Our Big Fat Italian Wedding New PJ:6*12*10 Trump National/Dismoon: Pnina & Christian!

So to continue in the long dress shopping/buying process we decided that a second dress for the reception would be a fantastic idea. Kleinfeld told us they would offer a fantastic discount if we decided to buy it with them so that was a no brainer! So my mom and one of my MOH and best friends, Katie, trecked into the city one more time looking for another "perfect dress".

I went in looking for something sexy, sophisticated, and sleek. I had stayed away from the Pnina Tornai dresses there in the past because they seemed a bit crazy for me sometimes (I wish I could pull some of them off but my mother would have a heart attack if I walked down the isle in a see through corset!) . After trying on another 7 dresses with my new and improved consultant she said "Jenna you really have to try this Pnina on, I swear you will fall in love with it." I reluctantly said OK and two seconds later I was crying with excitement! Here are some pictures of me in the dress with out it laced up in the back, so normally there isn't that bulge in the front and will fall lower on the hip. We also tried to play with hairstyles...haha:lmao:.

I'm so excited to shock Tony with this dress! Hopefully he'll like it :woohoo:.

Up next...what is more important than shoes??

So I think I should start out this post by explaining my very strange obsession with designer shoes. Growing up as a teenager in an age where the emphasis of shoes started with Carrie Bradshaw and her Manolos, shoes have always been a very big deal to me. I was aware though as a college kid and young adult that I would never take as good care of these shoes as I should if I ever purchased them so I swore to myself that I would have a pair of killer shoes (literally killer...have you seen the size of those heels??) for my wedding day. I spent months and months searching for that perfect wedding shoe, and came up with one very real problem...MY FEET ARE EXCEPTIONALLY FAT! :lmao:

I'm really not just saying this, they are wide Fred Flinstone feet. Normally this isn't an issue, I always just go up a size or squeeze my toes into them for a night, but no one told me that the rule of designer fashion (everything being three sizes smaller than their actual size because you put a label like Prada on it) also went for shoes!!! These European footwear designers must not really be working with Sicilian women because even after going up 3 sizes my feet still wouldn't go in! I tried every style from Manolo to Jimmy Choo and nothing worked. Christian Louboutin...forget it! He had just changed the whole way he made shoes so that they were even thinner! The stress must have shown on my face after trying on yet again another small shoe at Neiman Marcus. I said out loud in front of the sales woman "I feel like the ugly stepsister in Cinderalla trying to shove my foot into the glass slipper!". I think she must have been a Disney fan because she seemed to get me right away. She leaned over and let me in on a secret about Louboutin's. She said that before they redesigned the shoe they were a little more wide and that my foot would definitely fit into a size 40 of the older styles no problem. Ok, I thought...but where do you get older styles??

EBAY!! So off I went for days looking for the perfect pair of Christian Louboutin's at a fraction of the cost I would have paid anywhere else. I did all the research and emailed back and forth with the sellers ensuring me that these shoes are the real thing and finally one worked. A girl had purchased them at Neiman Marcus a year and a half ago on sale without trying them on and they were way too big for her (go figure). She had the tag, receipt, box, and duster bag to prove it! I was sold. They are a perfect shade of peach to match the girl's flowers and my sash. I don't have a picture of the actual shoes yet but these are the exact design, just a lighter shade. I'm so in love :lovestruc ...Tony doesn't understand. :rotfl:

Haha isn't that show the greatest???? She was a really, really big help...the alterations can be a really scary thing! :scared1:

I also started a very close relationship with Nicole Saco (the sales manager) through all my questions and second guessing! She probably thinks I'm crazy! :lmao:

hahaha Pnina and Christina are my fave names too! ;)

You'll believe this...I was watching say yes to the dress right before I read your pj and one of the girls on the show got your dress.

I hear ya on those designer sizes. My theory is that the overwhelming majority of buyers are old people and they have smaller feet. I remember when I was really young, the biggest shoe aisle at Payless was size 7. Now the size 8 is the biggest. Also, just a few years ago, there was barely a selection for size 10. Now there is a nice half-aisle.

The overwhelming majority of women I know are at least a size 8. So yea, I don't get why expensive shoes are so small. Same with clothes. Maybe it's different in New York but here most Neiman Marcus patrons seem to be, again, old people.
