Our 10 yr. old twins take on the World-For Spring Break. Update 05/19-The End

It's so cute that Meg could barely reach the umbrella!:rotfl2:
I know she has to get on her tippy toes! :rotfl:

Oh no, it must have been something aweful to almost ruin your whole trip! :scared1:
I love all of your PP pictures. You ended up with some really unique ones.
Whenever we would see a Photopass Photographer, we would try to get a picture done !

This sounds foreboding....

If I am remembering correctly, it was somewhere around Cosmic Rays when we saw him, too.
We also saw Push by Cosmic Rays. And, then later on the bridge going towards the castle. Too funny !

You got some really great photopass pics! I'm interested to hear what happened that almost ruined your trip!

Day 7- Our last full day at WDW.
Disney Quest and ending with Wishes. (Also, the worst couple of hours of our whole trip) Forecast- 71, few sprinkles in the AM.

Today is March 17th, St. Patrick’s Day!:thumbsup2 So, of course we all had our green on. We did have an ADR for Boma’s at 9:00, but we just didn’t feel like waking up early our last day, we just wanted to have a fun relaxing day.

So, we slept in till 8:00. Well, that is sleeping in for us. Ha ha. Cliff and I decided that we wanted to try waffle house. We had seen a few while we were driving around, and thought we would give it a try. There were a lot of people dressed in green we noticed, so we fit right in.
DisneyWorld2010284.jpg

I, of course had to get the waffle, and it was SO good. Oh, yum! I can’t wait to try it again. Cliff and the kids had the typical breakfast.

Today we were going to Disney Quest (DQ), we had never been there before. The kids were excited to be playing video games and interactive rides without having to put in any money. They thought that was the coolest thing ever. Little did they know we paid plenty for our tickets, it’s not like DQ is free, children.

Disney Quest didn’t open till 11:00, and we got to Downtown Disney (DTD) by 10:00, so we walked around and took some pictures.

We got to DQ about 10:45, and the line was all the way around the corner. We didn’t know it would have been that busy already. But, the line went fast and we were in by 11:00.

We went straight for the Jungle cruise interactive ride, we all got in a boat and had to paddle our way down the river. It was pretty cool. WE then got in line for Pirates of the Carribean. It was a long line, and there are no fast passes in Disney Quest. We probably waited about 30 minutes, but had fun talking to another lady in line.

We finally got on POTC virtual ride. The four of us got on a boat and we each had our own canon to fight off the bad guys. We had a gadget on our head, so the ride was in 3D, it was so cool. We loved it, we would have done it again, but the line was even longer now.

We played some other games and then went to do Alladins Magic Carpet ride. That was another 3D type of adventure. We each were on our own magic carpet, and had to grab jewels and try to find the magic lamp. This was fun, but it did get me a bit queasy by the time we were done.

We went to the 3rd floor where they have arcade games and some classic type of games. It was SO loud in there, and very crowded. I was not feeling the fun at all. Plus, I was still a bit queasy from the ride. So, Cliff and the kids played the games and I went in search of some peace. Found a great place on the 4th floor. The Wonderland Café. Perfect! I got some popcorn and a sprite and sat down on a comfortable chair and chilled. popcorn::

When they were done, they found me in my quiet spot and ate my popcorn and drank my sprite. After they sanitized their dirty hands, of course. We sat there for a few minutes, and I started looking for my camera to take some pictures. I looked in my shoulder bag. All 4 pockets. I looked in my jean pockets. I looked in my jacket pocket. I have been so good keeping track of my camera and phone, so I wouldn’t lose them. I am so careful with that kind of stuff.

So, finally I said “I can’t find my camera”. I knew Cliff would go into panic mode right away, so that’s why I had to be sure it was lost before I told him. So, of course he asked if I looked in all the places I just made sure to check before I said anything. Yes, I looked everywhere! :sad1:

So, we went back to ALL the places we had just been. The jungle cruise, Alladin, POTC, the loud 3rd floor. The whole time I am still looking in all my pockets, hoping and praying it would magically appear.

We were told to go to lost and found, which is up front where you buy your tickets. So, we went to the front, holding our breath the whole time and asked if a camera was turned in. The lady behind the window asked what it looked like and what brand it was. She left for a few seconds, that seemed like forever. She came back, NO. She did not find it. Ugh, my heart sank. She said to check back in an hour or two, in case someone turned it in. And, gave us a card for WDW main lost and found.

All areas of WDW turn in any lost items to the central lost and found every night, so she told us to call the next morning after 9:00AM to see if it could be there.

We were all very quiet as we walked away from Disney Quest. We decided to take the boat across DTD to go to Earl of Sandwich. While we waited for the boat we didn’t say a word. I could tell from Cliff’s face how upset he was, too.

And, I’m sure they could see from my face how upset I was. While we waited for the boat Megan gave me a hug, and said she was sorry that I had lost my camera. I was all choked up. We got on the boat, and I really felt like crying. I started thinking of all the great pictures I had on my camera. And, decided that I wasn’t even going to do my trip report anymore without my pictures.

Cont'd next post ...............................

So, we had lunch at Earl of Sandwich, and I cannot even tell you what I had. It may have been turkey, but I really wasn’t hungry anymore. For lunch we were all miserable. I felt bad because the kids couldn’t understand how mad I was, and I didn’t want to ruin their day. And, Cliff wasn’t doing anything to try to get me out of my bad mood. He was just acting as miserable as I felt, and not helping matters at all. So, of course I was just getting more upset by the second. :headache:

After a miserable lunch we walked to a pin trader’s station because the kids wanted to look at them, I didn’t care what we did at that point. There was a cute statue of Minnie and Mickey with their pins and they were wearing green like us. So, even though I didn’t feel like picture taking I knew I would regret not getting that picture. So, Cliff took pictures with his camera. He hadn’t used his camera much up to this point, so we didn’t have a lot of pictures to depend on.
CliffsWDW2010077.jpg

I tried really hard to look happy in this picture.

