies!!!

I am drawn to that little dollar section at Target but I have to watch myself or this isn't going to be a budget trip anymore! ;)

I started packing a bit more this weekend!!!! All of our summer clothes are packed since the weather is chilly now. I also packed the toiletry bag this morning except for the last minute items to throw in at the last minute.

A few weeks back I went to the Disney Store Outlet with my mom and sister and picked up a few things for the trip.

They are all washed and packed in our bags!

The Guide to the Magic Books I ordered for the kids arrived Friday! They are so much nicer than I thought they would be and the kids are so excited to use them on our trip! They were supposed to be a surprise but we were playing outside when the UPS guy came so of course I had to show it to them.

I'm anxiously waiting for some Mickey mail to show up in my mailbox.

Love all the socks and the shirts, Kim!
Good for you with getting stuff crossed off your list. :thumbsup2 Right now I'm too scared to make a list because of how much stuff needs to be on it! :upsidedow

I'm a list maker but it can be very overwhelming to actually look at it all staring back at you! My trouble is that for every item I check off I seem to add another thing I need to do so it's not getting any shorter!!!

I know exactly what you mean. Unfortunately, when I cross one thing off, I usually add two!

Oh you are so lucky to be going for the Christmas festivities! I have always wanted to do that, but haven't yet. Maybe next year I can plan my Disney at Christmas trip. ASMo is a cute resort and the kids are going to love it. I loved the theming and it was like being in a page in a storybook with the larger than life size characters. How exciting it's almost December!

:welcome: It's taken me 10 years to finally be able to pull off going at Christmas! It will happen for you!!!

It's not exactly how I dreamed it but I'm beyond excited! In my head I had us flying instead of driving and staying at Poly or WL with bunk beds for the kids but I'm willing to compromise with my wallet just to see Disney at Christmas!

Mickey Mail! :woohoo:
It starts feeling more "real" once you get that doesn't it? Oh yeah, we're going to Disneyworld!
