Our 2nd Trip in 3 Years. This Time, She's In On It (Dec 2012) CP Narrator Update 9/13

Plans are looking good!!! So you're gonna do the MVMCP on Sunday night?? We figured the weekend nights would be busy!! I think we're looking at a Thursday night.

We're looking forward to Boatwrights!! We love that style of food & the reviews all seem pretty favorable.

We went on Sunday last time and it wasn't bad. I think because a lot of people use Sunday as a travel day. So either people from the week are gone, or the newcomers are still trying to get acclimated after traveling.

Well that makes sense!! :upsidedow

Yesterday, I was in line at the ATM of a branch of my bank. The man in front of me, finished his business and took off like he was in a hurry. I use the ATM and in the cash well was an extra $20 bill. I figured it was his. I had to wait til my business was done, and get my ATM card, then I left to see if I could catch him. I went up and down the block once, but didn't see him. I figured, I'd swing by the bank today at lunch to see what I could do.

This morning, on the way to work, I had to stop at the Stop n Shop and get quart of cream for my coffee (I keep a full pump thermos at my desk). I stopped by the lottery vending machine to get a scratch. It was turned off because it wasn't supervised. Oh well (this factors in later).

At lunch, I go to the same bank branch to talk to a manager to try to get the guy, from yesterday, his $20. I showed them the receipt from the night before with the timestamp. They tell me all the scenarios of what they can or can't do. And finish with, "Or you can just keep the $20?" I said it was never mine to begin with, and then I deposited my bouncer check from working at the bar. They told me that they would make a note of the issue. See if the stack in the ATM comes up light and monitor any customers that put in a complaint that they were shorted by $20.

On the way back to work, I go back to Stop n Shop to get some chowder. On the way out, I get 2 $2 scratch tix. Between those 2 tickets I won $29. And as I've stated before, I parlay winners into Disney gift cards. These winners allow us to buy another $50.

I have to wonder "IF":

If I hadn't try to find the man instead of just pocketing the money?

If the lottery machine wasn't turned off this morning?

If I had taken the manager's offer to keep the $20...?

If I hadn't been craving chowder instead of the lunch fixins I keep in my work fridge?

Coincidence or Karma?

Day 4

This Monday might be the most important day where my 6' 300 lbs frame comes in handy. This will be our Downtown Disney day. I'm already thinking of changing my name from Sean to Sherpa. Thank goodness this will be our sleep-in day.

But in all fairness, I know I'll be going there with BDLsgal, SIL (DIS ID: monkeegirl66) and LIL (DIS ID: BDLslil) I'm still pretty certain that 1/2 the cargo will be mine. Especially, if the rumor of them bringing back Disney character hockey and football jerseys is true. But I believe a bulk of the load will be form the Christmas store. Some of those ornaments are 100% irresistable. Speaking of irresistable, one of the things we said we'd do last trip but never got to it, is a must this trip. Ghiradelli... Mmmmmmm...... CHOCOLATE......... Ghiradelli, may be a must do, but our primary meal, will be at Raglan Road. Probably mid-afternoon. When we told LIL about this place, this was probably THE MOST SOLID REQUEST that I got from her throughout the organizing process. When we're done with the shopping, we have the option of a quick bite or a leisurely boat ride back to POR and getting a bit there. Then it's pool (weather permitting), walking the grounds, a drink or 2 at River Roost or good night's sleep and take the time to enjoty the RGR (maybe get some bev-ies from the gift shop for this too :drinking1 ).

Day 5

I think we'll use this as our non-rushed EPCOT day. We will just roam around. Take in the countries. Enjoy the storytellers. Listen to a full set from Joyful. Take our time in Mouse Gear. Take in the rides and agian and ride the onse that we missed. And DEFINITELY get our Karamel Kuche' fix. The one thing that I am not sure of is if I try for a Princess Breakfast at Akershus. BDLsgal and I liked the family style offerings (YAY!!!!! cheesey potatoes). SIL and LIL seem a little indifferent about going. This may be a wait and see. While here, I'll start thinking about who wants what for Christmas. Sure, we'd have already bought some shirts and souvenoirs as Christmas gifts. But also like getting somthing from the glass works and then getting it personalized. There is always at least 1 friend or family member, who will want 1 of the blankets from Mexico (Seriously, those blankets are awesome). So I will always keep my head on a swivel.

