We just got back from our fantastic trip last night (well, this morning! 2:15 a.m.) and I'm really wanting to start my first trip report to try to keep those Disney blues at bay.

96Xymp9l.jpg

I'm Amy. I'm 32 and work as a sales manager at a major US retailer. My favorite color is purple and I love nail polish, board games, Broadway musicals, and a good guacamole.

That tall guy is my husband, Thomas. He's 34 and works as an after-school program coordinator. He loves Star Wars, roller coasters, computer games, and peanut butter anything.

Once upon a time...
We met in college and got married in 2013 after TEN years of dating. Yes. Ten years.
Anyway, when we were discussing planning our honeymoon, the idea of going to Disney World was the first thing to come to mind that really made sense. Most of the other couples I knew went on cruises or booked all-inclusive resorts somewhere tropical, and while those sounded lovely, that just wasn't us. But when I came to the DISboards and started reading trip reports about Disneymoons, I knew THAT was what we wanted to do. So we did, and it was beautiful and magical and wonderful.

Fast forward about three years, and I really had the Disney itch again. We managed a family trip to Disneyland when we were visiting California last summer, which was great but really just whet my appetite for another WDW visit. So on Election Day last year, with all the turmoil in the country weighing heavily on both of us, I felt the need for escapism and got on the MDE app and started pricing vacations for the 1,237th time. But then I asked Thomas, "what if, instead of Christmas presents...we put our money toward another Disney vacation?" OF COURSE. After we talked more, we decided to forgo Valentine's Day and anniversary presents to pay for a trip in the spring of 2017. We decided on Sunday 4/9 through Friday 4/14.

Saturday, 4/8: SPACE CAR and pre-trip pixie dust?

When we were pricing our trip, we decided it would be a better idea to rent a car and drive down rather than fly. The drive is 9.5 hours according to Google Maps, so we reserved a compact car from our local Enterprise branch and went to pick it up at 9:30 on the morning before we left...

Well, we arrived at Enterprise to see there was a line and only two employees working! I was a little annoyed, since DH was due at work by 10:00. When it was our turn, the lady apologized and said they usually only have around three reservations on a typical Saturday, but because of a combination of kids being on spring break and a convention nearby, they were swamped. On top of that, she said the delivery of compact cars they had been expecting never arrived(!!) and they didn't have any available compact cars. She offered us a pickup truck, which I quickly refused. Even though it was just the two of us, I had planned on storing our luggage and some groceries in the car with us, not in the bed of a pickup for 600+ miles! She said she completely understood and made a great effort to call around to other Enterprise branches in the area to try to find another car for us. In the meantime, my husband left for work. She finally found a minivan at another branch about 15 minutes away and asked me if I wanted her to go pick it up for us. I typically don't like driving larger vehicles, but my husband drives a minivan, so even though it was not what I preferred, I agreed. The line was still long and I didn't want to keep either of us tied up longer than necessary. She agreed and grabbed her keys, ready to leave, when a man and his young son in line stopped us. The dad said he had tried to reserve a minivan for his family of five, but there hadn't been one available, so he had reserved a Chevy Tahoe instead. He offered to take the minivan instead and let us take the Tahoe, which was ready and waiting in the parking lot. I figured someone should get the vehicle they wanted, anyhow, and what's the difference between driving a huge SUV or a huge minivan? So I agreed and took the Tahoe!

Now, I drive a used 2003 Corolla that doesn't even have automatic windows. My husband's van is an '03 as well and doesn't have any bells or whistles. So imagine my surprise when I climbed into this huge 2017 SUV and it was basically a SPACE CAR. Guys, it had a touch screen and bluetooth speakers and rear view camera and individual temperature control and and and... Literally everything about our SPACE CAR amazed me. But the best thing about SPACE CAR? It should have cost us more than $800 more than the compact we reserved, but they kept us at our compact rate. That was just the first of lots of pixie dust on our trip!

