Ouch! Alberts

I haven't fully looked into it yet, but i figured it'll all be worth it at least just once
I would love to hear how it works out for you. I've considered setting up a trip with the platinum plan for my daughter and her boyfriend as a medical school graduation celebration but I haven't seen it come up when I go online and look at discounted rooms.

i know the platinum plan can only be added over the phone. I'll have to look into it further. I've considered looking into DVC point rental too, it's a lot cheaper going that route to stay at a deluxe but I don't know all the details of the dining plan

Chiming in on an older thread as I am planning on doing the same thing as @TheDisneyDoll - platinum package for 3 nights to enjoy all the tours and restaurants, including V&A - I have no park time planned outside of tours.

You cannot add the platinum plan to a DVC stay on points, but if you rent a DVC Villa through Disney (where it is sold like a hotel room and called a "Deluxe Villa Resort") you can add the platinum plan. It is not true that you have to add platinum over the phone - I booked it with my hotel reservation online. I believe you do have to pay rack rate.

My plan is to do this over New Year's when the parks will be full to capacity anyway, but whether I actually pay for the package and take the trip is contingent upon my desired tours being offered during that holiday season and available for us. If I can't get the value out of the tours, I will just sock away my plans and think of doing this another time.

I picked WL for the Christmas decorations but it is also the cheapest Deluxe option for my timeframe and from what I can tell, the resort club level IPO staff is who books your Platinum package itinerary and Wilderness Lodge has a superbly rated CL concierge staff. I will do a write up if my plan shakes out like I want it to - the booking would be open in July so I will have to wait to see if my trip is actually going to work.

You have to pay rack rate for your room if you want the platinum plan, and it can be booked online.
I don't see the benefit of paying $260 a night for the plan plus rack rate if your only goal is to eat at V&A's?
