Our Anniversary Week at the Happiest Place on Earth!! TR DONE 8/30 SOUVENIR POST SOON

first off.....

:flower3: HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!! :flower3:

sorry i missed it. i've been totally MIA from the disboards lately and i'm slowly but surely catching up on the TRs as i find time. sounds like you had a great day in NYC....glad you got to go there!

oh, about the disney store, i heard that they're closing the big one when the lease expires next year and are going to open a smaller one somewhere in manhattan. but that could totally just be a rumor.

A girl that post here on Dis is working there right now, and she asked about them moving to another location and as of now, they are not. What a bummer.

I'm baaaaaack! Finally! Ok, hopefully this thing will be done within the next week! I need to get done so I can get caught up on other people's TRs and actually comment and stuff! Here we go...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
When I last left off we had just taken a ride through the Haunted Mansion and we were heading over to the attraction Chris has been waiting for for months.....

Country Bears Jamboree! HAHA Chris remembered this from when he was a kid and was really excited to do it LOL I on the other hand wasn't as thrilled but I wasn't against seeing the show either. We went in and the show started shortly with only maybe 10-15 other people in the theater with us.

446.jpg

Then, I fell asleep. LOL I'm not kidding and this now makes 2 shows in WDW I've fallen asleep during!! Seriously, idk what was wrong with me. I think it was the week's worth of running, nonstop, trying to squeeze in everything into such a short time finally catching up to me when I actually got to sit down in the AC. Anyway, Chris loved the show, not a surprise, and I'm sure I'll be going to the show again in Nov/Dec.

Since we had finished the stuff we wanted to do in Frontierland and Liberty Square, we headed over to Adventureland. First up, we rode the Jungle Cruise! I'll let the pictures do the talking here...

This was our tour guide. He was pretty good, super corny

We enjoyed our ride! Definitely a classic in WDW. Next up, Pirates of the Caribbean!! I was reeeeally excited to ride this because I hadn't seen it since the changes and the addition of Captain Jack Sparrow! Of course, with my craptastic camera, no pictures came out from inside the ride.

458.jpg

459.jpg

Chris was excited too!
460.jpg

Of course, we loved the ride! Another amazing classic of WDW. A must do everytime :)

Continued in next post......

continued from previous post....

Some more pictures from Adventureland on the way out..
461.jpg

The area I would definitely want to hit up later for a Dole Whip!
462.jpg

Next we wanted to run across the hub to get to Tomorrowland. However, we got a little caught up...
463.jpg

The new parade was going on!!

Ahhhh :cloud9:

468.jpg

469.jpg

We made it over to Tomorrowland and headed to one of the only rides we really had planned for this area since Space Mountain and the TTA were closed...Buzz Lightyear! I was excited to ride this because since I beat Chris on TSM once, I thought I had a decent chance to maybe win here too.
Some pictures through Tomorrowland..
470.jpg

471.jpg

472.jpg

473.jpg

We got in line and waited maybe 10-15 mins, not bad at all. Actually, we waited the longest for this ride than any ride so far this day. We'd have amazing luck with no waits.
475.jpg

Our ride broke down 2 or 3 times so we tried to rack up lots of points while we were just sitting there...
476.jpg

It didn't really work out that well LOL Still it was super fun. Last thing planned for Tomorrowland was Monster's Inc Laugh Floor. Neither of us had ever done this one and it was sooo cute. We'll definitely do it again. I would have loved for Chris to get picked to be "that guy." Hopefully next time LOL

It was probably around 12:20 now and we had lunch reservations at the Plaza Restaurant for 1:00. We were discussing not eating there and just getting QS. We decided to just head over there and take another peak at the menu to see the prices and if it was worth it to skip it and do QS. We took the "secret passageway" over by the noodle station and used the bathrooms over there as well. Then, over to the Plaza we went.
477.jpg

478.jpg

Next up:: Would we eat at the Plaza? Would our luck with no lines continue?

Haha I have never done Country Bears, but if you fell asleep I don't know if I ever want to!! I absolutely loveeeee the corny captains on Jungle Cruise!!! The cornier the better!

