Our 1st trip as a family of three!----Update 11/3 Our Favorites/Trip Wrap-Up

I'm here! Thanks for letting me know you started one! It's so good to talk to you over at my PTR/TR's so I'm glad to talk to you on yours!

OMG your little girl is adorable! :cutie:

And it's great to finally be able to put a face to your name when I'm talking to you! :)

How was the split stay? I'm sure you'll talk about it more, but was it a hassle?

Did you like Pop? I just fell in love, haha.

Okay..about Max and Ruby...my little guy loves that show. I think it's cute, but I get really confused. Where are there parents? How old is Ruby? Because I thought maybe she was older, but then they show her in girl scouts and stuff. Why aren't they living with their grandma then? So many questions. :rotfl:

Yay! You started your TR! :yay::yay: That is a fun first update. I always love it when you land at the airport in Orlando. It just feels like you have so much fun ahead of you.

Your DD is SOO cute. Love the glasses. Dylan always gets in the front seat of the car too. He likes to pretend that he is driving. It was cute until he recently put coins in my CD player on my stereo. :headache: Todd took it in to get it fixed & the guy said, "Oh, you have a jukebox situation." Ha, ha. I guess we aren't the only ones who's kids have done that. I thought it was hilarious that the stereo guys had a name for it.

I am here!!! Your daughter is a doll and I can't wait to see all the pics!!! :cloud9:

subbing!

Your DD is so cute! I love Pop Century, can't wait to hear about your trip!

Hi Tinkgurl! I'm so glad you made it over! The split stay wasn't too bad. We've stayed at the Pop before and enjoyed it, but I have to admit, it's not ideal for us when we have a toddler in tow! We have never stayed at the Dolphin before so we were excited to try it. It was actually kind of exciting to make a move half way through the trip - like we were starting our vacation all over again!

I think it's so funny how one comment about Max and Ruby has sparked all these comments! I have those exact same questions that you have!! :rotfl:

Love your pictures. Your daughter is absolutely gorgeous!
Can't wait to read more! :)

Thank you! I think she's pretty cute myself. :lovestruc Hoping to get an update up soon.

We love landing at the Orlando airport too! Although, not so much when it's time to go home. ;)

I'm telling you, Lily and Dylan would totally get along! That totally cracked me up - your jukebox story! The two of them would probably sit there pretending to drive forever!

Hi and thanks for reading along! We had fun at the Pop too!

I am here!!! Your daughter is a doll and I can't wait to see all the pics!!! :cloud9:

Thanks for joining in! I hope I won't disappoint you all.

I am joining in. Love your reports so far. Pop looks like so much fun. I would love to try it some time.

Your daughter is so adorable.

I agree about Max and Ruby being a little off. My daughter is five and rarely watches it. (I try to pass by it and she only gets to watch it when she finds it herself) Whenever she watched it she goes back to talking the way Max does. Instead of using real sentences she just points and uses like one or two words to say something she wants. It drives me crazy!

Hi and thanks for reading! the way Max talks drives my husband crazy too! He always asks if there is something wrong with him.

Joining your TR :wave2: Your daughter is sooooo cute! Looking forward to hearing more :mickeyjum

Hi and welcome aboard! I'm hoping to get an update in by tomorrow. Anxious to get to the parks!

So when I last left off, we had just checked in to the Pop and unloaded the rental car. I forgot to mention that we stopped by the Pop food court to have a little snack – I think it was chicken fingers and some fruit. Just something to hold us over until dinner since we planned on eating in the parks!

Before long, we were pulling our car into the MK parking lot (aka the Ticket and Transportation lot)! I think it was around 5pm at that point so it was still nice and sunny out. Here we are heading out of the lot and off towards the monorail!

That little tram ride through the parking lot was one of my little girl’s favorite things to do. She was always asking to go on “little train ride.” We then hopped on the monorail – or in my daughter’s vocabulary, the “train ride on the bridge.”

We stopped at the entrance to take a few PP pics, but since I haven’t ordered the cd yet, I’ll have to add them later. Soon we were walking through the entrance to the Magic Kingdom! Yay! We were actually here! As we walked down Main Street, we caught a glimpse of something up ahead.

ry%3D400

It was the Move It! Shake It! Celebrate It Parade! We have never seen this parade before so we were so excited that it coincided with our entrance into the park. Little did we know that this would be a common theme throughout our trip. What was my little munchkin’s reaction?

ry%3D400

Well, I think her face tells it all. That expression and her excitement at seeing her favorite characters made my day. I just knew the next few days were going to be so much fun.

It ended up being the tail end of the parade, but that was fine with us. She still got a glimpse of one of her absolute favorite characters ……

ry%3D400

Donald Duck! She absolutely adores him. I think her love for him stemmed from our trip in August when she asked to ride the boat ride in the Mexico pavilion over and over again. We let her wave goodbye to all her friends and then we decided it was time to try our luck with some rides.

ry%3D400

We already knew exactly what the first ride of the trip would be, so we headed over to Fantasyland. Soon we were walking on board……

Hi! :wave2: Thanks for joining in! I'm trying to get the first post up since I find the traveling portion not as interesting. I always just want to get to the destination!

Oh my, it was HOT! I think we just weren't prepared for the heat, where as in August, we knew we were going to find hot weather. Do you live near DC? My family is from the NOVA area so I grew up near there. Love it!

