Day 7- Evening- Ending our trip with Wishes Spectacular
Tonight was going to be our last night at Walt Disney World, and of course we chose to spend it at The Magic Kingdom.
We left CBR about 6:30, and actually got on a MK bus right away. Yay, we were on our way. We didnt eat dinner yet, so we were planning on getting something at MK.
When we passed through the turnstyles, there was a CM standing there and asking if anyone wanted a celebration button. She asked Matthew and Megan what they were celebrating. And, they said No school for a week! So, she wrote Spring Break. Their button said, Im celebrating Spring Break.
We saw a Photo pass Photographer up front by the Mickey head flowers, so we had to stop and take some pictures of course.
We got to Main Street, and it was a bit crowded. You could tell the Spring break crowd was in full force tonight.
Love the balloons
We werent planning on doing a lot of rides tonight because we didnt have any fast passes. So, we were just going to soak it all in, and ride whatever we could throughout the evening. The main goal was WISHES at 10:00.
On our way to Adventureland.
We walked through Adventureland, and noticed Pirates was a 5 minute wait, so we went on that first. We were surprised that Pirates never had a wait. At Disneyland there always seems to be some kind of line.
We walked around a little and then walked towards Fantasyland to see how long Peter Pan was. 75 minutes !! I dont think well be doing that ride this trip. Since the kids are 10, they arent really interested in any Fanstasyland rides anymore, which is fine by us. As long as we do Philharmagic than I am happy.
We walked by Small world, and the wait was 5 minutes. I looked at Cliff and Matthew and they were trying to hurry by. So, of course I had to drag them in kicking and screaming. Ha Ha, just a little grumble from the boys. Neither one of them really likes Small World, and would never wait in a long line. But, 5 minutes they could handle. So, we got on right away and I got pictures of Cliff enjoying the ride and whistling along.
We were getting a bit hungry and walked around to see what struck our fancy. While walking around we headed to Main Street and took pictures in front of the castle at night.
The kids werent really hungry, so I got them pretzals with cheese. Cliff and I got a Chili dog with fries from the Friars Nook. It was actually pretty good, but we were getting tired of junk food by this time.
We walked to Frontierland to see how long the line would be for Big Thunder Mtn. The wait was 20 minutes. We could handle that. So we did our last BTM ride that night.
The wait for Splash Mtn was 15 minutes. I had no desire to get on that and be wet the rest of the night so I passed. The plan was for Cliff and kids to ride Splash, while I would walk to Main Street to save a spot for Wishes.
On my walk to Main Street, Sprectro the parade was happening. So, I had to walk my way along the waters edge to get past it. It wasnt too bad; most people were watching the parade while I was walking past them. On my quest to the Castle, I started smelling some yummy cinnamon goodness.
I passed sleepy hollow and low and behold, thats where they sell Funnel Cakes! I hadnt had a funnel cake yet. Yay! Yay!
I love funnel Cakes. So, I got myself a yummy, fried, cinnamon, messy, funnel cake!
I found a spot right in front of the castle, plopped myself down on the curb and ate my Funnel Cake all by myself. I really couldnt eat it all, so I saved the rest for my family. It wouldnt be hot, but they might enjoy it still.
Cliff had called and said the wait was really only 5 minutes for splash. (They did wear their ponchos) At the end of the ride, they had the option to not get off and go again. Pretty Cool!
So, I just sat and people watched while I waited .. There are some interesting characters at WDW, and I dont mean Disney Characters either. Some families are tired and cranky. Teenagers with some questionable conversations. Kids screaming and crying, they were done hours ago. Then some children laughing and singing. Babies asleep in strollers. Some conversations in different languages probably observing me, wondering how I made such a mess with powder sugar and cinnamon! Ha, Ha,
It really is fun to people watch.
