Mickey called us at 6 but even I slept until 6:50, so getting to AK at open was not going to happen. Luckily we wanted to focus on Asia which doesn't open until 9. We got to AK at 8:50 and saw Daisy, Timon and Louie out front--got pix of Timon getting Daisy's autograph. Went right to Asia and went on KRR. DS made the height requirement but DD#2 doesn't like getting wet, so we babyswapped. I stayed with her first, then I went on with just DD#1. I had a poncho on and stowed my shoes in the center, but unfortunately sat in the "soaking seat" and the water went right down my back! But at least my shorts and shoes were dry. We got FPs for TTBAB and did the jungle trek, but when it was getting dark when we went in--I'd only brought two ponchos, one adult and one child, since it had never rained on us before 2PM. When we came out of TTBAB it was pouring. We gave the poncho to DD#2 (DD#1 was already wet, but this didn't make her happy) and I held DS under mine. We sought refuge at the covered by the river seating for Flame Tree, and DH got us some lunch. After that we went to DInoland (another year not doing the Boneyard--last year it was too hot, this year it was too wet!) and babyswapped Dinosaur. Then over to Camp Minnie Mickey to see the Lion King show. THE CM in the queue asked if anyone was from Ohio--he was from Toledo! And the people just in front of us were from our own suburb! They teach at an elementary school, although not the one my kids go too. I couldn't believe it! There are only about 16,000 people in our town!
At the Lion king show Erin was chosen to demonstrate the Lion roar, then both girls got to dance at the end (Ryan slept through most of this). This is my favorite thing at the whole park. We left and did some shopping then we went back to BWV. A quick turnaround, dry clothes, a blank videotape, and out the door. We got on the bus at 3:30, went to MK and hopped a boat, and were at FW by 4:05. Hit their general store, checked in, paid, and got our picture taken (behind a group of 14 girl scouts and about 8 moms! Took him a while). We booked in October, so were front and almost center! It was unbelieveable! The food was good, just the type of stuff we like, and the kids were really starstruck by the show, even Ryan! "Dolly" and "6 Bits" were really interacting with us, esp. the camcorder. The girls were singing and clapping. Erin told Dolly "good job" when she came offstage, and "I LIke your dress', and Dolly was all over her--told us what a great family we had.
After that we took a look at "minnie moo" in the petting zoo (I just had to see it!) and checked out VWL, since we just did a small add=on there. First we looked at the WL lobby and DH was very impressed. Hopefully with the satisfaction he had with the BWV room and the VWL theme, I won't hear any crap about our addon.
We then took the bus to TTC, he monorail to MK (we liked it a lot last year) and the bus to BWV. My kids all tend to sleep on the bus! I wanted to check out the boardwalk area and the festival goin gon but DS didn't feel well and DH had a headache so I went alone. I shopped but only made mental notes, didn't buy anything. Then I bought the kids treats at the BW bakery and came back. DH fell asleep in our room whirlpool!