Sunday, 4/9: In which I underestimated the amount of time we would spend on the road

Between excitement and the fact that our first FP+ was for Star Tours at 3:15, I shook my husband awake at about 4:30 a.m. Honestly, I had planned on getting up earlier, but that didn't work out. Anyhow, we showered, dressed, packed up our SPACE CAR and hit the road at about 6:00. As I said, Google Maps estimated a 9.5 hour trip. We were already behind schedule. I drove the first half of the trip(ish) and we switched drivers at around 11:45. We listened to Disney, show tunes, and podcasts via SPACE CAR'S bluetooth speakers on the way down, but we also hit some traffic. I also apparently forgot that we are not robots and need to eat and pee and get up to walk around some? At 2:00 I went on and cancelled our FP+s for Hollywood Studios. I couldn't get anythign later, and I knew the park was only open until 9:00 anyhow. I pondered possible plans while DH continued to battle I-95.

We didn't get to All-Star Movies until just after 5:30. Luckily, I had checked in online and had received the email about our room being ready for us. We were able to park SPACE CAR in a big lot sort of near our building, and we walked up to our room. MORE PIXIE DUST, Y'ALL! I had reserved a standard room, but we ended up with a pool view room with a king size bed! 3803 in Mighty Ducks #3!

GbFzx5El.jpg

The only problem with our room was the bathroom door. I'm assuming our room is handicap accessible because of the setup in the bathroom. There was no bathtub, but a shower area with a bench and a drain in the middle of the floor and a curtain to split the shower from the toilet area. The door to the bathroom was a wooden sliding door that looked like it had come off the track? It was impossible to slide close.

17TKZ96l.jpg

We went up to the front desk and told a CM about the door situation so they could fix it for us. They also gave us our Happily Ever After buttons! At this point it was 6:00-ish and we hadn't even eaten dinner. Definitely not worth heading to Hollywood, since we didn't have park hoppers and didn't want to spend one of our five park tickets for less than three hours in a park. So, of course, we decided to do Magic Kingdom instead!! The bus must have known this, because it was waiting right outside as soon as we walked out of the lobby.

sqSdktul.jpg

We didn't have any plans, obviously, because we hadn't planned on doing MK on arrival day! We wandered up Main Street for a bit, then headed to Cosmic Ray's to eat dinner and say hello to an old friend. Good old Sonny still puts on a good show! We mostly spent time walking around and seeing what all had changed in the last four years. We did take a ride on Small World, Pirates, and HM (because it's one of my FAVORITES) and we really enjoyed the RFID interactions on the rides. It was so cool to see our names in the last room on IASWAL and "North Carolina or bust" on our ghost's sign in our doombuggy. I was so unprepared for the evening that I didn't even know Wishes was at 9:00. We had a terrible view, but I still got teary eyed. I was in my favorite place with my favorite person, and we were watching FIREWORKS! It was really beautiful. Lines were still too long for other rides we were interested in, and we had been up for 17 hours, so after Wishes was over we stopped in to some shops in Main Street on the way out. I had to feed my pin addiction and bought a MK 45th anniversary pin and a villain mystery pack that I really liked.

We got back to our room and saw the bathroom door was still not fixed. We had a message on our room phone from the front desk saying someone had come out to check our bathroom door and that they would have a carpenter come look at it in the morning. They offered to move us, but I really liked our room location and definitely didn't want to give it up since it was an upgrade. DH and I were exhausted and agreed to just use the privacy curtain and not worry about the door. We got ready for bed, because the next morning was our Epcot day!!

Monday 4/10: Eating and drinking 'round the world!

We got up on Monday raring to go! We ate a small breakfast in the room because we were planning on making the rounds at Flower and Garden booths and didn't want to fill up too early.

We headed out and, magically, the Epcot bus was waiting for us! I have to say here that this will be a recurring theme in my trip report, and I was VERY impressed with wait times for our buses. I know it was a busy week and Disney was even running some charter buses to help with the crowds, but they were really on top of it.

