Our Family's 2nd Trip to Disney World-Pre-Trippie

Yay for Lazy-DIS-days!! :woohoo:

I like your CS choices! We have a couple of those on our list as well. I didn't care for the food at Pizza Planet, either did Savannah (salad & pizza) BUT she liked the atmosphere and griped a bit last trip when we didn't go there again. He'll love all the Toy Story theming!

Have you looked at any of the resort CS? They have some unique menu's as well, when I thought we would still be doing the QSDP, I had us down for Contempo Cafe and also Mara at AKL! You are right about not having to have burgers and pizza all week, there are some great choices out there! :)

You are definitely right about that one Karen! You definitely have to research some of these places that serve far more than burgers, pizza, and chicken fingers!!!!

NJ has just been upgraded from a winter storm warning to another Blizzard warning!!!!!!!!! The Nor'Easter is supposed to intesify around midday and pound us with an additional 8-12 inches through this evening. Winds are supposed to be about 40-50 mph, so they are encouraging everyone to stay off of the roads. Right now it is calm outside and a little rainy-always calm before the storm right? The rain actuallly washed off last nights accumulation off of our cars and the path we dug from the weekend's storm on our patio. We still have about 2 feet of snow out there- now add 8 to 12 inches to that mess- ugh :headache:!!!!!!!! Everything should be done with before midnight tonight- but the roads are going to be a mess!!!! Hurry spring and summer HURRY!!!

Omg- I was just on AllEars.Net and they had some interesting news.

One- The Electric Light Parade is coming back this summer and replacing SpectroMagic. There will also be another fireworks show replacing Wishes

Two- They are EXPANDING Fantasyland- groundbreaking 2010-2013. Ok, here is the worst part---- they are getting rid of Toontown totally. I was soooo upset when I read this because Austin loved the littled houses of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Goofy's barnstormer, etc. Now all we have is pictures to look at from our last trip :-(. So from reading, this is what I gathered. They are doing this expansion because of the new Harry Potter thing at Universal- to keep in competition. Toontown is closing, and the characters are being moved to Expo. Hall for the meet and greets. Dumbo is expanding and becoming two levels (to my understanding to accommodate more guests at a time because it is sooo popular). There is also going to be a big top tent with different things in it, and goofys barnstormer will stay, but will have a Timothy theme from Dumbo. Pooh's playful spot is being refurbished and with have a hundred acre woods for a meet and greet (I think I read that right). They will be creating different areas for each of the princesses, including some kind of new ride for the Little Mermaid. The new Pixie Hollow will be the final phase, and that will be finished by 2013. I have also heard that the walt disney railroad will be closed for a few months. I have read that they have already started groundbreaking, but stuff wouldn't start to close till fall- but you can't belive EVERYTHING you read.

So, i don't think Fantasyland will be shut down during our visit guys- the area they are working on would be toontown and pooh's playful spot and beyond. My guess is that there may be screens there so you cannot see what is going on. Dumbo will probably stay for a while until it has to be moved. Remember, this is a 3 year expansion, so I can't see nearly all this stuff being shut down while we there- as we are all going very early on.

Although I am VERY disappointed about Toontown closing (still hoping we'll be able to see it one last time in September), I think the new Princess land's will be an exciting edition to Fantasyland. The funny part is, it will just give me an excuse of not to rush another trip, and maybe hold off about 2 years when everything is finished!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am, however, excited to see the Mainstreet Electric Lights Parade is returning. I seen that when I was about 7. And I am sure whatever fireworks spectacular that they will choose- this is Disney- it will be a great one :wizard:!!!!!

See? This is why I go to Disney as often as I do ---- it is always changing!!! Normal people just don't get that!! Ugh! So, Janine....I've been thinking of you guys.....how are you holding up in all this snow? Everyone safe and sound???

Hey Ann!!! It has changed in one way or another everytime I went back so I can definitely side with you on that one!!!!

The blizzard is finally over- and they closed my dept. at work again today, so I am stuck at home. Although I think I would rather be at work because I am really getting sick of dh right now :scared1:!!!!!!

OMG, do you know when in 2010 they are starting? I will be so dang bummed out if they have it closed in September. I have not made it to Toontown in 2 years and was hoping to be able to see it this year.

And replacing Spectro and Wishes? What are they thinking!?!?! I'm all for change but this freaks me out. :scared1:

Ohio Disney Lover- I was really bummed out too when I heard the news !!!!! But, I have heard soooo many different things about this. I have heard a lot about them starting sometime in the fall- not sure how true this is. I also heard they are replacing Spectro/Wishes for the summer- not sure if this will continue for the fall or not.

