Our 1st trip as a family of three!----Update 11/3 Our Favorites/Trip Wrap-Up

Which cd to do you have? Is it the 4 parks on 1 cd that you posted a pic of on your TR? I need to get one. I do have to say, that even though we felt like cattle, it was pretty efficient.

No, the 4 parks CD has music from different rides and from different areas of the parks. Wishes has it's own dedicated CD, that's all that is on it. I got it as part of a set that I ordered from the online Disney store.

I love Wishes too! If I watch videos of it, I always get goose bumps and just so happy! What cd do you have that has the music for Wishes? I need to get one!

I need to remember to take more pics on TTA next time. I was kicking myself that I had just put the camera away on one of the rides, and then the ride stopped in SM with the lights ON! I I wish I had gotten a photo of the tracks.

Old Navy always has such fun seasonal stuff. I need to get some of those collectible tees with the 30% discount!

Like the previous poster just wrote, Wishes has it's own cd. I really want to buy the 4 Parks 1 World cd next month. You can never have enough Disney music! I also have the IllumiNations cd. It's wonderful!

I took pics of Space Mtn with the lights on!!! My DH actually rode Space with the lights on. He said it was really lame. The photos I took are in my Jan TR (which is combined with my Jan PTR).

I love working at ON....especially for the discount! Did you get the 30% off coupon I posted on FB? If so...awesome!

I think it's "interesting" when others talk about me in another language, particularly Spanish. It happened on the bus when I was in high school and then in college. I just so wanted to turn around and explain to them that I took 3 years of Spanish in HS and 2 in college, so they should really be careful about what they say. Instead of dealing with a confrontation, I just inwardly giggled and shook my head at the fact that they had no way of knowing that I knew Spanish!

Wow, those people who had to cut in front of you had SUCH a great advantage by being one person closer to riding. Look at them, thinking they were all sneaky and such. Those things bother me so much. Did your parents not teach you how to wait on line?

Cool, I've never heard of The Fountain before. Can't even imagine how many tortilla chips they gave you if you were able to snack on them for the rest of your trip!

Hehe, how cute that DD thought you were taking her on AstroOrbiter! I vaguely remember thinking that once as a kid (before I realized that even if you go up to a ride, you can always turn around and not ride it). I had to reassure myself that the crazy line by the elevator was the ride I was avoiding!

HOW ADORABLE that you could only see DD's head above the steering wheel! Those pics are absolutely precious!

I think I will definitely have to put that 4 parks 1 World cd on my "future shopping list" for Disney.

I think part of the fun of SM is that the ride is in the dark so you have no idea what is around you! It sure isn't the smoothest ride out there!

I actually got the 30% discount in my email. I have to figure out what exactly I "need" to get. I do want to use that as an excuse to stock up on some tees for my little one. I love how cute they are. Plus I love that they just came out with NFL ones too! Just in time for football season!

Awesome! I just went and used mine today at ON. I was going there to shop for Madison, but only ended up getting her a long sleeve t-shirt! There wasn't really anything else that she wanted/needed. I went to Kohl's yesterday and bought her a few new things.

I love the NFL stuff too! Last year, we only had boys thermal shirts and men's t-shirts to choose from. I love that they made stuff for girls and women this year too. I LOVE football! I actually bought myself a girls XL Bills long sleeve t-shirt. I'll take pics and post them on my PTR!

Right? I don't get why many people assume that just because you are asian you may not understand them. I went to Miami with my BFF once in college and she told all of her friends that they need to watch what they say around me because I understand Spanish. She also told me not to be offended when they would call me "china" since that is just the way her friends speak down there. So i was fine with that. What gets to me sometimes is when random people just start asking me "So, where are you from?" because of course when I say, Virginia.....there response is inevitably "No, I mean, where are you REALLY from." Apparently just because I am asian, does not mean I can be from the US? Rant over.

