...wallet. :eek: After DH did the "first pass" on our taxes back in Feb., he said we'd be getting back about $3000. That figure was updated to $4300 +. Boy, did I have big plans! (I know I mentioned a trip to Discovery Cove on this board). At the last minute DH finally does the state return. We OWE $5300 +!! :eek: :mad: I don't think I will be able to sit down for a while.
 
Ouch! That does seem like a lot for state taxes. I would definitely double check!
 
That hurts. I wouldn't know what to do! How come the numbers changed so dramaticaly?
 

We had a fairly significant "taxable event" back in December. With the federal rates falling and some other credits (like our hybrid vehicle) we lucked out with the IRS. Unfortunately, the state return is correct. Once you have the federal return done, the Ohio return is pretty simple. Not many decuctions or credits apply.
