We just got back- We flew allegiant air, they had an awesome special from Worcester -Sanford for $39 each way...we were a bit nervous about trying them out, but,no problems at all!
The airports were smaller and easier to get through,
We got a great rate at Enterprise for a mid size car for 15 days for $249- used entertainment book codes- highly recommend their company, no problems at all- just don't be conned by the"insurance song and dance" -bring your own card with you... in fact they offered us an "upgrade for $20 a week- my dh of course feigned surprise and said"you mean you'll give me $20 for a better car?!?" haha that threw the guy a bit...turns out we got an "upgrade car" anyway, they had no more of the size we'd reserved...another haha....
:rotfl2:
took less than an hour to get to WDW- it was great- I'd do it this way again in a minute!(but I'll have to wait till next year... :lmao:

That is great news! We are flying allegiant in August and was a bit nervous with them. I'm glad you liked their service! Can I ask...did you pay the $10 reserve seating fee? I didn't and I'm hoping that my family can sit together...At least 1 or 2 kids with one parent and 1 with another...Doesn't have to be a complete row..Thanks for the help!

Disneynutbsv - When DH, DD and I flew Allegiant in October I didn't pay the $10 to reserve seats, instead they assigned seats for us when we checked in and that didn't cost us anything.

We had a great experience with Allegiant in December. It's the only nonstop flight in our area so that was wonderful.

Thanks for the info on Allegiant out of Worcester. We are flying on Allegiant out of Worcester in September. We didn't pay the extra $10 for reserved seating so our fare is $59 each way. What a great price.

Allegiant is coming to Central Texas this spring / summer (Killeen, Tx). But, they are only flying to Vegas. I was so disappointed.

they are still quite expensive from DSM considering we would have to pay so much for a rental car or limo/van instead of ME for free

that is why I am not going to fly with them

besides the fact that they hike their prices up HUGE like 279 one way at peak times...

I need a REAAAALLLY good deal from DSM to justify not using ME

a 59 fare would do it for me...
so far the cheapest I have ever seen was 89 one way, well add tak and fees and you are well over 200 anyway..
just not fair!!

We flew Allegiant Air in January out of Portsmouth, NH and they were fantastic. We didn't pay the extra $10 either. They assign seats when you check in. It's really nice having a non-stop flight. And the extra advantage of going through the small airports is great also. No need to get there 1.5 - 2 hours early. I've already booked them again for our next trip.

I just talked to an Allegiant Air customer service agent about paying the extra $10 per person per segment for our trip. I had concerns about not being able to sit with my children and wanted clarification. The agent said that the area in red (if you book online you will eventually get to this screen) that was unavailable to choose for your seat assignment was reserved for families with children and passengers that needed special accomodations. She helped me with finishing my online form and added the ages of my children onto my reservation so Allegiant already has it in their system and know we are travelling with children. She said that Allegiant will give people their seat assignments 2 hrs before your flight is scheduled to leave. Seats are assigned on a first come first served basis and they will try to accomodate people sitting together as best they can. She recommended getting to the airport 2 hrs ahead even though my children's ages are already in the system. Just wanted to share what I discovered.
In regards to fees I booked $89 fares each way for 4 people and paid $783.60. ($121.28 were taxes and fees the fares cost $662.32) I know Sanford/Orlando doesn't use ME, but a direct flight to Orlando is time saved for us.

Hello from another Iowan!

We are flying out of Des Moines in June. Allegiant was the best I could find for rates and we had a really good past experience so I'm using them again. We are renting an SUV to get us to Disney and returning it to the Alamo center at the Dolphin the next morning. It's $50 but far cheaper than any other option.

Edited to add: Boy, I'm glad I booked with Allegiant earlier this week. My flight home was $119, today it is $179. It makes me feel better about not getting it booked when it was $89.

You do know that Allegiant offers $21.00 pp transfers to the Disney area? While it's not free like ME is now, It can be a reasonable way of getting to and from Disney.

In regards to the fare hike at busy times, What airline doesn't do this! Try Southwest, Song or JetBlue during Presidents week or any of the spring break weeks. There are no $49 fares then.

No doubt. The flight I was looking at on American went from $1200 to almost $2000 over night.

Since we have 5 people, it was cheaper to rent a car overnight than do the transfers.

I hate to fly so the non-stop flight really made it a lot easier on me.

Wow, that is a much better rate than anything I found for June.

Can you explain that $21.00pp transfer to me. DS and DGF are traveling Allegiant Air Worcester to O/S in March. They are 23 and I think they are too young to rent a car? Not sure? Anyway, we are trying to figure out how to get them to WDW from O/S and BACK to O/S?? Any ideas?? Thanks

On Allegiant's website, as part of the ticket purchase process is the option of booking transportation. There are several locations and one is the LBV area (Disney) They offer there both to and from the airport for $21.00 pp.

I'm not sure if the website will let you book transfers without the purchase of a ticket but if you have already purchased tickets, I would call Allegiant to see if you can add on the transfers.

Wow- I didn't know about the 21 pp ride over to Disney- that's a good deal, mears from MCO was like 17pp.... I never paid the extra to get the seats assigned either, just got there pretty early, and they were really nice about putting people together- I like to be there early anyway, and settled, better than a lsat minute rush, and this way beats SWA and standing in the line and wondering stuff..... I'm hoping to use this service again next year! Honestly,I thought car rental prices were equal to MCO anyway, and we don't enjoy the Disney bus system anymore...