We had never heard of the Fountain before either. The only place at teh Swan and Dolphon resorts that we had heard of and wanted to try one day was Todd English's Blue Zoo. We actually enjoyed our meal at the Fountain and we had our very last character meal at the resort and loved it. I'll post that up soon since I am close to the end. There are just so many good places to eat at WDW, it's hard to make any decisions!

I loved that she couldn't see out of the car unless she leaned her head out the side. Not exactly the best driving technique, but she tried her best. We were swerving left and right like crazy. I had to keep a close arm around her because I was afraid she was going to fly right out!

I wanted to order some things online so I could grab things from all the stores and then run into ON in person too. I can't wait to see the NFL shirts in person. I wanted to try those on and get some Pats gear. Do you think I should go for an adults S or a girls XL like you did? you may be teenier than me, though. I love football too! Don't hate me because we root for opposite teams. My cousin is a Bills fan and he is yelling at me over the phone via texts before games because I root for both the Pats and the Redskins (I grew up right outside of DC) and he hates any team that ever beat the Bills.

Kohl's has such cute things for kids, too!

That sounds like a good idea. The girls shirts from ON have sparkles, so that's why I went for that shirt. Plus, at my store they actually have XXL shirts for girls (size 16), but that one was way too big. The XL fits perfectly...just like a woman's xs/small. The girls ones are long sleeved and the womens ones are short sleeved. I already own a bunch of Bills short sleeved shirts.

I won't hate you because your a Pats fan, but I do have to do this...BOOOO!!!! Sorry. The Pats are the most hated team in my family and it's mostly because of an ex-friend of my DH. He was just obnoxious!!!! Ok, rant over. I just love football in general and pretty much every team in the league has beaten my Bills.

Kohl's has great girls clothes! I'm going to post pics on my PTR now. :goodvibes

Sounds like I will have to go to the store and check out the shirts to see if I like them before deciding. Most likely I will walk out with both a short sleeve and a long sleeve Pats shirt!

I understand about the hatred for the Pats. Since I didn't grow up in NE, it took me a while to come around to the Pats, but I love football so much, I grew to love the Pats. I still can't stop rooting for the Skins though. My hatred for the Cowboys stems from where I grew up. I do have to say, Boston sports fans are crazy, and that is probably why I have yet to become a Red Sox fan. That and I don't really follow baseball, too boring for me. Plus, I work right in Boston, so driving into work on Sox game nights is a nightmare.

Heading over to your PTR now!

Ah yes, my DH works with a guy who grew up in the DC area. His whole family loves the Redskins, but he's a Cowboys fans!!!! :scared1: Crazy. Bills fans are nuts too (don't all teams have some nutcases?). I can't stand baseball (I too think it's boring. I need hitting and all that) and that is my DH's fav sport. I watched him play it, but I can't watch it on tv. He is a Tigers fan but despises the Yankees. He was so excited when the Sox won the World Series in 04!

Your lunch sounds great! Mmm...enough chips for the whole week, you say? Not bad!

Too funny that she thought you were getting on astro-orbiter. I LOVE TTA, I would drag my kids on that kicking and screaming if I had to. I think TTA is my DS's idea of a roller-coaster too. He wouldn't like anything faster. (On the plus side, this was an easy way to not have to spend any money on rides at the fair. He would ask, "Is that ride fast, Mommy?" and I would say, "Yes, it's much too fast for you." irregardless of what it was. Is that wrong? Haha)

I'm glad she got on the carrousel, and that she loved the speedway! You really can't see her face over that steering wheel. You were brave, getting in that car!

The pictures of wishes are SO beautiful. That first picture of the shooting star...aww, makes me cry just thinking about it. It's the best part of the whole fireworks show!

I'm happy to hear that disney cattle-herded you out of the park quickly and effectively. Not the best part of the night, but a necessary one!

