Kristen, Your last day already?? Great update and I really like those MK PICS!
Can you stretch it out for at least 12 more days ? That will take me to the Sat before I leave
I'll be in Disney that Monday the 24th!
Yesss finally the last day LOL We got back from WDW on April 26, it's about time I finish this thing haha Most likely it will take me at least another week to finish this, that should take you just about until when you leave!! Lucky!!
We had talked about taking the guys over to Captain Cook's for Tonga toast on this trip, but it was one of the 187 things we didn't get done this trip! It is some good stuff, but I like to scrape some of the banana much out. There's a little too much in there for me.
The Magic Kingdom opening show is a dose of happiness!
I'm sure your guys would LOVE TT and probably be able to eat 2 helpings like my BF could probably do LOL Mine didn't have too much banana or else I would be scraping some out too, like you. That MK opening show is the epitome of happiness!
Aww, I love the MK opening show! A while ago I found a website (someone posted a link on the DIS actually) that had all sorts of Disney park music and the opening song was on there! I love listening to it on my ipod. And I am guilty of tearing up during it too. It's just adorable!
That show is so great. I really want to get one of the Disney music CDs next time we're there. I've heard all about them and looked for them on ebay but never could find it. I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets emotional! LOL
first off.....
HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!
sorry i missed it. i've been totally MIA from the disboards lately and i'm slowly but surely catching up on the TRs as i find time. sounds like you had a great day in NYC....glad you got to go there!
Thanks Dawn!! I know life gets in the way of our Dis time and thats perfectly okay! NYC was so much fun!
i was curious about the no tax thing because i don't remember it from when we were there and i found this:
http://manhattan.about.com/od/citylife1/a/taxfreeweeknyc.htm
apparently it's on clothing and footwear....cool!
I knew I wasn't losing it! I told people and everyone in real life and on the Dis kept making it sound like I was wrong or that we just had a tax free day but I knew it was all the time! I asked a store manager and he told me LOL Thanks for letting me know I wasn't going crazy haha
oh, about the
disney store, i heard that they're closing the big one when the lease expires next year and are going to open a smaller one somewhere in manhattan. but that could totally just be a rumor.
that sounds like something I've heard before too. such a shame.
oh, and a morning at MK.......

glad you liked tonga toast! it's in the cookbook i got at world of disney in NYC and i'm totally gonna make it one day soon!
Wow Dawn, send some of that TT up to NY when you make it!!
Oh gosh, Tonga Toast!

Can we please go to Capt. Cook's and get that some morning?!
You don't have to ask me twice, girl! We WILL be there LOL
Great update! I can't wait to experience that opening show at MK. Yay for Rope Drop!
Thanks! You will love the opening show!
OMG! That tonga toast looks soooo yummy and it made me sooooo hungry! I totally agree its worth all 15 million calories! I think I ate half of mine but it was so good!
Yummmm TT is definitely worth it, no matter how many calories. Fried, delicious goodness!
I tear up at the opening show too!
Glad I'm not the only one!
I'd love to be picked to be the opening family too! I read a trip report on here once where the mom had everyone get up insanely early and head to mk. They were the only ones there! The mom struck up a conversation with the CM's standing around at the front gate and they talked for awhile and they got picked to be opening family!! The mom had planned it out so that they would hopefully be picked and it worked!
Your MK pictures are giving me a longing for WDW!!! I can't wait to read more!
Thats so cute what the mom did for her family! You should try that with your gang one day. I may in my future LOL I can't believe we have to wait so long to get back to WDW. Aren't all these people with summer and fall trips making you sooo anxious?!
Wow. That Tonga Toast looks soooooooo good. So I've been to Disney World like 20 times and I have NEVER been to a rope drop. I guess with 7 people in your family being slow in the morning it never happens. I had no idea they did a little show before opening. That is soo cool.
I got all excited for you to go into magic kingdom just looking at the pictures!
Have you ever tried TT? You NEED to just like you NEED to get to the MK rope drop! LOL I can understand it would be reeeeally hard to do that with 7 people though. It's so adorable though, I would totally recommend it.
Haha, Sis screamed so loud when he scared her! I'm sorry for making you nervous about getting on! To make you feel better, I should let you know that I get nervous getting on every time!
Aw..but see, you still have pictures to look at and remember all those memories.
Oh good, so B/F isn't the only one who gets those 5 o'clock shadows and does nothing about it.

What would Chris and him do without us?!
LOL That was allllll I could think of as we loaded our doombuggy! I haaaaaaaate having people jump out at me and would have gotten so scared! LOL
Those memories are totally getting me through until the next time I'm at WDW! Can't wait to be there and make memories with your and your B/F
Chris drives me crazy with shaving! He probably does like 2 or 3 times a week and in between he looks like a homeless person! LOL Don't tell him I said that though! haha
And have us all over for breakfast?
Oh, Dawn, how sweet of you!!!
I'm saying, she needs to be sending some of that stuff up to NY and over to you in TN!
I LOVE the Magic Kingdom. I know exactly what you mean about getting teary eyed watching the opening show. I saw it for the first time last year and thought it was great.
I love that place too, definitely my favorite park now. It's amazing how I just get emotional thinking about it and the opening show!
First off, you update soo quick- I can never keep up! hehe I wish I could be so quick.. I need to speed mine up. hehe
No way, I'm a slacker! I've been writing this TR for almost 4 months! LOL
ok Holy CRAP- the tonga toast looks amazing.. my mouth is practically watering. I'm going to put that on my MUST DO no matter what list. hehe I remember hearing about it before and telling myself to do it. But I forgot once we were there. Where is it at again? I know thats at Captain Cook's but is it a resort?
Seriously, you MUST MUST try TT. It's heavenly. It's sold at Kona and Capt Cooks in the Poly.
awww.. you got to MK before it opened! Lucky you! I didn't get to do that last time.. thanks for sharing the pics. I want to be that family to!
One day that family will be mine!! haha
Wow.. MK looked busy in your picture.. but by the sounds of it.. it wasn't that busy with barely no wait. I also love the horses.. I told Austin that I wanted to pet and play with the horses instead of riding anything.. hehe They are soo beautiful.
Nah it wasn't busy, it only looks like that because the park just opened. Everyone runs in at once and stuff.
I love your pics from Splash Mountain.. I also love the theming of this ride. This is the main reason I love it soo much.. cause I don't really care for the whole "get really wet- drop off" but the rest of the ride is worth the sacrifice. hehe DH would love your pics of it. Thats his favorite ride of all time. We must of rode it 10 times. hehe
I'm glad someone else appreciates this rides themeing too. It's an older ride yet such a great one. We didn't even get very wet at all on it. Show Austin your pics, make him wanna go back! haha
