Finally, with 2 days to go, we sat down and decided on our ADRs, lol:rotfl2:

I think with all the planning we did last year, with pre-wedding and wedding meals for lots of people, we're being very relaxed about it this time. Plus, we found that we were able to book last minute ADRs if we weren't fussy, so we're just laid back altogether! However, as we have the dining plan we wanted to get our main choices booked.

Anyway, we decided on:

Dinner at Sanaa (first time)
Dinner at Citricos (been once before)
Breakfast at 1900 Park Fair (first time)
Fantasmic dinner package - Mama Melrose (first time)
Dinner at Thew Wave (first time)
Dinner at Kouzzina (first time)

We're also going to pay OOP for Chef Mickeys breakfast on our last day in Orlando so we're full for the drive down to Fort Lauderdale.

Our QS choices include:

Columbia Harbour House (favourite!)
Earl of Sandwich (favourite!)
Main Street Bakery
Sunshine Seasons (favourite!)
Starring Rolls (favourite!)
Wolfgang Puck Express (have eaten in the main restaurant before)

At Universal we plan on:

Bubba Gump
Margaritaville - not visited either before.

Off site we will be eating at Sweet Tomatoes (x2) and trying Bob Evans, on recommendation from my mum.

I love your choices! How strange to see someone on here NOT stressed by ADRs. I have made a mental note that you are the one to contact in the guaranteed event of the next batch of stressed DISers re. ADRs!!! I shall be referring all and sundry to you for relaxation therapy. :rotfl2:

Seriously though, remember to let us all know how it went! :)

By the way, of your CS choices, 6 out of your 7 are our faves as well. I would say you have good taste! ;)

Thankfully we had no stress over this years. Last year we didn't have a clue, wondered if we would have enough to eat or if we would get what we wanted. Also worst was having to ring, far easier online.
This year I knew it would easier at 180 days instead of 90 last year and I know we won't be hungry anywhere. Just wrote a list of best from last year and new we want to try, changed a couple last minute, still a few to do but stress free so far.

You have Sanaa down, its one we have had on list 2 years now and removed last minute both times, something stopping me booking it.
Looked at Kouzzina, didn't like look of menu there.
We also have The Wave and Mama Melrose for 1st time.

Good taste, absolutely ;):worship::rotfl2:

I think having planned the wedding last year, and all sorts of things we arranged for the honeymoon, this year's 2 weeks are a breeze, lol! My school is also currently in special measures, so haven't had much time to stress about anything other than that - it has also reminded me to value my holiday time even more :goodvibes

I'm looking forward to doing online booking :thumbsup2

Sanaa is one that we're intrigued by - we love Indian food (not just your standard Indian takeaway style, my SIL's family is from Goa so we've eaten a lot of home cooking!) and we used the pool at Kidani last year when we had our night at AKL (recommended by the guy who delivered our in-room brekkie!) and are interested to check out the rest of it.

Great choices, we ate breakfast nearly everyday at 1900 park fare during our honeymoon

Very nice choices! Citricos always gets rave reviews and one I really want to try. Mama Melrose I always enjoy, definitely the best one out of the 3 for the package. Really hope you get everything you want

Hi,

We tried Sanaa last year, (DS's choice), and found the dishes really mild, (but I think that is quite standard for American tastes) and the chicken wasn't breast meat, which is all my kids will eat!
We wouldn't go back, simply because we like our indian food to be more spicy, but the restuarant was nice, and the view of the animals' were great! (We had a 5pm reservation)
One other thing, the air conditioning was on full blast, so it was quite cool in there(maybe take a cardi?):goodvibes
We also plan to go to 1900 Park Fayre for breakfast (have done it once before), and the Mama Melrose package, as we may be taking a friend of the girls', and I think she would love it:thumbsup2

Good luck with your Ofsted Tracy! We're hoping they come in for the next monitoring visit the first week back, so it gets it over with while we're fresh! Was in school for 3 and a half hours writing my Year 8 reports this morning - I have 4 classes! But at least I won't be stressing at the end of next week like others might be when the deadline approaches ;)

As for signature dining, we're trying as many as possible while we don't have kids!

We're also now thinking we will try to get lunch with an imagineer too...

Thanks for the hint on the cardi! I'm not too fussed on the food being really spicy, as long as there is good flavour :)

Been to Ghirardelli's a few times but with price increases didn't think they were worth the prices last time we went, not as generous portions as they used to be.

Only had Kitchen sink at Beaches & Cream but their other Sundaes look better than Ghirardelli's. Think we will try theirs next time.

We never ended up getting to try the kitchen sink last year, and now we're back to the two of us! Definitely must try and get out to Beaches and Cream on an Epcot day though :cheer2:

The menu has changed a bit since we were there, but I went for the New York Strip, and enjoyed it:thumbsup2 We all liked the bread and pickles/hummus starter aswell!

You have a 4-course lunch at the Brown Derby in a private dining room. There is a group of up to 8 people and you lunch with an imagineer, which seems to last between 2 and 3 hours. You can ask them questions about all sorts of imagineering things :cool1:

You also get a personalised commemorative plate at the end - all the reviews I've read have been positive, and DH would love to be an imagineer!

Must be the year of inspections!!

We had one back in autumn. But it was a hugely positive experience - I don't mind anyone watching me teaching. :goodvibes

We had no areas for development - can't believe it was all good - no follow - up!! YAY!

Well done with your ADRs.

Glad you had a good inspection!

Our department (Drama) wasn't visited in the main inspection, or the first monitoring visit. We have really good results; it is core subjects (mainly maths) that are causing a lack of 5 A*-Cs! Mind you, the Year 7s are coming in with really poor literacy, so you wonder how we're supposed to help them. I'm marking Year 9 BTEC coursework and the spelling and grammar is appalling!

I would quite like them to come and see our department - we know we're doing things right, we'd just like someone to come and acknowledge it!

Well, we got everything we wanted - almost everything at the exact time we requested, and one or two within 10 minutes :cool1:

Only small blip was that Telesavers sent me back to the main menu when I was on hold with Disney Dining for the Fantasmic package - bizarre :confused3 Anyway, just started the process again and waited 20 minutes before gettig what we wanted. Luckily it's only 1p a minute through Telesavers, even if they did cut me off, lol!

And the bonus was that I got nearly all my marking done while waiting :woohoo:
