Our Crazy Adventure full of Cough Drops, Dinopups, &PureMagic! *Updt 1/30 Pg. 43*

Good luck with open house and starting high school!
I teach 4th grade so I head back to school soon...Friday for me...next Wednesday for my students!
Your schedule looks like it is split pretty evenly with workloads each semester!
Best of luck:goodvibes

Teen Living? What's that?

Other than that, woohoo! I've always done all-honors or almost all-honors courses, and they really pay off in the long run. I had to drop honors Math after Algebra II H, because I didn't keep up the required cumulative grade to stay in the honors program for Math. So, I took regular Geometry and regular Trig. (And thank heavens I did!)

My schedule should be coming in a few days. If not by the end of this week, the beginning of next week; I believe Freshman Orientation is next Friday night.

Well, by now I've forgotten what Teen living is! So, I found my school packet with all the class information in it and I'll just copy what the info about TL says "This course examines life management skills in the areas of personal and family living; wellness, nutrition, and foods; financial management; living enviornments; appropriate child development practices; fashion and clothin; and job readiness." There's more to it, but that's the basic of it.

I am glad about the all honors classes, I feel like I can keep up with them all- hopefully! Math is my favorite subject, so I'm looking forward to that the most, probably.

When do you start school, Meg? I love getting my schedule, I hope you get some good classes.

Good luck with open house and starting high school!

Thank you!
Y'all start school the same time as us, probably because we live in the same state, as I can see.
I was thankful for that! I was hoping to have 2 honors core classes each semester, to keep things even. Thanks so much (: I'm hoping my first day of High School isn't a complete disaster like in the movies, lol

I start on September 2nd.

Oh, I already know what classes I'm taking. We get to choose our classes. Well, Health/Phys. Ed. is automatically added in for you, but we get to choose all our other classes. I just don't know what periods/teachers I have yet.

Lucky, you've got a while longer left.

Here you only have to take PE once, and that's your 9th grade year. So 2nd semester is the only time I have to take PE and I'll be taking Health for half the semester, so...
Oh, same with me, except I know the periods, I just don't know the teachers I have.

LUCKY. We have to take PE all four years! ALL FOUR YEARS! And Health for a quarter every year. So a semester-and-a-half of gym, and a half-semester of Health. Ughhh.

That stinks! I hate gym with a passion. I was so happy when I found out I only take it for a quarter for one year.

As I tell my friends, "I'm a dancer. I'm not an athlete."

Seriously. I can't catch something for the life of me. I can't throw anything for the life of me. I don't run, I don't dribble basketballs. I don't hit birdies/ping-pong balls/tennis balls with raquets. I don't hit baseballs with baseball bats. I don't kick soccer balls.

I'm just not an athlete! Ask me to do a tour jete, fine. Ask me to do a triple time step, sure. I love triple time steps.

But say, "hey, catch this (pencil/pen/article of clothing/ball/whatever)!"

No go. I'll either catch it and drop it, or miss it by a mile.

Sometimes I surprise myself and do halfway alright with catching, I'm not too bad at throwing- I've been practicing with my dog, I'll throw his tennis ball pretty far now, haha. Kicking soccerballs I'm alright at, I'm no Mia Hamm, but I'm not too terrible. I'm pretty tall, so basketball isn't that hard.

My main problems about gym are:
#1 I hate changing
#2 I hate getting sweaty
#3 I hate having everybody watch me when I'm playing a sport (ex. up to bat, ball coming towards me, etc.)
#4 Never (and I mean never) do I have any friends in my gym class. It's always just me and a few people I know but I'm not best friends with.

I'm so thankful I'm only got to take it one quarter

I hope your open house goes well! hopefully your teachers arent too bad, heehee. I can't wait for school to start for me, I love school, I know I'm such a nerd

Great AK update! I love it there. Flame Tree BBQ was closed when we were there. :confused3

Good luck with back to school (can't believe it's already that time!) and starting high school. Trust me, those 4 years will fly by!

Thanks! I kinda like school, if it wasn't so long and I didn't have to wake up so early, I'd like it better lol

Thanks Sarah (: That stinks, I saw somewhere that it would be closed for referb starting... (let me check) August 9th which was a Monday, I think.

Thank you, I'm hoping they do go by fast! I know last school year flew right by, which I was kind of greatful about

I start school Wednesday, and my open house was today. My brothers open house is tomorrow, and I'm going with them to help out with the PTO (: I hope they are, all honors classes seem difficult, but my teachers are very organized. We don't get a study hall! We've got homeroom occasionally on some mornings, then each class period is 1 1/2 hours and lunch is 30 minutes, and that's it! A day full of learning

**************

For anybody who is interested... I enjoyed my open house this evening. We had an "assembly" for about 20 minutes where the principals went over some things and I sat with some friends (one of them being Cass, y'all know her!) then on my way to get my schedule with my mom, I found my best friends. We found out none of us have lunch together this semester, but maybe next semester. And I met my teachers, they all seem very very nice and helpful and organized. And my classes are awesome.

And, now I'm excited to go supply shopping- I just LOVE getting new supplies! It's my favorite part! Besides back to school clothes shopping, but we've already done that. Anyways, I'm sure I'll have some "1st Day of High School Pictures" for y'all on Wednesday. I'll probably be more than willing to have my picture taken (and force my mother to take it...). Even though I will be awake bright and early at 6:00 and I'll be the first one to leave (out of both my parent and my brothers)! Since my bus will come at 6:54.

im glad open house was good for you! did it make you excited for school? or are you still wishing for summer to last? haha.

thats good you have good classes and teachers, and that you know people in your classes. hope you have a good first day of high school on wednesday

Aw I hope you had a good first day of high school!! That's so awesome! I can't wait to see your pictures!! I didn't read your comments between everyone else...but do you go to a private Christian school or something? I'm just wondering because I don't know any public high schools that offer a religion class!

