Since I started planning I was excited to create a TR of our adventure. We were in the world for only two days with a previous stop in Tampa to see the Yankees! We had a wonderful time!

We stayed at the Dolphin and have to say, we were a little disappointed with our overall accommodations. Our room smelled like stale smoke, but we didn't complain as when we arrived we were very tired and knew we weren't going to be at the hotel very much during our visit.

Day One - Magic Kingdom and Epcot

Our day started very early. We left the hotel at 7:15am and caught the bus to MK. The bus ride was pretty short. We purchased our tickets in the hotel beforehand (one day park hopper, cost $245 w/ tax) and had an easy time getting into the parks.

Our entrance into MK was breathtaking. I was a little bit emotional as we walked down Main Street and got our first glimpse of the castle. It brought back so many wonderful childhood memories that I was just overwhelmed. The CM greeters were out with their large mickey hands which was very exciting for DH and I. It was like we were being welcomed into such a warm and happy place.

The first thing we did was take some photopass photos and shots of our own:

Tink!

My only regret of this trip was not prepurchasing the Photo CD. I didn't realize how great the pictures were going to be and the many borders I could use to create great pics. Oh well...lesson learned for next time!!

First stop was Main Street Bakery to grab some croissants and coffee. Then it was off to Tomorrowland for a classic - Space Mountain! We were on SM by 8:15 am lol. You definitely don't need coffee in the morning if you are on SM at 8:15am :rotfl: Talk about a wake up!

By 9:30am we had gone on all the rides in Tomorrowland we wanted to:
Buzz Light Year
Stitch (some people hate, we loved it!)
Laugh Floor
Racetrack
Space Mountain

Taking advantage of EMH, even just a little bit was fantastic for us. Even on a busy holiday weekend, the lines were very short, no wait over 10 minutes.

DH scored over 23,000 points on BLY - He loved this ride!

We saw this little guy on our way to Tomorrowland and a bunch of his family members around the Kingdom.

We got there so early we saw a few characters coming out of the gate.

Next up... Fantasyland , Frontierland and Adventureland :woohoo:

Nice start, I'll read even if you are a Yankees fan! (Red Sox fan here!):goodvibes

It is great being at MK so early, you can really get so much done so fast!

lol thank you!

yes and I never would have known about EMH if it wasn't for the boards!!:disrocks:

Sounds like a whirlwind trip. :wizard: I'd be interested in hearing more about your hotel accommodations... we're thinking about trying Swan for our next trip, and have never been there before. Certainly *all* the rooms don't smell like stale smoke. Were there any positives to outweigh that negative?

The best part about the accommodations was the convenience. We were able to get out and in easy which greatly helped our day. Also, getting the tickets in the hotel before heading out was also easy.

When we checked in there was a very disgruntled man  ranting at the manager on duty. I was able to eavesdrop a bit :rolleyes1 and apparently his first room also smelled like smoke, someone in his family has asthma so they had to be moved. There was also a problem with obtaining and moving a fridge. Overall, I believe they had moved their rooms 4 times including the new room they were about to get when we were checking in. Perhaps we got their first room. :sad2: We did have a good view. We could see Paris from our room and the lake and the hotel complex itself. I had called ahead to try to get a king room since it was just DH and I, but they said they could not guarantee a king room. When we got there they didn't have any king rooms, but offered to put us in a king room the next night. We didn't feel like moving, and we are newlyweds, so a smaller bed was ok ;) we just used the other one to spread out our luggage.

Also, the heavenly bed was a plus. The heavenly shower also was nice. DH is rather tall, so he likes a lot of shower space. He was happy. They also had Bath and Body Work products in the room that were great. Also, the coffee machine worked great and DH and I had our Starbucks fix Sun morning in the comfort of our room. The lobby was also very pretty. It was a great excitement starter when we arrived.

Overall, it was ok. We wouldn't stay there again partly b/c we want to try out other hotels.

:)

After completing all of the rides in Tomorrowland we ventured to Fantasyland. We did:

Snow White - I was very impressed by the mother and young daughter behind us. The mother talked calmly about the story to the young girl, since it's a little scary for them, and the girl accepted it all and did not get upset or scared at all.

Peter Pan's Flight - One of my all time favorite rides! I will always love getting in the flying sailboat and flying over the London scene. To me, that is so magical.

Mickey's Philharmagic - What a fantastic suprise this was! We thought the 3-D show was wonderful. It was just the right length of time too. Enough time for us to rest our feet and take in a fabulous example of Disney Magic. :wizard:

We did skip It's a Small World. We'd both been on it before and had to cut some things out due to time crunch. DH isn't a big fan and I was just on it a few years ago.

After that we head over to Frontierland which we skipped right through. The line for Thunder mountain was too long for our taste and I did not want to get wet on Splash Mtn. The weather was a little cold and rainy and I didn't feel like being damp all day. We saw people come off soaked so we headed right over to Adventure land.

First stop: POTC!!

We were so impressed by all of the wonderful updates. We are huge fans of the movie so this was awesome for us!

We had a fun time poking around the gift shop at the end, but saved all our shopping for Sunday.