OMG! The country bears I remember them from going to Disney as a kid and the Wildwood Boardwalk also had them! LOL!

If you didn't eat at the Plaza I will scream at you! lol

I LOVE the Plaza!

I never would have guessed Chris was dying to see the Country Bear Jamboree!

Oh, how I love the Jungle Cruise! I adore the campy and corny fun of it!

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY I am so behind and lost we have been gone all summer. I'm trying to catch up with everyone.

Geeze girl, falling asleep during the Country Bears?! My grandpa would be sad if I told him that! :sad2:

HAHAHAHA!

Oh yes, I love the corny Jungle Cruise skippers. We're seriously the only ones who laugh at their jokes anymore. We gotta make them feel good!

Aw darn it, Chris didn't get picked as "That Guy". I hope he does when we go together...because I'll laugh so hard!

Woo! You used my "secret" cut across. :thumbsup2

Sounds like some more great fun at MK!

LOL! Too funny that Chris was excited about Country Bears!! DH hates it! I don't think there's anything wrong with you for falling asleep in CBJ! I've fallen asleep in Hall of Presidents and American Adventure! It's cool and dark and several days of walking and excitement kinda catchup to you!

Interested to see if you ate at the Plaza! We've never been there and I'm considering it for Jan! I'd love to here how it was!

It has the best fries! And the servers are always nice. The Plaza is a tradition of ours ;)

Sorry I haven't done replies in a while, I'm just really itching to get this thing done! I promise I'm reading all of them and will reply soon :)

When we last left off we were indecisive on whether or not we would eat lunch at the Plaza Restaurant where we had a 1:00 ADR or if we would just eat some place QS. After our bathroom break we walked over to the Plaza to check out the menu and see the prices. As I had vaguely remembered, the prices weren't much more than we would have paid if we did a QS lunch so we decided to keep our ADR and eat at the Plaza! We checked in about a half an hour early and they said they would try and seat us as soon as possible. While we waited I, of course, took pictures.
479.jpg

Then, the Move it Shake it Celebrate it Parade started again. I was seriously in the best spot for it! Right in front of the Plaza on the sidewalk! I got to see all the floats as they came down Main Street.
480.jpg

481.jpg

482.jpg

483.jpg

484.jpg

I really love this new parade! After waiting about 15 mins or so our buzzer went off to be seated. Since we had already checked out the menu, we pretty much knew what we wanted. I ordered the rueben on rye and Chris ordered the Philly cheesesteak. The Plaza is really such a cute, quaint little place. Definitely gives you a very homey feeling.
485.jpg

486.jpg

Let me just say our waitress wasn't exactly a peach. She wasn't nasty, just not friendly....at all. Kind of put a bad taste in our mouths but we got over it. As we're sitting there another family walks into the place...and we knew them!! As some of you know, Chris and I met a little over 6 years ago when we worked in the same supermarket together. We both worked there for over 4 years so we knew and remember a lot of the regular shoppers that were there. Well, the family that just walked into the Plaza were regulars at our old job! They were snobs though so we didn't say hi or anything but still, what are the freakin chances?! We were both a little freaked out. Then we saw them complaining about a few things to the waitress so we knew they hadn't changed out of their snobby ways since we'd left the store.

Anyway, our food came out shortly.

The only thing that really turned me off here (besides the tepid waitress) was the fact that the bread on my sandwich was burnt! You can see how dark it is! Granted, it was marble rye bread so parts of it should be dark but not the whole thing! idk how any waiter would serve that or any cook would just let that go through! However, it didn't taste too bad and I'm not one to be picky like that so I just ate it and ripped off any pieces that were toooo burnt. Otherwise, the meal was really delicious!! Chris enjoyed his cheesesteak and aside from the burnt pieces of bread, so was mine.

We were going to check out the dessert menu when we were done but we really weren't starving for any more food so we just decided to wait til later to get a snack. Our bill was only a little more than $20 (I can't remember exactly the price) so we didn't spend much more here than we would have at QS.

