OTU Points and UY question

I'm about the add on a night to my March 2022 reservation. I'll need to call DVC to buy 24 OTU points in order to do so. I have a Dec UY. If I decide to add on another night closer to my trip (like in January or February), will I be able to buy more OTU points since I'll be in a new UY? In other words, I know you can only add on 24 OTU points per UY but is it per UY of travel or the UY of your contract? Thanks!

UY always refers to the time of travel. You won't get "new" OTUP in December. You're using up your 2021 UY OTUP. You'll be able to use more OTUP for a trip that happens after December 2022.