We started to head back to Main St. to have lunch and see the parade. On the way we say these guys hanging out for a character meet and greet:

On our walk back to Main Street we caught the end of the show in front of the castle. We hadn't planned on seeing it so it was a treat to see some of it.

Up next...our mickey ears selection, lunch @ Casey's Corner, and the parade.

The flowers on main street are beautiful. You have to be from the North to appreciate flowers right now.

Great other pictures too. Thanks for sharing with us.

Great trip report so far! I'd love to be able to slip away to Disney for a day or so right now...I'm having severe withdrawl. Can't wait to hear whats next! :thumbsup2

Love your TR so far! I think it's so great you and your hubby went to WDW before kids...I wish we would have done that! ......I can't believe all you've done in a short time over such a busy time!! I'm impressed...do you have any huge crowd pics?

Can't have a trip without the ears!!!

100_1227-1.jpg

DH was going to get the Groom's hat but it was too small for his head lol. He went with the Scorcer Mickey Ears instead, which everyone back home thought was hilarious.

Then we went to Guest Relations for our pins!

Next we had two Grand Slams and lemonade at Casey's which included a foot long hot dog and fries. They had cheese in a pump - which is just junk food heaven- so we made ourselves some cheesefries and hung out on a bench to wait for the parade.

Thank you! Our little trip was exactly that - a slip away from reality.

Thanks!! It really was a romantic time. Strolling the countries in Epcot and watching Wishes...really wonderful for us! Have pics for that later! We didn't really hit any big crowds. You will get a good idea from my parade pics.

My wife and I spent our honeymoon in the World 10 years ago tomorrow, 3/28. So last weeks trip was not quite the second honeymoon - my parents treated us to the trip as a Christmas gift and it was our kids first trip - DS7 and DD4. They loved it. I hope to have a trip report together soon.

What a wonderful Christmas gift! I'll be mentioning that to my folks :rotfl:

I will look for your TR!!

First, the food at Casey's was great and we recharged well. While were eating a father came up to me and asked where I got my Mickey bride ears b/c his daughter saw them and now he had to buy them lol. I could only smile at this very familiar father/daughter relationship, and pointed him in the direction of Main St (hang a left).

Now... for the parade!! We were able to find a place on Main St. easily. Everything was roped off already so we ducked under and were quite comfortable.

Now for the pics!!!

There was a final float with donald, daisy, goofy and minnie, but I couldn't get a good shot!

Next post - Epcot Adventures!!

As an aside - I got my photopass CD today!! woo hoo! However, the rental office has it b/c UPS never really "tries" to get into the building- The FedEx guys are way better at breaking in lol :rotfl:

Sorry for not completing this TR - we had a fam med emergency :(

Then I got pre-occupied with planning our next trip!! But, I don't want to go on that trip without having finished this TR :rotfl:

After the parade in MK we rode the monorail over to Epcot. This was fantastic. We loved seeing the hotels on the way!

We rode Mission Space, Nemo, Figment and Soarin. We waited entirely too long to ride Soarin' so it kind of ruined the ride for us. It is talked about so much and is so popular that we thought the posted wait time of one hour wouldn't be so bad since we didnt know when we would be back (little did we know, we'd be back in three months time lol). So, the real problem came when it actually took 1 hour and 45 minutes to get on the ride. Our feet were not the same after that wait time lol. All in all we just chalked it up to "part of the experience". We loved Nemo and Mission Space was our favorite (we did the Green version since we are not fans of "spinning").

We also took a visit to the Kodak Gallery and made some great b&w shapshots :)

Here are our Epcot shots!!

We had churros and margaritas in Mexico where we got a great view of our hotel across the lake!

We ate CS in China and it was fantastic. We were pleasantly surprised.

Then we stopped in Germany to get some tasty chocolate treats :yay:

We walked all the way around the world and were amazed by the fantastic architecture. Every time we hit a new country we felt like we were really in that country. The amazing magic of Disney. :wizard:

After going around the world showcase we took the monorail over to the transportation center and then took the ferry back to MK. This was a nice trip to rest our feet after our trek around the world. We also got to see the light ups in front of the Grand Floridian.

We got back to MK to see wishes right in front of the castle. It was magnificent. Afterwards we just strolled back down Main Street, went to some of the shops and then caught our bus back to the Dolphin.

Up next... Downtown Disney :)

My DH & I were down in Oct for our honeymoon. Did you have any magic moments? We had it happen on the last 2 days of our trip. We just entered AK with friends (FL residents) heading to get fastpasses for the safari when a CM pulled me aside & asked where my new hubby was. He said he was bringing us to the front of the Safari!! Cool! ...and the CM let all 4 of us on! Then on our last day (just the 2 of us), we had just said goodbye to Epcot & ducked into the Art of Disney (new store towards the front). As we looked at the paintings & drawings a CM was talking with us about our trip & wedding & then said he'd be right back. He came back with a drawing of Mickey in a tux & Minnie in a wedding gown holding hands, with our names & wedding date at the bottom!! I melted! It was the sweetest thing. We have it framed in our living room now.

LOve the resport. The night shots of you guys at Epcot are great! I remember those bride ears fondly myself! It was just a few years ao when I was running around Disney wearing them. Hope to hear more about your trip soon. :goodvibes