We left the Plaza full and content and made it about half way towards the castle. I reached in my bag to grab my sunglasses and they weren't there! I figured I had probably just left them at the Plaza so we walked back in and the waitress was already cleaning off our table. I asked her if she had seen black sunglasses and she said no. I checked the floor and everywhere around the table and no sunglasses. They were gone :( I had just bought them right before we left for the trip. They were Michael Kors glasses! Granted, I bought them at Marshalls for $20 but still, they were Michael Kors! LOL I made it through the whole trip without losing the glasses and then on the last day, they're gone! Ughhh I was upset. Chris offered to buy me another pair but I wasn't really feeling Disney sunglasses. I'd bought them on a previous trip and they broke before the week was even over LOL So I just dealt with no sunglasses. I still haven't replaced them, by the way.

Anyway, on we went towards the castle. The Dream Along with Mickey show was going on so lots of people were in the hub. We were watching a little bit and taking pictures too.
Some nice lady took our picture
489.jpg

Such an inspiration
490.jpg

Chris actually took this picture on his cell phone camera too. Then, the Monday after we got home, I was sitting in class and he texted it to me and said "This time last week, we were in the Animal Kingdom." It made me sad because I missed WDW sooo much but I thought it was cute that he sent that to me and showed me he was missing it too.

Next up:: Fantasyland, getting trapped by another parade and our night at the MK!

Oooh the parade looks sooo fun! I definitely want to see that. If we get there on time maybe we can see if our first afternoon there...

That's so cute about the text Chris sent you. :goodvibes

Wow, great pics from the parade! It looks like Mickey is waving right at you!

I've never been in The Plaza, but I might have to try it! But...your burnt bread scares me! I can't believe they served that!

Ugh, sorry about the rude waitress! And how funny it is that you saw someone from back home...but I can't believe they were rude too! :snooty:

Aw I remember you telling me about losing your sunglasses. :guilty:

That's such a cute pic of you and Chris!

Aw...Chris is such a sweetie..what a cute text.

OK I love that parade, too but I HATE how it stops and goes. If you are in the wrong spot then you sit there and wait for it while you hear the WHOLE THING down the way! It's the same as the one at DHS!! And its such a cute parade so it makes me mad LOL.

I've heard a LOT about bad waitresses at the Plaza lately on here and the dining boards! I wonder if everyone is talking about the same person?!

I'm SOOOOOO sorry about the sunglasses!! I HATE THAT. I don't care if they were $400 from Saks or $10 from the cart in the mall - it's SO hard to find good sunglasses (at least for me b/c I'm picky about them) so when you lose them it is sad :( You should've just gotten some of those pink Hannah Montana ones haha

PS When are you going to be there in December? I just booked my graduation trip! Dec 10-13

I have enjoyed your last two updates. We went to the Plaza for our first time last year. I really liked it. Our waitress wasn't overly nice either, but she was OK. My husband would have HATED having burnt bread. We would have had to send it back. I love your Partners pictures. Looking at them really does make you miss WDW.

I love early mornings when things are a walk-on!

That's the best! And the only reason I get my lazy butt outta bed so early on vacation! LOL

sure.....just make sure you warn me so i can clean all the camera equipment off my kitchen table before you come!!! :rolleyes1

Dawn I know you made Tonga Toast the other day and I still haven't received mine...is it lost in the mail? haha

We ate at Columbia's Harbour for the first time, during our last trip.

Yeahhh because you did the keys to the kingdom tour. We're doing it in December! I'm soooo excitedddd

A five minute wait for Splash??? If only it was always like that!!!

I wishhhhhhh it was always like that but its the perks of getting to the park so early! You know how it is, you guys do it too right?

I love that you took so many pictures...with my little guy I didn't take nearly as many pics as I would have liked...you know, chasing him around and all. but seeing your pics is bringing me right back there!

Aww I can imagine that you don't exactly have time to whip the camera out everytime you need to take a picture when you're running after the baby! Don't worry, my day will come too haha I'm glad my pictures can bring you back to Disney in the middle of the regular world!

Whats up girly!!!!!!!

