Our Anniversary Week at the Happiest Place on Earth!! TR DONE 8/30 SOUVENIR POST SOON

Sounds like you had a great birthday in the city!! DH and I went to the city last July without the kiddos and I was sooo thankful that it wasn't hot out!

It sounds like you made our really well with your shopping in the city! Woohoo for all the sales!!

I can't believe WOD was closed when you guys went up there!!!! Have you ever been there?! It's super cute! Although I expected it to be bigger! I'm so sad that it's closing! It's like a little piece of WDW closer to home!!

Thanks for the info on the Hibachi place!! We may have to try it!! We loved the one we went to one our honeymoon!

Sounds like fun! Me and Keith havent really gone to the city for a day together yet..we were supposed to this summer but id rather save my money for disney lol & i know what you mean about taking pics, even tho i wanna take tons of pics next week im sure im gonna get angry having to hold my camera 24/7.. :goodvibes

Gosh, I'm SO mad at you for not taking pics...NOT..:rotfl2:

Glad you got your birthday card...and liked it..and had a good day with Chris. Sounds like you got some good stuff.

Okay, so I'm back on the Dis and finally caught up with your TR (I restarted mine last night) and wanted to first say "Happy Birthday".

First, when DH and I were on our honeymoon we went to DQ because he loves video games and we had unlimited access to all of Disney...I got soooooo sick on the virtual reality Aladdins Magic Carpet ride and had a small panic attack because I couldn't get that heavy head gear off. As sick as I felt I remember feeling bad because I had to leave...I think I sat down for an hour while he played some games but I really felt too yucky. We did have a blast in the "bumper car" ride...although he drove and I shot the balls. We also did the virtual rollercoaster and that was pretty fun too.

As many times as we've been to Disney, I've never done OMD at DHS. After your recommendation I'll be doing that next time. I totally agree about the quality of Sunshine Seasons at EPCOT too. I just wish we had more time because DS loves trains and he would have loved to see the trains in Germany, but that wasn't in the cards for us really.

Teppan Edo was our Table Service one night and I'll definitely say we will be doing it every time we go. My only issue with the restaurant was that because we were a party of 12 8 sat together and the other 4 had to sit with 2 other couples. DH, DS, my sister and I were the 4 to sit with the other couples. One was probably pushing 50 and the others were on their honeymoon, maybe early 30's.

It started out fine, but then the jerk 50 year old guy told the waiter that "we" all wanted to see the show so he could skip the fancy stuff and just cook our food. I was PO'D because I knew DS would love to see the cool cooking techniques. And, I was so shocked that I didn't say anything...another thing I'm annoyed with. It was fun and the food was good, but you're right, the hibachi joint that we go to here (not as often as I'd like) have more quantity and more included...but we loved TE despite the annoying table mates and will definitely do that again.

I know I've mentioned this before, but it's so fun reading your TR and trying to remember where I was when you were doing your things. Because we were down there the exact same time yet never were in the same place at the same time.

You're doing an awesome job with your TR. I'm looking forward to your MK update!

I love Norway.. I wish it was bigger. You definietly have to ride Maelstrom. Its wayyy different then we expected. We expected a slow riding boat with statues and things around and it be like a history thing.. well when we got off.. we both said "wow that was different" hehe but its pretty cool actually. And when you get off the ride- the little city is cute.

I went into Kringla after we ate and I was practically drooling over all the yummy things. But I waited to come back when I actually wanted a snack or hungry.. and I never did. :sad1:

That Margarita looks awesome.. I would of been soo disappointed.

I took pics during Illuminations but they didn't turn out so good either. Next time I'm not going to. We also had EMH the night we seen Illum.. it was pretty sweet. I love being there when its dark.

Definetely try Biergarten. DH and I tried it this time and although we weren't fond of the whole "sitting a table with strangers" I really like the food, DH really like the beer but not so much the food. He wasn't impressed but I liked it. And the atmosphere and the bands and stuff is just too fun. Now sitting with strangers isn't so bad.. everyone is very nice but its like we felt obligated to talk to them the whole time and we would much rather sit together and enjoy the restaurant, band and food without that feeling. Especially cause Austy doesn't isn't that type of person.

Ohh by the way, Happy Birthday! I'm a little late but it seems you had a great day anyways. You're lucky to be able to just take a train to NYC... I would love to go there someday.

Ok. All caught up now!! hehe

Oh no. When's the NYC World of Disney store closing?

I might be going to NYC for the first time in the fall.

Kristen, I'm glad your birthdayturned out good,
and you found some nice things!

Hey--glad you had a nice birthday!! Sounds like you guys had a great time in NYC! Thats one of my boyfriends and I's favorite spots to go too! Awww no worries about the camera thing--that makes complete sense!!!

