Our box arrived!

Our box arrived yesterday! We leave in 37 days!! I was very pleased with the "gifts" this time - the best of our three trips!

I need to get through this week - central air replacement, DD's senior brunch, baccalaureate ceremony, college graduation, luncheon party we are hosting in her honor at nearby restaurant, and nephew's college graduation the next day. If I survive the craziness, lol, I will start reading through the itinerary to determine some OYO
ideas. We have two pre tour days in Prague before ABD starts!

Ours has been disassembled for some time, so I don't have any pics. But we got a canvas tote bag, a document/iPad holder with a removable strap (so you can carry it cross-body), an iPad sleeve, a nylon drawstring bag (that looks like it will be great for dirty laundry) and two luggage straps. Plus the spiral-bound travel guide and luggage tags.

I have to attest that the nylon drawstring bag does work out well for dirty laundry. It is so light yet strong that it does not take up much room in the luggage while not contributing to the "Battle of the overall weight". Europe is very strict on that 50 lb. limit. Plus, being an American I cannot do the conversion to metric quickly......

We are still 52 days out but I can't wait to get "the box". Besides the goodies, we are 1st time ABDers and we need all the info we can get. Also dealing with my middle son's college graduation next week so hopefully that will take my mind off planning for a bit.

I can't help you because I'm not doing an ABD this year ( ) but it's more likely because you don't have any Junior Adventurers traveling with you. I know some of the gifts are geared more towards the kids (although I'm with you - I'd want one, too!)

Our trip is myself plus my son (10), so I guess the box was configured differently for him. Funny thing is, I won't actually let him use the iPad sleeve because it would mean his iPad would be unprotected when he takes it out of the sleeve to use it. The case we already have is too big to leave the iPad in it and use the sleeve, too. My rule is that the iPad stays protected at all times; he was very disappointed that he can't use the sleeve. It's really just a zippered case (that happens to be about the size of an iPad) so I guess he could use it for other things.

No iPad sleeve for us either, but I love the iPad crossbody bag! It looks like it will keep all that travel documentation that "mom" keeps together very organized! ;-). Hubby still loves the original heavy duty backpacks. We still have one left from our first trip! Those nylon green ones that one year were lousy. Lol. Only good for wet bathing suits. Lol

Getting ready for DD's college graduation this week, too, AND central air replacement. Maybe NEXT week I can start thinking of Prague pre-day plans!

Here is a picture of what was in the box. Ours arrived yesterday! It all came in the bigger bag which my dad did not get a picture of. LOVE the canvas and drawstring bag! The blue is a much better color than the brown and green of last year, IMO.

I love that the backpack has a zippered compartment on the outside and a spot for a water bottle! Our adventure starts in 41 days and we received our box today.

Quick question on the box (and so sorry if it has been answered before). We signed up for ABD as part of our DCL package, would we still receive a box from ABD? Would that also count as 1 trip with ABD?