Anyhow, I had gotten us FEA FP+ for 3:00 in the afternoon, so I couldn't get Soarin' or Test Track. When we got through bag check, we took some pictures at the front, went to buy our Easter eggstravaganza kits, got distracted by pins, THEN got distracted by the butterfly garden, and then finally got in the line for Soarin'. By this point, it was after 10:30, so the wait time was already about an hour. We played the quiz game in line, tried to play some Pokémon Go without running our batteries down too early, and decided we were already getting hungry. Test Track isn't one of our favorite rides, so we decided we would skip it and head straight to the food kiosks.

We didn't have a chance to ride the new Soarin' when we were at DL last summer, so I was excited to see the changes. The film itself was really cool! I was impressed with how it felt like 3D even though we weren't wearing glasses. I wish there had been more temperature/scent changes to go along with it. We got what I thought were decent seats in almost the middle, so I was surprised by the amount of screen distortion from my vantage point and would definitely not want to experience the ride from one edge or the other. Still, I would say I definitely prefer the new Soarin' to the old ride!

We walked out of The Land and headed for the first Flower & Garden booth we could find. DH and I agreed to each get one thing at each of the 15 booths and try each others' selection. Stop #1 was Urban Farm Eats, which was somewhat unfortunate because I was hungry but really wanted a drink from this particular menu. It's not a good idea to drink on a mostly empty stomach, but DH reasoned that we would be headed to the next booth almost immediately and it wouldn't be a big deal. I conceded and ordered the Urban Fairy cocktail while DH got the Urban Mary with pickled green bean. This one was a little bit of a downer for me, since the absinthe taste came through stronger than I expected. The Urban Mary seemed decent, though!

Stop #2 was Northern Bloom in Canada. I ordered the Nanaimo bar parfait and DH had the beef tenderloin tips. I was disappointed in my parfait, which was smaller than I expected and lacked the coconut flavor advertised. DH's tenderloin was yummy! We're not mushroom fans, but we were so hungry and the flavor of the sauce was so good that we ate them anyhow. We spent a little time in Canada searching for the egg, then headed to...

Stop #3, Cider House at the UK pavilion! DH and I both really wanted the pear cider-brined corned beef, so he ordered that and I got the cider flight, which I thought was one of the best values in the whole F&G showcase. We got to try the black cherry, blood orange, and strawberry ciders for $10, and the servings appeared only slightly smaller than the individuals would've been. DH did NOT like the blood orange cider, which he thought tasted and smelled soapy. I liked them all, but the strawberry was both of our favorites. The corned beef was really excellent as well. The meat was unbelievably tender, and I thought all the components went well together. We took a quick look around the pavilion, found the egg, and went to our next spot!

Stop #4 was Fleur de Lys in France. I knew this would be one of the toughest spots because there were so many things I was interested in trying. Ultimately, I chose the tarte a l'Onion Alsacienne and DH surprised me and went with the La Vie En Rose slush! Oh em GEE, y'all. The tarte was beautifully flaky and oniony and delicious! The slush was even more enjoyable than I expected! It was cold and refreshing, had a slightly rosy flavor, and wasn't as sweet as I expected it to be. We were both happy with our selections here!

Stop #5 was Florida Fresh, which was sort of between France and Morocco. I'm a huge sucker for key lime pie, so I went with the key lime tart and DH tried the carne asada. I loved the presentation of the tart, which had a cute white and milk chocolate butterfly on top! It was refreshing and pleasantly tart. I tried DH's carne asada, which was pretty good, but I'm not one for beans or sour cream, so I didn't try this one with all its' components. He assured me it was all quite good!