I'm sure whatever Disney does- it will be great :lovestruc!!!

Ok, I am back in business here!!!!! Although we still have well over 2 feet of snow here, I went to work today, and the roads are pretty much clear. The bad part is, there is another Nor'Easter heading our way Tuesday night, and we are supposed to get 6-12 inches!!!!! Now, NJ usually has like a couple of inches here and there throughout the winter, nothing big. This will be our 3rd major snowstorm (counting the one towards the end of December '09). Sooooooo sick of snow !!!!!

On a brighter note :wizard:, I made some t-shirts tonight!!!!! I bought our first set of tshirts yesterday from AC Moore's after I dropped Austin off at my Grandma's house. I bought a white one for each of us, although, I am pissed because I just noticed that Austin's has something on the collar, so I have to hunt for the receipt to exchange it. I did make Bill and I's though- so much fun!!!! It is a picture of an airplane with Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy in it, flying over WDW and it says "We're on our way to Disney World" on it!!!!! It is adorable, we are going to be wearing those our flight down!!!!!

For all of you's that have made tshirts before- (ahem Pam and Karen heheheheh) do you prewash them- because I did not. I wanted the material to look new when we wore them. Not that it matters- we will wear each one once in Disney, and probably around the house once we get back if they fade.
Just wondering.

Hello, just saw this post, I did not pre wash the t shirts and they did just fine. I didn't want to wash them either. I didn't have a problem with not pre washing at all.

Ugh!!! For all of that snow, huh :scared1:

Ok, it's been four, count them, FOUR days since Janine has posted. Do you all think she's buried in snow yet??? :rotfl:

Janine--hope you and the family are safe and sound with all the crazy weather you are having!!

Fantasyland Expansion: I heard September is when it is to begin. They are going to begin in the areas that do not have any attractions in the way (behind the scenes areas and such). They will have to be shifting quite a few behind the scenes locations so thoughts are they are going to begin with those areas first.

Everything will stay open as it can. Toontown Fair should be open while we all go in September!! I sure hope it is true!

There are some great threads about it and blog postings out there were you can read more about.

Janine......seriously now.....it's been a while since you've posted and I'm sure I'm not the only one who is concerned about you. Is everything ok? Please let us know or PM me! I'm worried!!!

WHAT THE HOURS ARE OUT????? WHERE WHERE WHERE?????

AND OH JANINE WHERE OH WHERE ARE YOU??? WE ARE ALL VERY WORRIED ABOUT YOU!!!!

I do hope everything is ok! :wizard:

Pam, go to the calendar on the WDW site. You will have to choose the Sept. 2010 pull down menu and then you will see only the 1st of Sept. listed. Click ON Sept. 1st and then you can click NEXT DAY to go through each of the days. You can do this on all the park calendars.

Here is the MK link, just to get you started. Just click NEXT DAY to go through the calendar...

I did this last night. It's awesome because you can print each day on it's own page. Great for planning!!!

Hi Everyone!!!!!

I am sooooo sorry I haven't posted in like two weeks!!!

Yes, everything is fine!!!!!!!! I have just been super busy- especially with my job (). So I have some exciting news. I currently work as an accounting clerk in the finance dept. at a local company. Well, my boss's boss pulled me into his office a few weeks ago and let me in that they are opening another ACCOUNTANT'S position, and that they basically want to promote me to it. Well, I applied for it, and although it has not yet been announced, all fingers are pointed to me that I am getting it!!!! So, I will be jumping from hourly to salary and will have the official "accountant" title now!!!!!!!

So, for like a small second, I had said to Bill that maybe we should put our trip off till next year- but then I got back on and started reading all of the excitement on these boards, so I don't think we will be putting it off!!!!!!

That is GREAT that the park hours are out- I am going to hop over there now!!!!! Hmmm.... will it be free dining tomorrow?

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!! That's wonderful Janine! :woohoo: I'm glad you checked in, a lot can change in a couple weeks around here! Did you know that you've been abandoned and everyone is going to ASMU now?!?! :lmao:

Oh, Karen that is too funny! But sadly enough.... true! Yes, we will be at ASMu, I had to go with that for the suites! But we're still all going to be meeting up in the park!!!!!!

Glad to hear that everything is ok, we were worried about you for a little while there! And awesome news on your position!!
