Cast: Disney Brother (DB) 40, Disney Daughter (DD) 13 and myself (DDs mom) 41
I would like to thank all of the knowledgeable people on these boards. I planned this vacation for over a year. I didnt post a lot of questions on these boards; but, I visited almost everyday and learned tons of valuable information. As you read my trip report I try to point out where I received valuable information from these boards. THANKS EVERYONE!
Day 1: See WDW Trip Reports
Day 2: See Cruise Line Trip Reports
Day 3: See Cruise Line Trip Reports
Day 4: See Cruise Line Trip Reports
Day 5: Had breakfast and disembarked the ship. Everything went smoothly. Happy Limo had a strech limo waiting for us. We loaded up and headed to the HRH. Our pool view room wasnt ready, we tired for the upgrade (we are Loews members based on info I found on these boards); but, the hotel was full, so we stowed our luggage, grabbed our hotel cards and headed to Universal Studios (our first time). We hit Twister, Kongfrontation, Earthquake, Jaws, MIB, Back to the Future, and ET. During the Earthquake attraction, DD was selected as a volunteer to assist with the show. She was dressed in a rain coat and hat and put on a set that had a submarine. DD was thrilled she got to participate in the show. BTTF was way to wild for DB and I. DB was so sick he left the park and returned to the hotel. I wasnt that bad off so DD and I proceeded to ET. I didnt ride because I was afraid of more motion sickness. DD rode it and loved it. DD said I had to ride it because it wasnt near as wild as BTTF. So we got in line. They opened the doors to allow the next group of people in and my DD wanted to hold back for the next group hoping we could get a seat in the front of the ride. The Universal cast member told us it wouldnt matter and to come on in with the rest of the group. So now we are inside and waiting, behind a whole heard of folks, to give our names. The cast member who had told us to go on in came back to us and took us back outside, around the attraction and into an area where she created our cards with our names; then, she took us to an area to be placed in the front of the next ride. I was astonished. It was so cool, my DD felt so special. Let me just say at this point the day was a blur, Im not sure what else we rode. I know we rode MIB 4 times (our favorite ride). The last time we rode, DD scored 975,961 points (we bought the picture so we would have proof of her score.) Staying at a Universal Hotel and having front of the line access is AWESOME. I have already made reservations for October 2003. When we returned to the HRH, DB was feeling a lot better and ready to go eat; but, DD was feeling really tired and didnt want to go out. DB and I went to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe. I had a Hard Rock All Access Card (thanks to these boards) so we didnt have to wait long for a table. We returned with chicken tenders and fries for DD. The chicken tenders were so cute. They were in the shape of a guitar. The hotel delivered our milk and cookies (Loews member). We also used our Fan Club card (thanks to these boards) for discounts when we purchased our souvenirs. We called it a night.
Day 6: We headed to CityWalk for breakfast at Cinnabons; then, it was off to IOA. This was DDs favorite park. She loves rollercoasters. DB was a bit wary after his previous days bout with motion sickness. So we decided to ride The Cat in the Hat first. It was a cute ride; but, had enough small spins that DB decided that was probably it for him (he did ride Jurassic Park later). Next we headed straight to Dueling Dragons where DD and I rode the Fire Dragon. DD was in heaven and immediately wanted to ride the Ice Dragon. Once was enough for me, so she rode by herself. During the day we rode Juarssic Park 3 times, Spiderman 3 times, DD rode Dueling Dragons 4 times, DD rode the Hulk 2 times and attended the Sinbad show. We shopped, ate and just enjoyed our day. My DD likes to tell the story of what happened to us after we rode the Jurrassic Park ride for the last time. I wore a poncho (I dont like to get wet), after the ride I tossed the 99cent poncho because we were headed for the hotel. Well, in less than 5 minutes the sky which had previously been clear, clouded up and there was a down pour. There I was drenched without my poncho. DD thinks this was very funny! We had dinner at the NASCAR Café; then, went to see Spiderman at the theater. Along the way we stopped to take DDs picture on a surfboard with this big wave coming over it. We had a stuffed Stitch with us. She put Stitch on the surfboard with her. It made the cutest picture. After the movie we called it a day.