We were starting to get pretty full by this point, but we decided to go on and grab something from stop #6, Taste of Marrakesh before taking a break. I went with the Desert Rose, sparkling wine with pomegranate liqueur. DH had the "hot dog" sauage, which was pretty small but turned out to be a blessing as we were getting so full! My drink was fine, but forgettable. The sausage packed a spicy punch, but it was delicious and I thought the ratio of meat/toppings/bread was spot on.

Part 2 coming soon!

I'm here and looking forward to hearing all about your trip! What luck regarding the rental car!

@Denamac Thanks! It worked out so well for us, and now I'm a little more comfortable in a big car, though the cameras and "crossing the lane line warning" helped a lot!

I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee with all the bells and whistles and I LOVE it! When I first got it, I wasn't sure about needing all the features but now I can't imagine having a car without them!

Whenever we decide we're in the market for our next vehicle, I've definitely been leaning toward an SUV, and now that I know what kind of features are out there and how useful they are, I'm much more willing to pay up for them!

Wow, pixie dust, n yummy food...at Disney World, a win win. Can't wait to read more!
And belated Anniversary Wishes !

Hi! Just wanted to say I'll definitely be following along for the rest of your report! I'm glad you had a nice evening at MK (RIP Wishes) even though it wasn't what you had planned. And I enjoyed your report on the F&G booths! I'll be at Epcot next weekend and I'm trying to make a list of all of my must-eats so your report was super helpful! Thanks for sharing!

I'm glad it was helpful! You'll have to let me know if you tried anything else and what you thought about it!

So sorry for not updating for a while. Work sure piled up while I was gone and I'm just now unburying myself. My job has been particularly stressful the last couple of days, so what better way to unwind than with more trip reporting!

So, where was I?...

Monday 4/10: Eating and drinking 'round the world! (pt. 2!)

After eating at Taste of Marakkesh, we needed a break from the drinking and snacking. We spent some time hanging around at the Japan pavilion. We shopped in Mitsukoshi for a little while, sat in the shade, hunted for the Easter egg, and watched the taiko drummers. Then it was time for stop #7, Hanami. We were both really only interested in the fruishi here, so we split one service. It wasn't as sweet as I expected, which was nice. Very refreshing and tasty!

From there, it was back to 'Merica! We were a little re-energized from our break in Japan, and man oh MAN, had I been looking forward to this booth! Stop #8 was The Smokehouse, where I got the brisket burnt ends hash and DH got the frozen lemonade with blackberry moonshine. Guys. GUYS. Ohmagosh. This hash was SO GOOD. The drink was refreshing and delightfully tart. And together? They paired so excellently that I was considering going back and duplicating our order so we could both enjoy a "full" portion. But that would have been foolish, since we were only halfway through the showcase booths. But man, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Stop #9 was in Italy at Primavera Kitchen. This was another spot with too many items that piqued our interest, but we decided on the strawberry tiramisu and Bellini. I honestly didn't get much peach flavor in my Bellini, and the wine was a bit dryer than I expected. The tiramisu was fine, but not extraordinary.

At this point, we luckily got another break from the food, as we had a 3:00 FP+ for FEA. (Yes, we'd been eating for almost four hours.) We had not been to Epcot since FEA was added, but I figured we would enjoy it well enough to grab the Fastpass, and I'm glad we did. The queue was around 60 minutes, and it was definitely the hottest part of the day. Interestingly, when we got to the FP+ entrance, the CM handed me a card on a lanyard and asked me to hand it to the ride attendant before getting in our boat. I read the card and learned that it was a way the CMs gauge more accurate wait times. How cool that I got to help with that! Also, the family in front of us in line had an ADORABLE little girl who was so excited to ride and chatted me up while we waited in line. I thought the ride itself was pretty fun and had some neat effects. It was probably the most fun to hear the little girl's reactions to seeing Olaf and Elsa, though. I don't think I would FP again, but if the line was short enough, I might wait for it.

