Ouch!!!

The ice cream truck was going around our neighborhood today and dh bought the kids various treats unbeknownst to me. My ds got a popcicle and dh gave it to him straight out of the wrapper. I see the truck out the window and go outside. Ds puts it to his lips, throws down the popcicle and starts screaming! It tore skin off his lip! OMG!!! It totally freaked us out, as you could imagine! It was bleeding (what seemed like) alot at first. After, I stopped the bleeding, it doesn't look too bad. I used baby Orajel on it and he's fine now. Just don't give your kids treats straight out of the truck like dh did. OMG!!!

ETA: I went back to pick up the mess I made in my haste.....and the kleenex doesn't even have that much blood on it...just a few drops but, it really scared me at the time.

Oh I really hate when that happens! I've tried reasoning with little ones to wait just a few seconds until the major freeze is gone and it is safe to lick--it just doesn't work! It's just so very hard to tell which frozen treats are going to stick because some will be fine and others will "attach" with painful, skin removing results!
I remember I was waiting for my mom to come answer the door in the winter--I couldn't open the door because of my mitts--and I saw my reflection in the doorknob, licked it(don't ask me why! ) and a huge area of my tongue(tastebuds) came off! It hurts so bad! Probably that's why I'm the only one who thinks my cooking isn't that bad!