I can't believe the 5 minute wait for splash!!! Whoa!!!!! :rotfl2:

I just love the themeing on Splash!! :lovestruc

Hey Heather!! 5 mins for Splash was great and the themeing its seriously the best!!

YUM! Love Tonga Toast and those eggs! I'm a vegetarian so I basically lived off of those eggs for breakfast. I feel like they're only 1/2 eggs and 1/2 like butter and cream or something, LOL! I've never been to rope drop at MK but I would probably cry! I loooooveee Columbia Harbor House so I can't wait to hear what you guys thought of it - if you did end up eating there!

Hmmmmm TT and the eggs were yummyyyyyy! Maybe the butter/cream is why they tasted so good!

You should try and get to rope drop at the MK! It's sooo sweet. We didn't eat at CHH unfortunately but we're doing the Keys to the Kingdom tour in December and you eat there when you do the tour so I'm happy about that!

WOW! Sounds like a great morning at MK! Walking on BTMRR and SM?! How could things get any better! Can't wait to here about the rest of the day!

The morning was just perfect so far, especially walking on all the rides!

Hey !! :goodvibes I just got all caught up!!!:) So I saw you said you got something from Tropicana--haha lucky! We got NOTHING from Showboat.. probably because we didn't spend enough money :lmao: but we didn't get to make it down to Tropicana I heard they do give good promotions our and for example you got a room and show--awesome!! WE didn't get to get down there since Showboat was on the complete opposite end of the boardwalk.. my DBF was tired of walking:rotfl: but thats cool! We want to get down there again but with Disney creeping upon us:yay: we need all the money we can save and get right now!!!:upsidedow

Hey Katie! Yeah we got an offer from the Trop but i don't think we can use it because its only good from Sept 8-Oct 8 and Chris and I both have school and work so its not looking good unfortunately. boooo hoooo. We didn't make it down to the Showboat...we're gonnna hafta switch next time haha I don't blame you for not wanting to spend the money when Disney is getting closer and closer!!

We tried the Tonga Toast for the first time on our last trip and it is SO GOOD. Your pictures made me want some so bad! Yum! It sounds like you had a really productive morning at MK. No lines rock!

Hmmmm it's amazingggg! I think its a must do for us everytime we go to WDW now. We definitely had a great morning at the MK, couldn't ask for more!

Don't worry about it. It works for me to stretch things out, 'cause it makes the Disney fun last longer!

Thanks MeMom! You're right, I had a request to make this trip last at least until the 22nd because thats when a few people leave for their summer trips so I guess I did this for them then LOL

I agree with MeMom, take your time! It makes the fun last and fills in the time until our next trips!

Thanks Melissa!! Your next trip is closer than anyone thought!!

That's fine! Take your time i'm sure we'll all be here! :goodvibes Life tends to get in the way sometimes especially in the summertime! I've been running around like crazy between coaching cheerleading(7th and 8th graders) and trying to get stuff togther and pack for disney and some other family activities in the mix. I've been going going going like the energizer bunny! lol.

Thank you Colleen! I at least fulfilled your request to make this last until you go to WDW in a few days! haha Everytime you talk about coaching cheerleading it reminds me of when I danced and being captain of kickline in high school and it brings back good memories! I hope you're almost set for your trip!

I'm still here too!

Thanks Sarah! You leave tomorrow!! ahh!

A girl that post here on Dis is working there right now, and she asked about them moving to another location and as of now, they are not. What a bummer.

That is such a shame :(

Haha I have never done Country Bears, but if you fell asleep I don't know if I ever want to!! I absolutely loveeeee the corny captains on Jungle Cruise!!! The cornier the better!

Country Bears is worth doing once...I just think I'm going to have to do it more than once since Chris loves it haha The corny captains definitely make the Jungle Cruise a classic!

OMG! The country bears I remember them from going to Disney as a kid and the Wildwood Boardwalk also had them! LOL!

I didn't know the Boardwalk in Wildwood has them! So cool! LOL

If you didn't eat at the Plaza I will scream at you! lol

I LOVE the Plaza!