After the ride, it was time to eat more food! We backtracked to Germany for stop #10, Bauernmarkt. DH ordered the potato pancakes with ham, and I got the potato pancakes with applesauce. I was kind of underwhelmed with my pancakes. I found them to be salty and overseasoned, which drowned out the flavor of the apple sauce. I got two pancakes in my serving but only ate one. We spent time wandering in the shops, where I contemplated a tiara for the 59th time before deciding against it again, then headed on down to China.

We perused the garden, took some pictures for a few couples, and went inside to look at the Shanghai Disney exhibit. I enjoyed looking at the costumes, merchandise, and concept art for the newest Disney park! Also, it was cool in there, which helped a lot. Before heading out, we made stop #11, which was Lotus House. I enjoyed this 500x more than Bauernmarkt. I ordered the spicy chicken lettuce wraps and DH got the Dragon Pearl, which was beer + honey + cream + tapioca pearls. Not my favorite drink, but the lettuce wraps were ace!

Stop #12 was Jardin de Fiestas in Mexico. I had the DELICIOUS watermelon sangria, and DH had the tres leches, which was much lighter than I expected. I finished my sangria as we walked around the orchid garden. We had officially made it through the world showcase and finished our egg hunt! But we still had three booths to go :scared:

Stop #13 was La Isla Fresca, where I had the FlanCocha and DH had delicious braised beef with pigeon pea rice. By now, the sun was starting to go down and it was a little breezy. I had worn a loose purple tank and orange sports bra as an attempt at a Figment disneybound, and I was honestly getting a little chilly! We decided we would redeem our egg hunt prizes (Woody and Jesse eggs!), buy a few pins, and eat at the last booths on the way out. IllumiNations isn't my favorite show, and we were so full we just wanted to go back to the resort and rest.

Stop #14 was the Berry Basket, where I had the wild berry buckle and DH had the green tea berry mint julep. The berry buckle was another favorite of mine from the day. The sorbet on top melted perfectly on the warm pastry, and every now and then you got just a hint of pepper. It was excellent. The julep was also quite tasty, and they had recipe cards at the booth! I would definitely consider making my own at home.

Last but not least, stop #15 was Pineapple Promenade. I had known for MONTHS what I would be ordering once we got here, and as much as we wanted our own individual dole whip with coconut rum, we had been snacking for about seven hours and I was getting cold and we just couldn't justify getting our own. So we split it. It was DELIGHTFUL. Why can't every dole whip have coconut rum?

We made just a couple more stops on the way out of Epcot, including Art of Disney. I'm so glad we stopped there, because I found the Finding Dory otter "cuddle pile" pin I had been wanting since before our trip! In fact, I think I only saw it at one other kiosk the whole time we were in the parks. Definitely glad I found it there! Then it was time for a few more pictures, then we walked right onto a completely empty bus for All-Star Movies! We were tired, but the bus driver was very nice and told us to keep it down back there, we were being rowdy! Haha. We thanked him for the excellent service, disembarked for our room, and came back to see mousekeeping had had a little fun while we were out.
50DANIil.jpg

We noticed our shower door had not been fixed, and there were no new messages on our machine, but we were too tired to care. We relaxed for a short while, set alarms for the next morning, and fell asleep to a Chopped rerun. #marriedlife

4/11 - A somewhat poorly planned day at Magic Kingdom

So, you've seen those shirts that say "I'm only a morning person when I'm at Disney"? I should get one of those, because that's SO ME. But guys, this was MAGIC KINGDOM DAY!

We got up (SOMEONE took a little longer than I had planned), I put on my lazy Belle disneybound, and went to the bus stop where we had to wait a whole FIVE MINUTES for a bus! Woe is me! As I said, we were able to walk onto a bus almost every time we needed one. I think this was our longest wait, but I didn't really mind.

