DAY 5 - August 26
I remembered someone on the DIS posting that the phones in the room had a speaker function, so when the wake up call came at 7am I hit the speaker button so all the kids could hear it. I love to have Mickey greet us each morning but I could do without Stitch screaming through the whole call...but thats just me.
Now everyone is not as perky as they were on day 1 so its takes more gentle coaxing"

by me to get them all up. Finally after breakfast we make it down to the IG before 9am.
Kiddie table at the concierge.
I was concerned that being at the IG put us at a disadvantage from the people down at the main gate as far as getting to Soarin first thing. So as soon as EPCOT opened we ran past England, Canada & through the rose garden to get to Soarin. As we got closer we saw tons of people coming in through the main entrance. We grabbed some fast passes & then rode standby which took only 10 minutes. The funny thing was the standby line was fairly light considering the amount of people that had just streamed into the Land pavilion. After a kid cot stop in the Land our FP time was up for another go on Soarin. So we go through the FP line & there is no one
yea, I said no one on the line. The CMs (where you board) even remarked where are all the people?

The only thing I can think was that most people got a FP & ran to get on TT or M:S to save Soarin for later so

for us! We got the 1st row both times which is ideal (no feet in view!). We have been on this ride many times but it is so much fun no matter how many times you ride. The feeling of flying combined with the smells of pine & oranges make you feel transported to the place you are viewing. I still pick my feet up when I pass the surfer on the wave!
The kids wanted to see Crush again and honestly so did I so we went over to the Living Seas. The line was about 10 minutes. This showing was very crowded & DH & I were all the way in the back with the kiddies on the floor up front. What is nice about this show is that Crush doesnt say the same exact thing each time (since we had seen it 2 days before) so that added to its believability & magic. I feel like kids grow up so fast today that I want my guys to believe in the magic for as long as they can. I know they will "know" when they get older but not on this trip. They all believe which makes it even more magical to watch them interact with the characters & they were all looking forward to seeing Crush again. This time Crush picked my Sophie to ask a question. She asked What do you eat? Crush said What a tasty question. I eat green sea grass which gives me my green color. Then he said to Sophie What do you eat? She paused. DH & I thought for sure she would say gummy bears, donuts, or French fries (yea, she likes her carbs, just like her mother!) but she said sandwiches. Everyone in the place went awww & giggled. Crush then responds with So, are you sandwich colored?

He was so funny! After Turtle Talk the kids explored Bruces playground. Lots of hands on things for the kids to look on sharks & sea life. There were tanks with fish like Nemo, Marlin, Gil, & Dory. Every kid (including mine) who saw these fish yelled with excitement Nemo"!
We headed over to the other side of FW now to ride Test Track. We all love this ride even my 5 year old!
When we got FPs for TT the machine gave out a bonus FP for Mission Space. Maybe they are trying to get people to ride it again since there have been so many issues with it. I had ridden M:S with my oldest Katie in 2003 & once was enough for me & for her. I had a headache for 3 days & had totally written this ride off my to do list. However, we decided to give the new green version a try since it does not have any spinning involved & we had the bonus FP. Let me tell you this version is just as much fun (if not more fun since you arent dizzy & barfing up your lunch afterwards!) as the original. The girls like it but Daniel loved it. He thought of it as one big giant video game since he had to help deploy the shields. Daniel did not stop talking about M:S the entire trip
.the ENTIRE trip!!!

After the ride there is a nice game area where you can join a team to fix problems on your rocket ship & as you do you are propelled faster in a race with the opposing teams rocket. All 5 of us played this together as the Orion team & won! This is one of the wonderful things about Disneyworld. You can play
with your kids not watch them play or watch them ride something. Walt Disney was one clever guy.
Sophie & Daniel at the M:S store.
By now our tummies are grumbling so we stop for lunch at Electric Umbrella. We go upstairs to find seating. Only two other families were up there & we got a nice seat by the window overlooking the breezeway by Mousegear. Lunch for all was chicken strips & fries followed by a giant chocolate cookie...yummy.
Now on to my kids absolute favorite part of EPCOT
Innoventions. They could spend all of our vacation in both the East & West sides. We did everything you could possibly do in FW (& I mean everything!) We sent email postcards home, opportunity city (again), made robots, learned about plastics, made paper, sent email postcard home, played Wheres the Fire, Pizza Game, Playhouse Disney pc games, crawled through the ant tunnels, saw the musical robots, drank sodas at Club Cool (We all missed the igloo), & Figment, o.k. everything except the Honey I Shrunk
3D show. That's the only thing we did not do in Future World.
With the completion of FW the kids now had a mission...to get their masks started, stamped & visit each kidcot station at the World Showcase.
My mission was to not eat so I could save room for my mushroom filet, pretzel bread, & chocolate cake that evening at Le Cellier.
This was in the bubble above my head all day!
My DHs mission was to get a large beer in Germany (maybe 2)!
The mission was completed successfully by all. It was a lovely evening. There was a cool breeze and it had been raining off and on all day so the sun was not too brutal.
After visiting some pavilions & doing some shopping it was time for dinner.
We had dined at Le Cellier last October. We had such a nice dinner there that I was really looking forward to returning.
Katie ordered an "adult" steak entree since she is 10..think she ate it??? Nope...glad we had free dining!
Daniel & Sophie shared a Smores dessert.
Our waitress was kind enough to take a picture of us.
Ten minutes before 9pm we got a spot on the bridge by the IG to watch Illuminations. Thus ended a wonderful day in my families favorite park.
Tomorrow MGM & fantasmic!!