Hey! Happy late birthday. It sounds like you had a blast in NY. I've been there a few times and I could totally picture all of the places that you went. It made me want to visit again.

My bday was a lot of fun! The city is NOT fun when its super hot out, luckily it was hot while we were there but not stiffling. It made it worse that we walked in a circle lol My shopping deals made me sooooo happy though, so I wasn't worried about the heat after that HAHA

I have been to WoD before, I was there back in May when we saw the Lion King. Its great I was so sad it closed when we got there. It closes at 8, in the city that never sleeps!? Can you believe that?! Definitely try that hibachi place if you guys get the chance!

:goodvibes

You're either on your way or in WDW right now!!! Luckyyyyy! You guys should definitely take a day trip to the city, its only like $20 round trip for the train and there's a lot of stuff to do that doesn't cost much. Chris and I have been a bunch of times, we try to go every few months. I can't wait to see all your Disney pics!

Gosh, I'm SO mad at you for not taking pics...NOT..:rotfl2:

Glad you got your birthday card...and liked it..and had a good day with Chris. Sounds like you got some good stuff.

HAHA when we meet I'll show you some NYC pics...hopefully you will come visit me on the Island and I can take you there too! I lovedddd the birthday card! Thank you so much girl!!

Okay, so I'm back on the Dis and finally caught up with your TR (I restarted mine last night) and wanted to first say "Happy Birthday".

I'm glad you're back! I'll have to hop over to your restarted TR. Thanks for the bday wishes.

OMG those VR rides in DQ are terrible. I totally felt the same way as you, I just couldn't shake the sick feeling after getting nauseous. I hated that heavy head gear. You'll never catch me on the magic carpet ride! The Buzz Lightyear Astroblasters was soooo much fun though, can't wait to do that again!

You should totally try OMD next time you're in Disney. Great tribute to an amazing man. SS is so good, can't wait to try that again. You HAVE to bring your DS to see the trains in Germany so I guess that means another trip to WDW...darn! LOL

Teppan Edo was our Table Service one night and I'll definitely say we will be doing it every time we go. My only issue with the restaurant was that because we were a party of 12 8 sat together and the other 4 had to sit with 2 other couples. TE was really good, we'll definitely do it again sometime too. That is crappy that you guys had to be split up!

OMG i can't believe that idiot did that!! Especially with a kid at the table! That is so disappointing! And yeah, we totally get more stuff at our local hiabchi place but like you said, will still do TE again.

I know I've mentioned this before, but it's so fun reading your TR and trying to remember where I was when you were doing your things. Because we were down there the exact same time yet never were in the same place at the same time.

You're doing an awesome job with your TR. I'm looking forward to your MK update!

Thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying it all :)

We will definitely be riding Maelstrom next time we're in WDW. I'm excited to see what its all about.

I went into Kringla after we ate and I was practically drooling over all the yummy things. But I waited to come back when I actually wanted a snack or hungry.. and I never did. :sad1:

Kringla was good, I want to try the schoolbread!

That Margarita looks awesome.. I would of been soo disappointed.

ick gross!!!!

I took pics during Illuminations but they didn't turn out so good either. Next time I'm not going to. We also had EMH the night we seen Illum.. it was pretty sweet. I love being there when its dark.

yeah, i didn't even attempt Illuminations pictures. Next time when I have a better camera!

Definetely try Biergarten. DH and I tried it this time and although we weren't fond of the whole "sitting a table with strangers" I really like the food, DH really like the beer but not so much the food. I'm excited to try Biergarten. Chris will talk to ANYONE so we probably won't mind sitting with other people as long as they're nice! LOL I can't wait to hear all about your experience there.

Ohh by the way, Happy Birthday! I'm a little late but it seems you had a great day anyways. You're lucky to be able to just take a train to NYC... I would love to go there someday.

Thank you!! It's ok that you're late LOL I love being so close to NYC, its great.

Ok. All caught up now!! hehe

Oh man, I can't believe no one's been on! I soooo wish I got the Dis at work! We should totally try to meet up in NYC one day. It's about the same distance for us from where we are on the island. Usually we take the train from like 20 mins from our house and then the ride is like an hr and 20 mins. If we drove it'd be shorter, prob an hr and 15 mins total but the train is just more convenient. Plus, I'm too scared to drive in Manhattan LOL

I heard a little bit about that crash! I hope everyone's alright although is doesn't sound too good :sad2:

Yeah Kristen if your old then I don't want to know what I am! LOL!

Sounds like 9 people died in that crash today over the hudson most were italian tourists , I believe! I think they said there was one survivor! :sad1:

Your birthday out in NYC sounds like a blast! Did I read your post right? The NYC Disney Store went out of business!? :confused3 You guys packed a lot of stuff into one day! And ya got some great shopping deals! Is NYC tax free all the time? We're having tax free weekend here right now...on school clothes, computers, etc.