So, mistake number 1: we didn't get up for EMH. We were so tired the night before that I hadn't considered how getting to the park "late" would affect our plan. By the time we arrived, it was almost 9:00 and the wait time for Space Mountain was already at an 60+ minutes. We had FP+ for Peter Pan at around 9:20, so we couldn't go get in line for Space Mountain or we had a high likelihood of missing our Peter Pan FP. I noticed the Dapper Dans were supposed to be performing at 9:00, though, so we tried to find them. Unfortunately, we missed seeing them perform and watched them ride up Main Street in the fire truck instead. I was kind of bummed, but I knew we could try to make a show in the afternoon instead. So we poked around in some shops until it was time to head to Peter Pan. This was a ride I had never been on (that I can remember...) and it was kind of fun! I had heard of the popularity of the ride, and my favorite part was definitely the beginning, where it feels like you're flying higher and higher over London. Admittedly, Peter Pan was never my favorite Disney movie, but I'm glad I got to experience the ride and am DOUBLY glad we had a FastPass. I think if we had actually waited in line, I would have been disappointed.

From there, we decided to hop on the carousel, because it's such a classic and quick ride. While I was waiting in line, I poked through my TimeHop app and noticed a coincidence: we had been at Magic Kingdom exactly four years ago that day! I had a Facebook post where I had lamented the fact that our honeymoon was almost over, and my husband had said "our honeymoon is forever!" It was such a sweet reminder that I teared up right there in line! I felt so lucky to be right back in the same park, continuing our honeymoon four years later!

At this point, Space Mountain's wait time was unreal (120+ minutes) and I knew we wouldn't be riding it that day. It's not my favorite ride, as I much prefer the Disneyland version, so we decided to head to Splash Mountain instead. We took a detour to the hub grass first!
2NpYwfml.jpg

When we got to Splash Mountain, the standby wait time said 55 minutes. I didn't mind waiting an hour, especially since I knew the line would get longer as the day got hotter, so we got in line. This time, DH was handed the same type of card on a lanyard to gauge the wait time! This was evidently a good thing, since it took us about 75 minutes to get through the line. I just love the theming in the queue and the ride itself, though, and we played a little Pokemon Go while we waited, so the wait went by fairly quickly. I hardly got wet, but there was a mom with her two kids who got SOAKED, and they laughed all the way back to the beginning of the ride! They were such a joy to ride with!

By now, we were hungry, but we had lunch reservations in just a short while. We decided to go grab a Mickey pretzel (because everything tastes better when it's Mickey shaped!). We got a little pixie dust at the kiosk when we were handed TWO pretzels! I realized after we had both tucked in that we should have probably tried to give the second one away, because the whole point of ordering one was to split it so we wouldn't spoil our lunch. Oh well! It was delicious, and the perfect snack to eat while we watched the Festival of Fantasy parade. We had a pretty good view considering we walked up at the last minute, and I LOVED the parade! I had seen pictures online, but they didn't do justice to the fantastic costuming and the DRAGON! Holy buckets, Maleficent was awesome! I almost wanted to follow the parade so I could keep watching the dancing briars and the fire-breathing mechano-dragon. Instead, we killed a little time in shops and went to lunch at Liberty Tree Tavern.

We hadn't eaten here before, but I was impressed with both the service and the food! We ordered the patriot's platter, and everything was SO GOOD. We only got the one platter, since we had just eaten pretzels, and more importantly because we wanted to save room for dessert, but that pot roast sure had me thinking second thoughts about ordering another helping! And the ooey gooey toffee cake was excellent! The only drawback was the family who was getting up to leave as our lunch was served, who decided it would be a good idea to spray down their kids with sunscreen before heading back outside. Really? You're spraying that stuff in the middle of the restaurant?

We shopped in Memento Mori for probably the third time until it was almost time for the Muppets Great Moments in American History show to start. I enjoyed the show quite a bit, though we stood in a spot that made it impossible to see Sam the Eagle. Even so, I love the gang and the show was a lot of fun. We saw the one about the Declaration of Independence. After that, I knew I wanted to head back toward Main Street to see the Dapper Dans. As was becoming a common theme for the day, we had too little time between planned things to wait in long lines, but too much to just go and see what we wanted to see. So we dallied around on Main Street, watching a glass blowing demonstration and trying on tiaras (again)...until it was time! I got a front row spot to see my favorite barber shop quartet! The crowd was smaller than I expected, but it was kind of nice because it was a more intimate show. I just think they're so fun and it was one of the highlights of my day!