Good thing we ate there, I wouldn't want to get cyber screamed at HAHA

I never would have guessed Chris was dying to see the Country Bear Jamboree!

Oh, how I love the Jungle Cruise! I adore the campy and corny fun of it!

Who would have thought someone would be overjoyed to watch that show?! LOL He was looking forward to it for months, I kid you not. The Jungle Cruise is 100x better because it is corny!!

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY I am so behind and lost we have been gone all summer. I'm trying to catch up with everyone.

Thank youuu!! Don't worry about being behind, I am too! It happens in the summer time.

Geeze girl, falling asleep during the Country Bears?! My grandpa would be sad if I told him that! :sad2:

Chris was pretty disappointed in me LOL

Oh yes, I love the corny Jungle Cruise skippers. We're seriously the only ones who laugh at their jokes anymore. We gotta make them feel good!

We laughed at them too! The corny-ness makes that ride.

Aw darn it, Chris didn't get picked as "That Guy". I hope he does when we go together...because I'll laugh so hard!

Woo! You used my "secret" cut across. :thumbsup2

I hope Chris gets picked as "that guy" too! We'll laugh so hard! And I did use your secret path, thank you!

I can't believe how much Chris likes Country Bears LOL He was excited for that show for months before we went. It's so hard NOT to fall asleep when its so hot out and you hit that nice cool air and darkness after running and running all week long!

The Plaza was yummy! I would give it a shot definitely!

It has the best fries! And the servers are always nice. The Plaza is a tradition of ours ;)

I wasn't too thrilled with our server but we enjoyed the Plaza and would recommend it!

Oooh the parade looks sooo fun! I definitely want to see that. If we get there on time maybe we can see if our first afternoon there...

That's so cute about the text Chris sent you. :goodvibes

Definitely try and see that parade...it seems to come like a million times a day so I think you'll see it at least once HAHA

I thought the text was cute. He's nice to me sometimes LOL

Wow, great pics from the parade! It looks like Mickey is waving right at you!

I'd like to think he WAS waving at me!

I've never been in The Plaza, but I might have to try it! But...your burnt bread scares me! I can't believe they served that!

You should try it there! i'm sure the bread isn't always burnt...at least I hope its not LOL

Ugh, sorry about the rude waitress! And how funny it is that you saw someone from back home...but I can't believe they were rude too! :snooty:

I can't believe we saw the snobs from back home! You and I were just talking about it this morning and then Chris and I went to the mall before and we saw the mother and one of the daughters there!!! Creepyyyyy!!

Aw I remember you telling me about losing your sunglasses. :guilty:

Booooo :(

That's such a cute pic of you and Chris!

Aw...Chris is such a sweetie..what a cute text.

Glad you like the picture! He is pretty sweet sometimes LOL I did like that text.

OK I love that parade, too but I HATE how it stops and goes. If you are in the wrong spot then you sit there and wait for it while you hear the WHOLE THING down the way! It's the same as the one at DHS!! And its such a cute parade so it makes me mad LOL.

Yeaaa that parade is a lot like the DHS one. I think its so cute how they get the kids involved in it!

I've heard a LOT about bad waitresses at the Plaza lately on here and the dining boards! I wonder if everyone is talking about the same person?!

I have heard about the Plaza waitresses too! I hope its not the same person! She should be fired LOL

I would have looked stylin' in some Hannah sunglasses HAHA I desperately need new ones now!!

PS When are you going to be there in December? I just booked my graduation trip! Dec 10-13

Oh mannn we'll be there Nov 29-Dec 5. Its my first semester of grad school and my finals start the 14th so I want to be there the week before them so I don't miss review!

Thank you! We enjoyed the Plaza too but the waitress not so much. I have heard a bunch of people saying they got less than friendly servers there too, not just you and I. That partners picture almost makes me cry. I miss WDW so much!!

Brooklynn loves the Move It, Shake It, Celebrate It! parade. She dances like mad! Good pictures. Sorry the food wasn't the greatest. I guess it would have been a hassle to ask them to do the sandwiches again.
