Ouch! Alberts

I just booked my birthday dinner for June in the regular dining room. Gotta be honest i'm planning on cheating the system a little :P
I am booking the platinum dining plan for a short stay and using the dining credits for myself and my two friends. I wish i could've booked the Queens room though :P
I'm so excited i've wants to dine there for years!

Get the deluxe dining plan if those are the restaurants you will be going to. Most people don't come out ahead with them but if you ate there twice you would be in the clear.
According to site the deluxe dining plan isn't valid at Victoria and Alberts anymore, only the platinum :P

The three-night minimum for the Platinum package really eats into the value.

I got little ones. My youngest will be 5 soon. So Victoria's isn't in our plans :( . I was being nosy when I looked. My husband is a chef. Told me about the chef table experience. I thought for sure he was pulling my leg!
He was telling me it's most likely not as free willy as one thinks. Most chef table experience the chef spends a little time with you to determine your likes or dislikes

My daughter and godson will be 5 the next time we go. It's called the Mouseketeer Club at the Grand Floridian. Or Club Disney at the Polynesian, since that's wheren we plan to stay.

I don't know what you mean by "free willy", but yes, they call you several weeks in advance to determine if there are allergies or any specific food preferences. The chef also makes an effort to speak with you during the experience. When we did the chef's table Magic Bands were still in the testing phases and after talking about them (and about how much his family enjoyed wearing them in the park), Chef Scott Hunnel went back to his office to retrieve his set of early versions to show us what they looked like. It's a very intimate atmosphere.

If you're really curious I believe there is a "Everything Victoria & Albert's" thread hanging around in the restaurant board.

I would love to do it at some point, but that point is not now. When a meal costs more than my mortgage...it makes you step back and think...

Went there last year for my FIL birthday. There were 8 of us (including a 10 and a 12 year old). Food was great but definitely not worth the price. I have had much better meals in South Beach and in the Keys that was no where near that price (wife and I both ate at Joe's stone crabs recently for a little more than one person at Alberts and the food was a lot better).

I have gone about 5 times with my Disney Divas and with a boyfriend. It was really worth it when we could use the Tables in Wonderland card. We always requested the same servers and had a great time every time that we went.

Now that they have raised the price and have removed the TiW option, I don't know if it is the same value.

I am sure that I will go again in the future because I don't have kids and sometimes like to enjoy the atmosphere of the place. I think Chef's table is on my list for my next trip.

We've done the main dining room a few times and the Queen Victoria room twice. We finally got to do the Chef's table after trying to snag it for what seemed like forever. We asked to be put on a wait list while we were there for Thanksgiving and asked to be called if it ever got cancelled for a Saturday since we are in Florida and could just drive up for a weekend. It did in January and we got the call. We let our Disney FB friends know we had the Chef's table to see who wanted to join us. We wound up with a full table. One couple flew down from the mid-west on miles just to come have dinner. It was great! We like the V&A experience a little more than Remy but that said, we always book Remy anyhow when we are on the Dream or Fantasy. I agree with the PP and thought it was a much better value with the TIW discount. It's one of our favorite restaurants and we think the experience is worth it. We were able to get a reservation at Noma which took a team of 5 Disney cruisers across the country using 21 computers, tablets and smart phones at 2 am last year. Our cruise left from Copenhagen before embarking on DCL's Norway, Iceland, Scotland last summer and despite Noma being rated the number one restaurant in the world for several years, we still thought V&A was much better and definitely more affordable o_O

We went in 1992, and I still remember it as an outstanding meal. A once in a lifetime experience, to be sure, but it was amazing.

It's the old supply and demand.

Supply is higher than demand price goes down. Demand is higher than supply prices go own.

It's how much you value your money.

My husband and I dined in the regular V&A dining room on our honeymoon 9 years ago. It was amazing and we still talk about it. But that was when you could use the tables in wonderland discount and the price was cheaper too.

My sister and I wanted to set up a dinner for our parent's 40th wedding anniversary at V&A's. But the price is too much. So we found an alternative. It's still expensive but still costs less than V&A's. There is a private dinner that you can arrange at the Grand Floridian with your own butler. They only do one private dinner a night and you get to watch the fireworks as you dine. The cost is $125 per person and $100 for the butler. We threw in a bottle of wine for our parents and with tax and gratuity, the price is less than $500.00. My sister and I are splitting it and so it's not too bad. We are surprising them and cannot wait!

My parent's anniversary isn't until the end of August so I can't say personally how it was. But I read a few amazing reviews about it on here as well as some other websites. And it sounds wonderful. I would recommend looking into doing this dinner as an alternative to V&A's.

My Wife and I dined here for our 30th anniversary 2 years ago, it is by far a great culinary experience. I was a chef for 25 years and I was impressed with the service and the food. We did not do the wine pairings, it was middle of June and HOT- we didn't want alcohol. We did upgrade to the Kobe Beef entrée- was to die for. Total cost with tip for the 2 of us was $500 bucks. (dining room-not Chefs table)

That sounds like an awesome way to celebrate your birthday. I remember a few years ago when people were booking the platinum plan for one night and staying in a Value Resort. Now Disney made it exclusive to the Deluxe Resorts and Deluxe Villas, minimum length of stay of 3 nights. Do you have to pay the rack rate for the room, too?

Free willy... Meaning u roll in.. Order ur hotdog. Eat and bounce!

I've never quit got how a five diamond restaurant and words "worth it" ever come together. It's a five diamond restaurant. I also got a giggle to see VA on the budget board.

I haven't fully looked into it yet, but i figured it'll all be worth it at least just once

V&As is expensive, we just do the main dining room and we will be around $500.

I think that is better value than a buffet any day. We don't do it often but we do it occasionally (last time was 3 years ago) it's a real treat.