Eek! I don't think I want to ride Astro Orbiter - soo high up! Looks like your little guy was way more adventerous than my little gal! She would ask us if we were in line for a ride each time since she was afraid of all rides!

haha, Just wait...he isn't all that adventerous. You'll have to wait for that update!

Hi there! So sorry for my long absence, but I haven't been on the Dis in weeks. Since I work at a school, the month of August is horrible for me every year and I barely have a life of my own between my own work and Todd's volleyball team. It is so nice to have a Saturday morning to be lazy for once!

I got caught up on your last 3 updates. I really like all of your character shots at DHS. Dylan is just starting to watch the Einsteins and he REALLY likes it. I think we will be spending a lot of time looking for characters at that park the next time we are there.

Hope your summer has been fantastic!

I totally bought the Pats tees in the girls section (for me) and in the women's section. I can't wait to wear them during the games or at work! :yay:

Loving your TR so far. He certainly seems more adventerous than DD is! We should plan a trip with your little guy, DD, and Alison's little Dylan! How cute would they be?!

I don't remember if the tortilla chips were an out of control portion, but I remember we got a lot. It was perfect though, since we packed a few in our bag the rest of the week (it was just 2 more days) and we snacked on them periodically when waiting for things.

Isn't it funny how, as parents, we totally manipulate our kids reactions to rides by what we say? I just know if I told DD that something was a ride, she would back away or not want to go on it. But if I told her it wasn't a ride, she was willing to try it (until she saw it was a ride!)

I love that shooting star moment of Wishes too! It really is my absolute favorite fireworks show.

No worries, I'm glad that you are caught up! I am still surprised that I haven't finished up this TR yet, but I just ahven't had the time to sit and write an update. Not to mention catch up on everyone else's TRs and PTRs. Speaking of which, I am insanely jealous of your little ticker! I would love to go to Disney during the holidays one year. We are hoping for maybe next year.

If Dylan is still into the Einsteins and Handy Manny, I totally think you should try the hollywood n Vine character breakfast. Then he can meet and dance with some of them, and then you can walk right outside and over to the Playhouse Disney area and catch the other remaining Einsteins. And you'll all be fed.

I told Tink that it would be awesome if we could coordinate a trip with you and her little guy and my little gal. If only money grew on trees......

Our summer has been busier than I thought. Hope you have had a fanastic summer break!

YES, I get that all the time! Where are you really from? And then they ask, "Well, what about your parents?" I love when they ask about my mom because then I'll say, "She was born in NYC too. And so was my grandfather!" My dad's from HK. Oh, I also think it's "funny" when people think that my family's from China. China and Hong Kong are so different! Haha, not that I've actually been there myself ...

My big issue is how some people use the term "American." I always answer back and say, "Americans are people who are born in America. I'm American too. You mean white/Caucasian." I have to correct my kids all the time; I haven't even dealt with the fact that people could come here and become a naturalized citizen. I think that'd blow their minds~

Haha, that's like when I say I am Thai and people are like, oh, I love Taiwan! Right.....I'm sure we could go on and on with our list! Instead, I will tell you that I just started KK2. This one sure picks up the pace fast, doesn't it? I'm excited to keep reading it and look forward to finishing it soon. I can see myself impatient for the last two books in the series at this point. Patience is definitely not a virtue of mine!

I started compiling a list of things I want to see that are KK related! In KK3, there's a part that takes place in France, and I can't believe we skipped it in April! I had to imagine that entire part in my head because I didn't know what it looked like. That's something I'll HAVE to do when I go back!

I think I could see myself doing that too. I am already thinking Small World may not be as happy a ride for me anymore......jk, maybe?

I'm about halfway through the second one and I have to say, imagining all the animals gone wild in AK is freaking me out. That would definitely be a scary park if it went evil!

I was reading on Wikipedia that Ridley Pearson is contracted with Disney for 10 books! The teens will be in their 20s by then! And that he has submitted it for a movie premise twice. Hmmmm.
