Then we could take the resort monorail to the Contemporary. I think of the 80’s version of The Mickey Mouse Club whenever I ride the Monorail (Remember? Geez, I forgot a lot of you are in your 20’s, so you don’t remember, do you!)

UtahMama- I remember this too. I was soooo excited when the "New Mickey Mouse Club" came on. I loved Lisa Welchel (Blair from The Facts of Life). She was the main girl mouseketeer (sp?) who promoted the new club. I loved it when they hopped off the monorail. I've been in love with the monorail ever since.

There’s no way in heck we’re willing to fork out $30 dollars for a meal souvenir. We’ll make our OWN souvenir later to commemorate this meal.

We went to CM's too. I wanted to buy the pic, but DH's eyes were closed. If I am going to pay $30 for a picture I want opened eyes!

Our Characters were, Chip, Dale, Minnie, Mickey, Pluto( I think!!!), and NOT Goofy. Goofy never came. Were we supposed to go to him? We waited and waited. No Goofy! DH loves Goofy. Goofy was past the buffet with a line to greet him. Since WHEN is Goofy not a table greeter? (Like I’ve been there a dozen times and am now an expert???)

We met Goofy while we were waiting on our table. Did you have to wait before you were seated? He even instructed my husband to take our picture from a different angle, so the sun wouldn't be in the picture. Sorry you didn't get to see Goofy. Our problem was that we waited for an hour and twenty minutes, and had not seen Mickey yet! After all it is called Chef MICKEY! The manager couldn't understand why we were upset. Well we paid OP for the meal $70+ for a buffet breakfast! It was eating into our AK time, and she couldn't understand what was the matter. Sorry to go off topic - I'll put more details in my TR (whenever I get it done).

Back to the Monorail Line where I realize my room key/dining/park entrance card is GONE! I had it in a clear plastic pouch on my lanyard and now the pouch was GONE! GEEZ.

Wow! Another Utah panic moment! Glad they got you a replacement so quickly.

The next ride used to be called “People Mover” and it still is in my heart. Do they still page Mr. Tom Marrow? I swear, they didn’t! I’ve even watched our home-video to see if I just missed it…and it was GONE! If that’s true, it’s a sad, sad thing.

I still call it the "People Mover" too, and my kids looked at me like I was crazy. I kept telling them. "That's what it used to be called." We were there in October, and they did page Mr. Tom Morrow. I loved that! We did it during the late EMH, and it was even more fun at night.

I snapped this photo of the filthy un-Disney bars!!! Should I send it to them? It was really dirty through the Space Mountain area.

I agree! She looks just like her. Enjoy this time because it will be gone before you know it. I know you know that since you have a 17 year old. Where does the time go?


Sorry for the long response, but your latest installment brought up so many emotions, and memories for me. I was so happy to read a new installment by my favorite Trip Reporter - UtahMama! I have been feeling metally challenged on the CB trying to figure out the big surprise from Ty! I'm leaving the solving up to the more talented DISers than me. Your TR is way better than that. Ummm, the picture outside of Buzz, I am not sure I see what you see? I stared real hard and all is see are posteriors - am I missing something?

Hey guess what - you know we are going to WDW in January. But we just planned a trip to take our youth group to Universal studios the beginning of Thanksgiving. So it is close to WDW! Universal is much cheaper and more youth friendly!

Can't wait for more!

I still call it the people mover. We got one here in Downtown Detroit. That's what ours is called. I can see why Disney changed the name. Riding one down here though, is a very different experience than in WDW.

OK....so a little info on Cosmic Rays stage......we were there with the bands from school and the Jazz band played at Cosmic Rays. Well, if you look at the stage, it appears there would be no place for them to set up. However, "Disney Magic" takes over. After they introduced the band, the stage began to lift and the band came out of the floor on a giant elevator! Ray went up into the ceiling and that's where he stayed while the jazz band played! It was very cool!

We headed right, towards TomarrowLand. Our First ride would be Buzz Lightyear. We have memorized the cheats and are rarin’ to defeat Zerg! Did I ever tell you when I rode this ride last year for the first time (with a then 1 year old baby in my arms), I didn’t realize till halfway through that this was an interactive game? I did not have YOU (the DIS) last year to save me from this travesty! THIS year there was a nice sized line. In this line we took this picture. This view was WAYYYY better in person! Do you see what I see?

Oh My Goodness! Someone get that woman the books on What Not To Wear by Trinny and Susanna of the British show of What Not To Wear. She totally needs it

I can't wait to ride the People Mover when we go to WDW next Oct. It will be our first time! DH loves that ride and they don't have it at DL any more .. he was thrilled to hear they have that at WDW.