By now, the food had settled in our tummies and we were a little sleepy. So where do you go when you're sleepy in the middle of the day in Magic Kingdom? The Hall of Presidents The Carousel of Progress! I actually hadn't seen the CoP in probably about 13 years, so I watched the whole show, but DH definitely nodded off for a bit. Once we got out, we had about 30 minutes until our Seven Dwarfs FPs. I was sort of at a loss for things to do, since once again we didn't have time (or at this point, energy) to wait in a long line for anything in the meantime. So we sat in the shade against the Carousel of Progress ramps and watched the #Incredibles dance party from afar.

After 7DMT, we decided to go wait in line for Haunted Mansion even though we had a FP coming up. We were able to wait in line for 45 minutes, ride it, and then get back in the FP line and ride it again right away! It's one of my favorite rides in the whole park, and I was definitely glad we got to do it twice in a row. The only thing about Fastpasses is you don't get to experience all the details in the queue, so we got the best of both worlds this way!

I snagged a PotC FP right after we got out of HM, so to kill time in between, we decided to go find some dole whips! We lucked out and got a table in the very corner of the seating area at Aloha Isle. We were able to sit and savor our treat in the shade and people watch a bit. Some of the annoyance of my poor planning melted away as I realized we were getting to take our time and enjoy the park. I felt better after that. Dole whips are magic!

After our Pirates ride, it was close-ish-but-not-close-enough to time to check in for our Be Our Guest reservation. We took our time exploring the details in Fantasyland, which was still partially under construction during our last visit. Then, it was finally time to check in. After a short wait, I got the text that our table was ready, and we were lead into the grand ballroom. We sat at aaaaalmost the exact same table as exactly four years prior, which I mentioned to our waiter. He was very sweet and offered to move us to the table behind us to recreate the magic, but we laughed and told him it was fine. We were once again seated on the far end of the room against the wall, so we had a fantastic view of the whole room and the giant windows. This was another "OMG Disney is so magical" experience for me. Beauty and the Beast is my favorite movie, and I'm so impressed with the theming at BOG that I just couldn't stop staring at the dining room! Our food was better than I expected. I had a good meal there on our honeymoon, but I had heard so many stories about the food being mediocre that I was concerned the quality had gone down. I thoroughly enjoyed my chicken, and DH cleared his plate of braised beef, though he did say it was a tad salty. We ordered dessert (an orange chocolate eclair for me, a lemon meringue cupcake for him), and we also got complimentary grey stuff, since we were celebrating our anniversary! My eclair was surprisingly light, and the balance of orange to chocolate was PERFECT. DH's cupcake was quite messy, but he enjoyed it. I think mine was better, though. As for the grey stuff, the dish we got last time had a much more impressive presentation, but the serving we got this time was a little bigger and FAR creamier!

2017

After dinner, we got to meet Beast, who was a very cordial host, and it was fun to chat with everyone in line. I got many compliments on my rose necklace. Then people would notice the color of my tank top and say, "oh, you're Belle!"

We decided to cut out after dinner since it had been a long day. Wishes was tempting, but I knew we would have the chance to see it at least one more time before we left. We could've gone to get in line for a more popular ride, since the lines were a little shorter, but we just didn't have it in us. We went to board our bus, which ended up being a big, comfy charter bus! We got back to our room, unwound with some TV time, and got ready for bed. Tomorrow was Animal Kingdom, and I was SO EXCITED!

My DH just said, "I thought you were already done with your trip report?" and I laughed and said I was only halfway through our trip :rolleyes1

More soon!