Also... And I don't want to jinx it... I may need some help with this one... THIS, may be the day (dramatic pause)... That I attempt to drink around the world. It's a big untertaking. I've never tried it before. Where do you think I should start? Canada for the Molson and/or whiskey? Or Mexico with a shot of tequilla and/or Dos Equis (XX)? This will take some deliberation.

Well, I have only 1 more hopeful wish list to post. Day 6 & 7.

T-minus 36 hrs 11 min til my ADR window opens.

We totally failed at drinking around the world. And that's even coming from altitude to sea level! I got more than half, though. But then I had a bad night :( lol
I like starting in Mexico. It's easier to slam back a Moulson than to drink a margarita or take a tequila shot. Save the easy drinks for last.

Good plans so far!

:drinking1 Drinking around the world would be fun but WOOF, I'd get a little tipsy.....not sure I want to spend my time at Epcot loopy......lol

Here it is, the last 2 days, but first, a couple of adendums to Days 4 & 5.

I may make some changes to our mid-trip. In stead of taking a cushy night on our DTD day, we may try to catch Fantasmic!. I could also try to get F! on our 2nd EPCOT day. Either way, I'm still trying to drink around the world ;) .

Day 6

This day is the park hopping-est day of our trip. This will be the day that we go on any rides that we might have missed, ran out of time, or was closed due to capacity. For some reason, I think Toy Story Midway Mania and the Safari might be on this list. This will probably be our last shopping day. This will be the last day that we can buy things in the park and have them shipped to our resort (before a certain point).

Day 7

This is the saddest day of the trip. The day we wake up and pack. I will try to book a flight as late in the afternoon as possible. This will free us up to leave our luggage at the waiting area and then go to the different parks and take in any sites we want and take any pics. Then, it is off to MCO and back to reality. Well, sort of. I arranged it so that we will all take the next day off. Giving us a 3 day weekend to recover and reminisce.

There you have it. Let the awry-ness begin.

Over the past 2 days, I have been combing the Disney Dining page. So far I have pretty much gotten everey res I wanted. But... I gotta say, it is a little frustrating with the blocked out ADR's for the most desired EPCOT restaurants. Of course, I say that now. Fast forward 6 weeks from now at 6:01am, and I'll be cursing "WHY CAN'T THEY BLOCK UP THESE RESERVATIONS FOR THE CP?!?!?"

That being said, here are my ADR's so far:

Kona Cafe story:

BDLsgal and I were in the car and talking about Kona Cafe. And I came up with the idea that between the 4 of us, we order for the table, 3 orders of macadamia nut pancakes and 3 orders of Tonga Toast. BDLsgal stared and me and veto'd the suggestion with a very stern look. I WANT my Tonga Toast." So, sensing the seriousness or the situation, I revised my statement. "Orrrrrrrr... How about we get 3 orders of macadamia nut pancakes and 4 orders of Tonga Toast." This met with approval.

I actually said it would be too much food - but yes I admit I want my own tonga toast. With the strawberry compote it was sooooooo yummy. It was like having dessert for breakfast....can't go wrong with that! :yay:

The plans look great!! I just hope they don't open up those restaurants at Epcot the last week of this month.....I'll be at camp all week with no internet!!! :scared: (I am gonna have a friend keep an eye on things & give her ALL my info to take care of it, if they do......someone listed June 26??)

:rotfl: That Tonga Toast is the biggest reason we're going to the Kona Cafe......I'm hoping my family will mix it up with orders so we get to try a lot of things & can take massive food porn pics!! :thumbsup2

I just posted this in the December 2012 Roll Call, so I figured I'd post it here too. It is amazing how the slightest things in life can be a boomarang. Putting yourself out, just a little... Going the extra mile to help someone you don't even know... All I can say is that I hope I can live up to keep paying it forward.

My local Stop & Shop is doing buy a $50 gift card and get a $10 off you next purchase back.

Thanks to JLa01844 and Karma, I am even closer to paying off our trip. As some of you know, I recently had an integrity testing, Karma moment See here . It looks like Karma wasn't done with me. I had reached another $50 total of winning lottery tix. So I went to my local Stop n Shop (like JLa suggested), and cashed them in. The total came to $52. I took the $50 for the Disney gift card and bought a nother $2 scratch ticket. At check out, I received the $10 coupon. When I got to the car, I scratched the ticket and hit for $40. $40 + $10 coupon = another $50 gift card.

So, for basically $0 out of pocket (I know it's not really "0") I walked out of Stop n Shop with $100 in Disney gift cards.

And, speaking of food porn, I give you...