If you do, have you always been and how do you like it? If not...then don't worry about it! :goodvibes

I cannot believe you only have 4 classes a semester! We had 7, and 4 were for sure year-round (the core classes: math, science, english, and history) then the rest were electives and you could pick those as whatever you wanted. Since you guys only have 4 classes, are they longer periods? We would have it so that 3 days a week, we had all 7 classes and then one day we would have 3 classes plus homeroom/study hall (the only day we went to homeroom) and one day would be the other 4 classes. Those day were "block schedules". It was nuts! I know some schools around here that have block schedules every day, so its about 4 classes a day, but they rotate so it's still 7 a semester. Literally blows my mind that you only have 4 a semester!

I'm glad you enjoyed my JoBro story!! I would've recognized him too! I don't listen to their music, but every now and then, I enjoy their show! And since I'm a youth group leader and know you, I would've gotten my picture with him...not because I wanted it for me but to show you all! :rotfl: Nick is too young for me...but if Joe and I happened to hit it off, well, that wouldn't be the worst thing to happen! :rotfl2:

It made me a lot less nervous about school, not so sure about excited... haha. I am so still wishing it was the middle of summer or something.

thats good you have good classes and teachers, and that you know people in your classes. hope you have a good first day of high school on wednesday

Thanks, I'm really happy with my classes (:

Thanks(: Actually, I go to public school! I was pretty surprised when I saw they had a Christian Religion class... I'm mainly taking it because 8th grade was my last year of "Sunday School" so I thought I should keep up with that stuff. They have "Intro to Old Testement" and "Intro to New Testement" plus more advanced religion classes.

I never thought that in high school you only take 4 classes a semester, but I like the idea. That way I only have to do the subjects that are boring/I don't like for 18 weeks. And it's good if I don't like that teacher (: The bad thing is, you don't have a whole year to cram everything in before taking the EOC (end of course) tests. In 8th grade I did Algebra I the whole year long, and even that was hard to fit everything in. I feel bad for the kids in my grade who are doing Algebra I and only have 1 semester to take it :p Although, if you didn't do Algebra I in 8th grade, you have to take "Foundations of Algebra" first semester and then "Algebra I" second semester, which I guess is the same thing, sort of? But that stinks because they have a math class each semester, haha.

I think their TV show is pretty addicting, haha. That would've been so cool if you met the JoBros, of course, now I know if you ever run into them you'll have your picture taken with them  I think Joe just turned 21 (so like not even a year older than you). Nick's... 17... I think... I don't know lol.

July 8th
Day 3
Animal Kingdom

So, like I said, we were sitting last row on our safari train thingy on Kilimonjaro Safaris

I'll let the pictures do the talking (for the most part...)

Giraffes! (My favorite)
IMG_7122.jpg

Our driver dude told us there was a baby giraffe- it was too cute! I took a lot of pics of the baby and his mom (:

Elephants (my second favorite)
IMG_7126.jpg

IMG_7129.jpg

There was a baby elephant too! But it was hiding inbetween the mom's legs and I couldn't get a good picture...

IMG_7132.jpg

IMG_7133.jpg

There were tons of lions out!
IMG_7134.jpg

IMG_7135.jpg

IMG_7136.jpg

We lucked out with all the animals on this ride (:

After our ride, we hopped off and passed by a little gift shop... well I saw something I HAD to have...
IMG_7141.jpg

Isn't it so cute?!
I couldn't come up with a name for him (I did decide it was a boy though) the whole trip. He does have a name now, though. I showed him to my two friends who were sleeping over at my house and one of them told me I should name him Bubbles. So, I did. Haha

We also did some pressed pennies after I bought my baby giraffe
IMG_7137.jpg

IMG_7138.jpg

By now, we decided that this was it for Animal Kingdom... well almost...
On the way out, I spotted some frozen beverages... I had to have a frozen coke! Those things are SO good
IMG_7139.jpg

IMG_7140.jpg

Joe had a frozen lemonade

And then we headed out of AK! A bus was waiting for us when we got to the bus stop, and when we walked on... guess who was already there waiting for us? The annoying people with the loud kids from the bus ride to AK! We were the only people on the bus with them. Let's just say, they were more annoying than before. Because we were the only people on the bus with them, the adults let their kids sit anywhere they wanted on the bus, sure that's fine, whatever. But the parents were sitting right by us in the front and the kids were in the back. One kid wouldn't sit down and the mom kepy yelling across the bus for him to get his butt in a seat. She was yelling in our ears the whole bus ride! Luckily, they got off at WL (I don't get why our busses had to go to WL too... I think just the monorial resorts would've been fine with me... no offence to you WL lovers!)

FINALLY we made it back to GF!
I had to take pictures of the GF busstop, since it's all fancy
IMG_7142.jpg

IMG_7144.jpg

The cars that they have outside
IMG_7145.jpg

IMG_7146.jpg

I was so pooped by this point that I snapped a few pics of the lobby (the piano man and the orchastra) and headed to the room with everyone else.
IMG_7148.jpg

IMG_7149.jpg

I was SO tired, that I didn't even want to get up off the bed when my brothers talked my parents into going to the Poly to ride those big family bike thingys. So, they went without me.

But, more about that next update

Up Next: KK3 and Bikes

KK3 next? Wheeee!

Aw, too bad you didn't get a good baby elephant picture. We got a good one of the sweet wittle baby.