We live in Stafford, VA which is about 45 mins south of D.C. We are originally from Oregon and moved to WV in 1994 & then moved to VA in 2002. Northern VA has really expanded even since we've moved here.

Your daughter's face really lights up - how cute her expression was at seeing the parade!

It’s a Small World! I know there are many people who don’t like this boat ride, but I love it.:cloud9: I feel like it’s one of those Disney World staples that I just need to do at least once on my trips. Plus our little munchkin just sings the chorus over and over again “It’s a small world after all, It’s a small world after all.” I’m sure that would drive many parents crazy, but I just find it adorable. We have some Disney cds that we listen to in the car so she was already well-versed in this song before we arrived. For our first ride of the trip, it didn’t disappoint. She loved it!

We weren’t too sure what we were going to next. We hadn’t made a specific touring plan since it was just the three of us. We had decided early on in our planning that we were going to play it all by ear and do what our little gal wanted. Plus, it ended up being more crowded than we thought. Fantasyland was pretty packed! We grabbed some FP for the Winnie the Pooh ride and headed to Adventureland.

We decided to try another boat ride that she enjoyed last time. I think this is the point where pushed our luck too far. We took her on one of my other faves – Pirates of the Caribbean.pirate: I thought that she would be fine since she did great in August….I thought wrong. While she didn’t cry and freak out, I could tell she was scared. She sat on my lap and was clenching my arm throughout the whole ride. From this point on, it would be a struggle to get her on any rides whatsoever.

Since we had traumatized her with scenes of scary pirates pirate:, we decided to head over to Toontown. I wanted to see it one last time before it goes away for good. We parked the stroller and just let our munchkin lead the way. First she wanted to see if anyone was inside this little radio station.

ry%3D400

See that little sad face? That was because she kept knocking on the door and no one answered. I just told her maybe they had gone home for the day and that seemed to satisfy her. Then if was off to Minnie’s house.

It wasn’t nearly as crowded here in Toontown as the last time we came in August, so she was off and running in the house. It was funny, but I could tell she remembered the house because she just headed off to her favorite parts of it. For some reason, she loved Minnie’s sewing machine.

ry%3D400

Then it was off to see if Mickey was home. A quick look in his mailbox.

ry%3D400

The tour of that house was pretty fast since you can’t go into the rooms. She did tell me that the mess in the kitchen was caused by Pluto.

After the two country houses, she continued to run off steam at Donald’s Boat and the little play area. She LOVED the water spray area. We grabbed some great video of her running around, screaming with delight in this area.

ry%3D400

I highly recommend stopping by there with any little munchkins, especially when it’s hot out. You just either have to bring a change of clothes, or pull them out before they get soaked. Since our little princess doesn’t like to get too messy, it was easy to get her out before she was drenched.

She continued with her playtime over at the Chip and Dale playground. She was totally in heaven here. They had slides…..

ry%3D400

and lot’s of other little people her size to run around with…..

ry%3D400

and fun little peepholes.

ry%3D400

Once we got tired of chasing her around the playground, we headed back over to Fantasyland. It was time to use our FP for Pooh! She was super excited until she realized that it was a ride. It took some convincing and some distractions, but we were able to get her in the honey pot. She was definitely a bit apprehensive when the ride first started, but after checking out some of the scenes in the Hundred Acre Woods, she lessened her death grip on my arms.

We hopped out of the “hunny pots” and made our way through the gift shop. We then had to do what all parents do and try to make it out without spending lots and lots of money. Can you just see how her eyes found the lollipops?

ry%3D400

We were almost all the way out when our little princess stopped us with her new discovery.:cloud9:

ry%3D400

How could you resist that reaction? Of course we just melted and she had a new little friend for the rest of the trip! That won’t be the last time you see Annie (from the Little Einsteins).

Everytime I go back home to visit, I'm amazed at how much has changed in Northern VA.

Oh my goodness, she LOVED that parade. And for some reason, we always came across it during the hottest part of the day.

What a great update! Your daughter is so precious in each of those pictures. You can tell she's definately having a great time. After we traumatized poor Madison on Splash last Jan, she always asked if a ride had a drop! She still doesn't like the little dip on Pirates.

Aww great updates! Your DD is so cute she makes me miss having a little one! Looks like you were having a great time and I can't wait to hear more :goodvibes

She had a blast! The hardest part is now she asks me EVERY day if we are going back to Disne World or if w can see the Minnie parade. And of course, I know how she feels! I want to go back too!

She was so traumatized that she didn't even want me or my DH to go on any rides. She would get scared for us!

It was a great first day at the parks. We got more accomplished than I expected. I had such a good time just watching her reactions!

OMG your little one is so cute! We almost always fly jetblue even B.C. (before child :lmao:) now with our girl it just makes it so much easier. Boston is about 30 mins further than T.F. Green for us but it is well worth it, love the t.v.

The comments about Max & Ruby are hysterical..but so true. Still, I think current all time weird show that my 4 y.o. princess old likes/loves is Yo Gabba Gabba..I can't...just out there but they have some good guests on it. Just weird but maybe from a child's perspective it is different:confused3

We are heading back to Disney this September...can't wait!! :rotfl:

Pretty good start for your first trip report!
I love that picture of your little one with new new BFF!
Joining in and can't wait for the next update!
