Our 1st trip as a family of three!----Update 11/3 Our Favorites/Trip Wrap-Up

Hi Ann! I haven't been able to catch up yet, but I wanted to let you know that I subbed. And your little girl is ADORABLE! I can't wait to read about your family's adventures! :thumbsup2

I am happy to hear your DD was happy to see the characters!

I love the picture of her with June! You are a great mom for focusing your trip around your daughter's enjoyment and I am glad to hear you had so many great experiences!

I am a little afraid of JoJo as well I am pretty sure it is the whole clown thing!

Such a cute mother/daughter pic! :cutie:

I'm really enjoying your trip report. Your daughter is absolutely adorable! How old is she?

Aw...I seriously had a grin on my face the entire time I read this update. I just love all the pics of your DD with all the characters at breakfast and after. I'm so glad she warmed up to them and was fine with them. I read that JoJo and Goliath are being replaced with Handy Manny. Do you know when that's supposed to happen? Hopefully before we go because the little guy loves Handy Manny! I just am anxious to see what he thinks of the characters. Will he be scared or will he love them? Who knows!?!

And I have to say, you and DD look adorable in those matching outfits. Very cute. :cutie: I bet she was excited to dress like Mommy.

Hi Tink! I was totally thinking of you for so much of this meal and writing this update. I knew you were taking your little guy here soon. You will probably be crying as well if he has the same reactions. I don't know when Handy Manny will replace JoJo and Goliath, but I thought it was sometime this summer? :confused3 Definitely hit up the dance party at Playhouse Disney during evening EMH at DHS. Then your little guy can dance with Handy Manny! I don't know if I'll have that update on my TR of the party before you leave on your trip.

I don't know who was more excited about the matching outifts. Mommy or little gal! :rotfl:

Hi Staci! I am so glad you made it over! Thanks for subbing and I hope I'll be able to entertain you even half as much as you entertained me!

Thanks! It totally made the trip worthwhile and I cna't wait to bring her back. While she wasn't afraid of JoJo after a while, she was fascinated with how big June and Leo's feet were! She kept pointing at them!

I'm really enjoying your trip report. Your daughter is absolutely adorable! How old is she?

Thanks! I'm glad it's not too boring. She's about 2 1/2 years old now.

I love the autograph book you made!! How'd you do it? So cute :)

I loeved the autograph book too! :rotfl: I actually got many of the autoraph pages off the DIS boards and then put it together on Shutterfly. Since they often have discounts on photobooks, it wasn't that badly priced at all. We got some great reactions from the characters. I totally going to do it again next time. I really think it helped my daughter get over her fear of the characters.

Cute character pics!
Great update:thumbsup2

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.

I started reading this trip report earlier today, but never had a chance to comment since Jake decided he wanted to play his games online :) But, he did keep pointing at your daughter and saying, "Mamaaa! She's so cute!" :goodvibes

And oh! I couldn't help but noticing that you have family in Northern VA... we live in Woodbridge!

:wave2:

I just stubbled upon your T. I'm loving it! I just want to say, your lil munchkin is adorable!! She's absolutely gorgeous...that's such a great photo with her and the stuffed minnies!

I have to agree, spectro is a good way to end the first day at Disney!

popcorn:: Waiting for the next update...

Hi Ann!! I'm all caught up!! I'm so glad that Lily LOVED the characters on this trip!! The pics of her at Play & Dine are too cute!! I can totally relate to getting tears in your eyes! It happened to me several times last week!!

Awww, I'll have to tell her that she's got another long distance boyfriend! :rotfl: She does that to me all the time when I'm reading other people's TRs.

I grew up in Arlington and my parents still live there so we make trips back home often. I am always bringing her back to the zoo when I'm in town!

Hi! Thanks for joining in! I loved that photo of her last year! She just plopped herself on the shelf of Minnies, it was too cute. We saw Spectro so many times that vacation!

Hi Becky! You're back! I can't wait to see all 3,000+ of your pics! That's insane! I'm sure you were just as emotional as I was! I wish I was going back soon like you guys are. Can't wait to read all about it!

So when I last left off, we had just dragged our little munchkin onto TSM and were trying to decide what to do next. We knew we would be heading out of the park soon for a midday break, but decided to try to catch one more show first.

We have never seen this show, and I have been dying to see it. Especially since my little gal can sing some of the songs in the movie. Before long, we were immersed in…..

Beauty and the Beast! My husband and I were both so impressed with the quality of the show. :thumbsup2 It was so much fun and I loved how colorful everything was.

I felt like they took all the best parts of the movie and put it in the show. My only complaint was that I was hot sitting there! I can only imagine how hot it gets for the performers!

As tired as our little munchkin was, she loved the show. She sat on my lap the whole time and just looked on in wonder. I loved how caught up in the show she got!

