Hubby 34
Daughter 7
Son 19 mth
Mom fifty something (grandma)
Brother and Fiance
We started out Sunday by checking into Pop at 7am, got our room keys (room not ready yet) and headed to MK for EE. Check in was a breeze and took all of 10 min!!! It was really crowded at MK. We went to Fantasyland and saw Mickey's PhilharMagic. Very good show. Then we rode the carosel, Pooh, Peter Pan, snow white, and Dumbo. Sat and ate sandwiches we had prepared in the room. Headed over to Frontierland for Haunted Mansion, Hall of Presidents and a little shopping. I got one of those mickey heads for your antenna on your car. Been wanting one of those. Then we went over to see Pirates and Tiki Birds. Line for Aladian was a little long- 30 min I think so we skipped it. Took the train around the park 2 times (son had fallen asleep). Then we headed over to Epcot via the monorail. I did Mission space with hubby and I didn't get sick. Just as we were walking out of the gift shop Mickey and Goofy dessed in space outfits came out. The people bombarded them so we just looked and left. People are so rude sometimes. I could never be a cast member in charge of controlling the crowd. Called to see if our room was ready and it was so we hit Spaceship earth and headed out. The topiaries were so cute at Epcot. I espcially liked the Tinkerbell one. Got to our room at Pop and it was just what I asked for. We were in the 70's on the first floor. Room 165. Met up with Brother and Fiance and headed over to the Poly to watch the Electrical Water Parade. Only it never came! So we waited for wishes at 10p and watched them from the beach at the Poly. Very nice. Headed back to room very tired.
Day2- Monday - Me and my family went to Typhoon Lagoon while Mom, Brother anf Fiance went to MGM. We had a nice morning at the water park. Headed back to room for showers and to meet others at MGM only we had an unexpected event. My DS (19 mth) fell off the bed and cut his head on the night stand. It was very deep and blood was gushing out. DH called the front desk and handed the phone to me. I said My son needs medical attention immediately. They connected me to 911 and sent out paramedics. The manager and a lifeguard came before the paramedics arrived and tried to calm me down. I was hestirical and crying. When the paramedics arrived one told the other "we need a bandaid!!" I guess it wasen't as bad as I thought. But there was so much blood and it was just gushing out of his head and that's my baby!!!! Anyhow, we got to ride in the ambulance to the hospital and DH and DD followed in our car. He had 7 stitches put in and we were told everything was going to be just fine. We got back to the room about 5pm (the accident was at 1:30p) and mousekeeping had come to pick up the bloody towels and had left us two towel animals. Well, I was a little upset that the manager had not called to check up on my son. No message, no note, nothing but two towel animals. Not very Disneylike. Anyhow, went to the gift shop to get DD the Pal Mickey I had promised her, got a bite to eat and went out by the pool to have supper. At this point I am feeling very down in the dumps and hurt that Disney had not even called. Son was fine and back to his usual self. Ended up not going to parks this evening- just not up to it. Glad we didn't as it rained and the rest of my family came back soaked. Off to bed hoping for a better tomorrow.
Day 3, Tuesday-
This was our day at MGM. We did EE and saw TOT and RnR. Got fast passes for RnR and headed over to Muppets 3d. Kids liked it, I didn't. But hey, it's their vacation too. Headed back over to RnR for fast pass. Awesome ! Love the take off. Then went to Playhouse Disney and Little mermaid. I absoutely love the Little Mermaid show. One of my favorites. Had sandwiches again that we prepared in the room then headed to the Backlot tour. Then to Al's toy barn just to find them leaving for a break. Oh well, we'll be back for my DS loves BUZZ. Went see the Beauty and the Beast show. Very nice. Headed back to Al's toy barn and met the characters. My DS is a real trooper. He's having a wonderful time dispite the cut on his head. Went on the Great Movie Ride and sat for the Stars and Motor cars parade. Then it got cloudy and what we feared happened- rain and parade cancelled. Headed back to POP and My daughter and Hubby and I went to Epcot later that evening. We wanted to ride TT but the wait was 45 min. It was 8:30pm so we went sit to watch Illiminations. Very nice- Love the music- have the CD so we walked out as I hummed and sung the songs. Off to bed for a restful night. All in all things were nice at POP- we heard noise but it was not bad. Also, still no word from Disney management on how my son was doing. We had too good of a day to let that bother me.
Day 4- Wednesday. This was our BB day and Epcot for others. So we got a late start. Well, 915am knock kncok knock on the door. Thought it was mousekeeping and was going to ask for just 10 more min. and we would be out of her way. Well, opened the door and it was the Manager who came to our room when my son had his accident. She said she had been trying to find out how he was doing. She said she had called and left two voice messages and even came by the day before to see but we were not there. She said she had something for my DD (7 yrs old) for being so brave when they took my DS and I away in the ambulance. She came back with a towel angel for her and a fish in a bowl towel animal for my DS. I told her we had a good day on Tuesday and my DS had alot of fun at MGM. When she left my Brother (always the grumpy one) said "Yeah, she's just checking on the status of the law suit, don't think she's not going write that down that you said he had a great time in the parks etc...." LOL, well, reguardless of her prupose for coming by it made me feel good that they cared enough to check and bring the towel animals. Now that's the Disney I know. And there was never going to be a law suit because it was not their fault and I'm not that kind of person. So this was a little Disney Magic for me. We went off to have a good day at BB. It was very crowded and hot. At 3:30 my DD and I were at the top of the line for the Runoff rapids slide when they announced a weather advisory had been issued and some rides may have to close. We got to slide and then we all left and headed back to Pop. Showered and went to supper at the Rainforest cafe' at Animal Kingdom. Good food but overpriced in my opinion. My mom, Bro. and Fiance ate at Marakeesh that night and said it was very good. They had a good time at Epcot and enjoyed Illuminations. Everyone was very tired and had a good nights sleep.
Now I am off to bed, will report on the last four days in part two. Any questions? Just ask.
