I have an old, old Chow. Not sure exactly how old because I found her but I think she is likely in the 'sunset of her life' poor baby....
It is so very sad when they must leave us, we are never ready it seems even though they are....
Take comfort in all those years you shared and how your life and hers was better because of it. At least her ending was peaceful and she was loved and loved back until her last breath.
Having a friend like that, Sadie, for so many years, is indeed a blessing. She and you shared much, many joys and fun, and now you will have her memories, forever. Your buddy is there with so many others, forever, and waiting......
Rainbow Bridge
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers.
Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
I'm so sorry for your loss. I have a 12 year old dog with health problems (had them for years). He's not doing so well lately, don't know how he'll make it through the summer.
So sorry. I am so dreading the day this happens to our golden, Abbie, who is 12 1/2. My kids 20/25/26 are going to be heartbroken. It makes me tear up just thinking about it.
The Rainbow Bridge always makes me cry. That's where I wanna go when it's my time.
Petey and I both wish you peace and eventual comfort. Sounds like she had a long and happy life right up until the very end. Remember that she loved and appreciated you for all the kind and loving care you gave her over the years.
I am so very sorry for the loss of your Boxer. We lost our little Boxer-girl, Heidi, 4 months ago and not a day goes by that I don't shed tears. I miss her so very much. Please accept my sincere sympathy as I understand what you are going through.
And.....carrie_106......please also accept my sincere sympathy for the loss of your dear Cocker Spaniel. My heart goes out to you too.