After the show was over, we split up briefly to pick up some snacks. My hubby took the munchkin to grab a frozen drink and I ran off to Starring Rolls for a cupcake. I have been hearing about how delicious their cupcakes are and this was definitely on my list to try. I forgot to take a picture what I got, so I had to “borrow” these from the web. Here’s a display of some cupcakes.

Which one did I end up getting? It was a hard decision, but I decided on the white chocolate cupcake. Just picture this delicious concoction in white instead….

Oh My Goodness. It was divine! :cloud9: I took it to go and ended up eating it later in increments, and I am happy to report that it did not disappoint!

So I clutched my chocolate confection and met up with my hubby and munchkin. It was also getting pretty hot by this point, so we were happy to be heading back to the Pop.

When we got back to our room, this is what awaited us!

So while it is nothing impressive, I was just so excited to find the little towel surprise. Our last stay, we were at the BC and only had one towel design our whole trip. It was a large Mickey head on the day of arrival, nothing after that. While we loved staying at the BC, we found more fun surprises at the Pop.

Anyways, back to the story. We put out little girl down for a nap and cooled down for a bit. I ran to the Pop food court to refill our mug and grabbed a noodle stir-fry for our lunch. Then, once she woke up, it was time to try out the pool!

ry%3D400

The Pop had cute little life vests out to use so we tried it out that day. Looks like she was enjoying herself!

ry%3D400

Since daddy had on swim goggles, she just had to be like her daddy and put some on herself.

ry%3D400

We spent a little while relaxing and splashing around in the pool, then got ready for dinner. I have to say, this became a regular routine since the weather was so hot. The midday pool breaks were a lifesaver!

Our plan for the evening was to go to Epcot for dinner and walk around for the night since there was evening EMH that day. We decided on dinner at the Tangerine Café in Morocco.

ry%3D400

All of us thought that you get a decent amount of food for a counter service. Plus our little girl was craving rice, so we got her a side of rice to eat with the chicken. She filled up her tummy pretty fast so while mommy and daddy ate, she went about amusing herself.

ry%3D400

I guess everything is fun when you’re 2 years old!

ry%3D400

Now, I know I mentioned that we had planned on staying at Epcot for a while to enjoy evening EMH, but we had a change in plans after dinner. Not in a good way, either. Let’s just say we had to pay a quick visit to the First Aid station and that pretty much ended our night. It wasn’t anything too traumatic, nothing that a little ice, a band-aid and some Motrin couldn’t fix. Our little girl injured her finger but it all ended up okay.

So moving on…..let’s fast forward to Saturday morning. We were off to Animal Kingdom that day since we had lunch ADRs at Yak & Yeti. It doesn’t look like the injury was hampering our little munchkin! She was off and running, ready to go back to “Disney World” as she would always say.

ry%3D400

On our way to the car, we made a quick stop to take this little photo.

ry%3D400

Just in case we forgot what building we were in!

I just love all the larger than life themes at Pop.

Up next: Our AK day

I will definitely have to try a cupcake on our next trip! Those all look so good!

I can't wait to enjoy the POP pool!

I am glad to hear the finger was fine in the morning! I can't wait to see how your day at AK went!

Now I'm even more bummed that we missed out on Starring Rolls - those cupcakes look sooooo good!

Isn't Beauty and the Beast great? I love all the costumes, so colorful and creative.

Sorry your DD hurt her finger, poor little thing!

What wonderful pictures! I'm so sorry that your DD hurt her finger. :( I'm glad it didn't slow her down TOO much!!!

Great pictures! That little one could be a model :cutie:
So sorry to hear she hurt her finger but I'm glad is wasn't too serious!

I keep hearing about how great the cupcakes are at Starring Rolls. We have to try that in August!

YAY!! I'm so glad that you got to see the B&B show!! It's one of our favorites!! And that cupcake--YUM!! We ate at Starring Rolls for lunch and I had the Peanut Butter Chocolate cupcake--soooo good!!! :lovestruc Sorry to hear that Lily hurt her finger. Glad it wasn't anything too serious!! :goodvibes

I really, really hope we get to see Beauty and the Beast in Sept. We're only doing 2 afternoon/evenings at DHS, so I hope we don't miss all the shows! Sorry to hear that you're little one hurt her finger. She seems to be ok in the pictures though! Don't you just love the pools at Pop?! They are so much fun!

I have never heard about the cupcakes, so I will add another thing to my list. They look fantastic! We have only been to Starring Rolls 1 time & it was right after the morning rush. There was barely anything left to buy. But of course we got.....a rice crispy treat. It was goooood!

We ate in Morrocco too and really enjoyed it. Some of the things were a little bland, but we will definitely be going back!

Yesss...I love the Beauty and the Beast show! :cloud9: I know the whole thing by heart now.

Wow, those cupcakes look good!

Aw poor girl..even though you said it wasn't too bad, it's not fun getting hurt.
