Ouch!! No good deals announced!! No fd!!

EEEEEEEEEEK!!! Did you notice the book through dates?? This offer is valid as long as it is booked by August 14th. Is this the new deal?? It can't be the new deal!

You're right - it can't be the new deal. I think it's just something to fill the empty space until a fall deal is announced!

looks like they aren't ready to move to the late summer/fall promotions yet. Still trying to raise their summer occupancy rates. Maybe this is a further response to IOA's WWoHP? Maybe the fall occupancy is high enough will all the bookings done by people anticipating free dining?:confused3

We still have a few days of March. Maybe they are waiting until Thursday or even after Easter. I'm sure this deal is just a filler. Holding breath!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This package (read the fine print) is only valid for "STAYS" most nights til August 14th. Typically in Disney terms this means the LONGEST it could be valid would be for 13 nights AFTER August 14th.. or to the 28th of August.

Interesting.

This is the new promo......isn't it. Can they leave it until August 15th to bring out FD? Is it possible that they are moving the FD window until later in the fall? My head is spinning with the possibilities

First off, the Free Dining for Visa Card holders is not going to be announced on the Disney website. That is an advance booking window for DV card holders only. The FD promotion that will be on the Disney website will be for the general public released after the pre-booking window for the cardholders (like in the past). The FD for DV cardholders will either be notified by DV (or rumors will be leaked out by others who were notified). You won't see anything on the Disney website until the public gets it, so most likely 3 days after DV cardholders know and you'll know and be ready and won't have to watch the Disney website. Make sense?

Right now if you are going after Aug. 15th it is at rack rate unless you got a personal pin or BB or something like that. I can't believe they would have all of these really good discounts for the summer (which is typically the busy season) and no good general discounts for the fall (typically slow season). Something has to be coming, it just doesn't make sense for them not to offer something. And yes, a lot of people on here are booked in anticipation of FD, but we are only a small fraction of the population who goes to WDW. I can't believe that bookings are so strong that they wouldn't give an offer. Plus they have to know that people will cancel , I'm sure they do. I'll bet there are people who's job it is to watch this board and others like it and keep up on what people are thinking!

They WILL offer something, just not sure if it will be FD.

We have the DV and there are no new discounts posted for us.
Who knows...maybe a bit later in the week, or as someone else said, after Easter?
We are already booked for June, but I'm curious anyway since last year FD was extended till mid December and I'm thinking of doing a quck mother/son trip in early December because we've never seen the decorations...

just called to make my dining reservations, and I'm booking more than 180 days out, due to my check in date at the CBR. Very hard to find a slot open at Coral Reef, Les CEllier, CRT, and Les Chefs de France during our 8 day stay. Was only able to find a spot at les chefs. I checked all hours of the day as well. This might have something to do with a delayed release of any fall discounts.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 I agree!!! We are going either way so even a few dollars off would be a gift to us!! We took my daughter for her first trip last year and paid rack rate in June:scared1: for her birthday! We just won't be able to upgrade if nothing comes out! Oh well, at the end of the day, It's still DISNEY and I would sleep outside the gate in a sleeping bag if I had too!!!:goodvibes

So here is a little pixiedust: for everyone:goodvibes

Between bounceback offers and people hedging their reservations on free dining Disney may be looking at room occupancy rates and may be seeing that there aren't as many empty rooms available and may hold off their discounts. Last year was the first year and free dining was available on the 15th of Aug. We go every year at that time and have always been a week ahead of the start of free dining. I have checked the DV site and there is nothing and no email yet. Hope everyone making reservations in hopes of free dining doesn't backfire on everyone this year. Doesn't matter to us since we are better off with a room discount than free dining. Paying rack rate for a 2 bedroom villa is more than the free dining would save us. We have a room discount that saves us more.

I know!!!! As soon as I woke up at 7:45 I grabbed my purse and went to the computer, I was all set to book and put the deposit down! I dont car if it is free dining or something else, we just hope for some type of offer. Soo disappointed, I really was expecting an offer for fall today! When I called Disney on Friday, the CM even hinted there would be a new offer released Monday.

This was my prediction of what any 'deal' that was offered this weekend. However, I just looked at the discount on the website. There is a new offer and it isn't good. 20-30% now.

Does anyone else think maybe they are/were waiting to see what Universal is offering for WWOHP? They just released information on when it's opening and I'm sure that it will draw some people away from Disney (not for long and not that many). IMO there is no comparison but if Universal accomplishes what they set out to do for their new park (doubtful - I was there when it opened) then it could impact Disney at least a little bit.

Patiently waiting for something - anything to be announced. popcorn::

Yes, but Monday's not over yet!;)
Keeping my fingers crossed too!

well I'm glad that at least I have my room at BWI for $1740 for the week instead of $2008. ;)
