I know this is late, but I just discovered this forum and wanted to share my story after reading many others…

Last May, for a graduation present from my wife (as much to herself as to me, though) we went to WDW.
I can’t remember the exact date, though I do remember it being early. We were in line at DHS waiting for the gates to open. We were on the far left side where it looked the least crowded. The gates (turnstyles) opened up and we proceeded through. As my wife made it through in front of me, she was stopped by a CM. I came up and was a bit perplexed and worried, hoping nothing was wrong. Keep in mind I didn’t realize about the “YoAMD” campaign… or at least was still so tired I didn’t. ;)
The CM told us we were “family of the day” and proceeded to tell us of what it entailed. We were taken to the other side of the ropes where the crowd had formed before the park had officially opened. We were sat on a park bench on main street and told how we would be opening the park that day and be involved in the opening show. How cool! The CM then asked which ride we would like to ride first and we said (of course) “tower of terror!”.
We were put in a car and said a few words throughout, such as who/where we are and from.
We did the show and said some words that I can’t recall, which were to be the opening words for the day. We were then driven off (pictures of car below). The car took us down to the Tower of Terror where we were met by our CM who rushed us inside where we then rode the ride by ourselves twice. Once we had ridden the ride we were given a free photo and frame of our ride experience by the CM. As she walked us out of the attraction she gave us some all day fastpass vouchers. We wound up keeping 2 of them and framed them along with our HT photo.

The CM had taken our camera and used it to take pictures of us throughout our experience. I thought that was really cool. Guess it was a good day to wear that Mickey shirt after all, huh?