CliffsWDW2010078.jpg

I really felt like Donald.

After the pins we walked back to Disney Quest to see if my camera had been turned in. I was praying that the right person found it and turned it in. I was hoping it wouldn’t be someone who’d find it and decide to keep it. I know if I found a camera I would understand how the person would feel, and turn it in right away. So, we had a long walk back to Disney quest just hoping for a miracle.

All the way there, I kept saying in my head, “please let it be there, please let it be there.” :wizard:

So, we walk up to the ticket counter, the same lady was behind the window, she saw us walking up and said. “Let me go check” It seemed like she was gone forever; my heart was pounding like crazy.

We saw her walk back to the window and I held my breath. :guilty:

She said “Is this it?”

YES. :yay: YES. :yay: YES. :yay:

We thanked her profusively and I said a quick prayer of thanks to God! :goodvibes And then we did this!
CliffsWDW2010080.jpg

Ha ha, we took that picture later, actually. But that is so how we felt! The lady behind the window said you wouldn’t believe the things that people turn in. They have had wallets turned in, and one time there were thousands of dollars in a wallet and it was turned in!!!

I was so thankful for whoever the wonderful person was that found my camera and turned it in for me. I hoped and prayed that something wonderful would happen to them!
We explained to the kids why you should never take something that isn’t yours, because someday that could happen to you.

After that, we were in the best mood. :woohoo: We went back in to Disney Quest to finish what we were in no mood to do earlier. We went to the 4th floor and played some games. Well, Cliff and the kids played and I bought a celebration cupcake!
DisneyWorld2010299.jpg

It was the White Chocolate cupcake. It was very sweet. I really should have gotten a different flavor, but the white chocolate looked so pretty. Here are the other flavors that right now look so yummy!

DisneyWorld2010296.jpg

We ended up on the 5th floor where I played my two favorite games. Ms. Pac-man and Centipede. I felt like I was back in High School hitting the top score. I was so cool, but I was also on a sugar high, so maybe that was the reason for my fun.

We left about 4:00, and on the way out of DTD we passed the fountain, so Cliff and the kids made a wish.
DisneyWorld2010301.jpg

My wish already came true, so I was good.

Our Fountain Family Picture

We got back to CBR; I went ahead of Cliff and the kids and got to the room before them. When they got to the room, the kids found a surprise! Megan got a Pin of Minnie Mouse as a cheerleader, and Matthew got a Red Puffle keychain. They kept wondering all week if they would get another surprise, but hadn’t found anything. Now today they finally got another surprise. They were so happy!

So, Cliff and I took about an hour nap while the kids watched TV. Tonight was our last night at WDW and Magic Kingdom was the park of choice, so we could see WISHES! Yay, my favorite. :cheer2:

Up next: Our last night- The kids and I closed down the park …….

I got the jumping idea from MICKEYSTOONTOWN, her family had a great jumping picture at Epcot.

I'm SO happy that your camera was turned in!! My daughter lost ours at the Easter Egg hunt at a local park and I was mostly upset because the memory card in it had pics from our trip to WDW back in Dec 2008 that I haven't downloaded. We looked for over an hour and finally a nice young man with his daughter walked up to us. They looked at the pics and were looking for our faces! I wish he would have accepted a reward tho. Plus back in 1997 the morning we were to leave I had our airline tickets, $1,000 cash in my wallet plus brand new credit cards and left my wallet/purse in the shopping cart. Luckily an older couple turned it in - I have been blessed twice!

You all look so cute in your green St. Patrick's day shirts!

OMG! I know exactly how you were feeling!! During our vacation at WDW last year my husband left our DSLR camera and camcorder at the CBR bus stop :scared1: We didn't realize it until we were off of the bus at Hollywood Studios, sometimes it's hard to keep up with kids, strollers, camera bags! So it was Star Wars weekend and I wanted to take a pic of the sign and I turn around and ask my hubby for the camera and he's like "What camera?", my heart just dropped and I automatically started crying! We had pics from 4 days of character meals and park days! We headed back to the CBR bus stop, no camera  We retraced our steps, went back to our room and nothing! I called the lobby from our room and told them my situation and they said they would check the buses in case someone turned them in to a bus driver and asked for me to call back later. My husband tried to cheer me up and said there was no reason to spoil our day so we headed back to HS, even though I was in no mood to do anything I tried to keep it together for the kids. We did a few rides and decided we would have lunch at Pizza planet. While we were eating my husband was on his phone trying to find a Best Buy to go and buy another camera, he felt really bad! We were done eating and the kids were playing games when I got a phone call from CBR saying they had my camera :woohoo: I told my husband to stay with the kids at the park and I would go back to the resort and get it, the bus ride seemed to take forever! Finally I arrived, ran to the counter and there behind it was my camera and camcorder in a bag! :cool1: So that was my pixie dust for the trip! I was so thankful that it was returned, I would have done the same thing! Sorry for hijacking your TR

Oh my gosh! I LOVE LOVE LOVE your report and all your pictures!!! I want to go again now so I can do the thing with the mini-me!! So cute. Your trip sounds awesome and I am reliving it with you!!! :goodvibes Thanks so much for sharing!!!

I know the panicy feeling you've had - I've had it a time or two myself! SOOOOO glad that someone found it and turned it in. You're right - that was a good time to remind your children of how the other person might feel if they ever took something that didn't belong to them. But you know what? I get the feeling that those two kids are really good children who would never steal!!! :goodvibes
