OK my head's completely mush after all this half board talk and I've sat tonight looking at all the restaurants we want to eat in etc, prices etc to try and figure out whether or not it would be worth my while upgrading from plus to premium vouchers. I think I've got it sussed, but was hoping some of you could have a look and let me know if this will work please.

Right, there are 2 adults, 2 children (and an infant that will eat off our plates). We're there for 5 nights/6 full days and this is what I've come up with so far (assuming we upgrade to the premium vouchers)

Sunday - Steakhouse lunchtime, total €90 - pay with 2x adult vouchers + extra €2 in cash (leaves us 2x€15 kids vouchers)

Monday - Cafe Mickey lunchtime, total €93 - pay with 2x adult and 1x child voucher (leaves us with 1x€15 kids voucher)

Tuesday - Agrabah Cafe lunchtime, total €60 - Pay with 1x adult and 1x child voucher (leaves us with 1x€44 adult and 1x€15 child vouchers)

Wednesday - Auberge lunchtime, use a voucher each

Thursday - Inventions before 7pm so kids eat free - Pay with 2xadult vouchers (leaves us with 2x€15 child vouchers)

So, that's our 5 main meals that we officially would have vouchers for, but we would have 1x€44 adults voucher and 6x€15 child vouchers left.

I've not decided what to do with these, but it would probably be a couple of takeaway meals from Annettes and probably a lunch on the Friday before we leave aswell.

So can anyone find any flaws in my plan? Or do you think that would work?

Brilliant plan. You can give your leftover vouchers to me!:lmao:

Is Inventions definitely kids eat free before 7? That's great.

I read that in the restaurant reviews. That was when mummyal ate there on boxing day, so I hope the offer will still be on. Can anyone clarify that for us?

I wonder if it would apply for you because it's still the Christmas season - might not apply for us because the Christmas season is over when we go.

Ahhh maybe. In that case I should maybe jiggle it about a bit as the christmas period ends on Tuesday, so I'll make sure we eat there on Monday or Tuesday just to make sure. I am really tempted to go for it

We got our kids eating free at Inventions between 6 and 7pm, BUT this was being advertised as between Dec 12th and 19th. Don't know if it is still happening in Jan.

I am almost certain I will. I've explained it to DH and he says it's up to me. I said in another post, I don't want to be patting my pockets and panicking if the kids ask for another drink with their meal. I worked out that it would cost me £250 ish in total for hb premium but that they would be worth about £350 face value. The way the prices are, I think you could easily spend an extra 100 on drinks, beers, desserts etc.

Mummyal ate at Inventions on 18th December. Looks like that might be an offer that has expired.:sad1:

Are you sure your be able to get away with not using a voucher each in each meal as im sure your meant to present your vouchers before you are seated.

oh look :lmao: What have you started ...I never thought about dividing them up :rotfl2:

No I know that I am very happy with upgrading today especially with bad exchange rate I got on my cash today...So If it works out better for your family too ....Go For It pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

Yeah that's what we're thinking too. Why do men do that though? I've been trying to speak to OH about it and he just says "Yeah whatever you want" :rotfl: :confused3 like that's what I want to hear :rotfl2:

The other thing I was thinking was that the kids have got some money (quite a bit actually - more than I'd have liked) that they were given for christmas, so they can buy all their own bits and pieces, pins and souvenirs and the likes, so we don't really have anything other than food and drink to spend our money on, so we may aswell I think ;)

I thought you could divide them up. Perhaps you can't. They can be used for their monetary value, so if your meal came to 90e, it would be crazy to pay with 2 adult and 2 child vouchers. Can anyone confirm this?

Proir to what someone recently said i always assumed you had to give in your vouchers per person before you was seated and if you had to pay more you would be told when you get the bill.

Maybe you could phone up and ask, because if you cant divide up the vouchers then that could end up a problem maybe?

Doh! She posted on boxing day :lmao: Told you my brain had gone to mush :rotfl:

People have been reporting being given vouchers back at Cafe Mickey etc because the meal hasn't come to the full value. That's what got me thinking about this in the first place :lmao: If I hadn't read that I probably wouldn't have bothered and would've stuck with the HB plus

I wouldn't have thought of it either if folk hadn't started going on about being given vouchers back, and someone had said they wondered if you could make it work as a kind of full board thing, so I made it my mission to find out :lmao:. It's really pickled my brain though. Why they can't just say right this is the HB option and these are the places you can eat at  it would be so much easier.

At Inventions we handed all 4 of our vouchers to the bloke. When it came to pay, he kept the 2 x adult vouchers for the food, 1 x child voucher for 2 beers, and gave us the other child voucher back and told us to use it somewhere else if we wanted.

In Cafe Mickey, we again handed all four vouchers over, and the lady came back with one of our kids vouchers and said we could keep that and just pay the 40 cents that we owed (so 2 x adult and 1 x child used, plus 40c).

Only 1 person has said that though.

I would be careful, just incase you get there and they do not allow you to do that.

This is the first time i have heard about that happening tbh.

Someone definitely said you could recently coz that's what got you and I thinking this way last night. It also definitely says on the half board meal plan that you can use them to the monetary value in most fine dining restaurant. It says no change will be given, but like you, I would assume that you would only use so many vouchers. It doesn't say anywhere that they all have to be used together.

I'll definitely ask before I upgrade. Still not 100% but I'm sure I will, but will definitely double check before I do as even though we love our food I wouldn't fancy being made to eat at all the fancy places for our full stay

You are right, Emma, I think it is definitely worth checking out before paying up. I might phone tomorrow. Trouble is, you can get conflicting answers, depending on which CM you get through to.

Yeah I guess it might just depend on who serves you and if they want to do that for you.

I wonder where they would stand though if they wouldn't let you do that and you argued it though, because it doesn't state anywhere that you can't do it that way.

I was almost certain I was going to upgrade and you've put me back into 2 minds now :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
