Otterbox question

Good to know! My defender isn't even a year old and the rubber is so stretched out. When I try to open the charging flap at the bottom, the whole bottom of the case slips off the plastic!

I had the same same issue w/the otterbox case on my phone. It was one of the oldest ones they make for the iPhone 4, the newer ones are designed differently, and seem to fit a lot tighter. The otterbox served its purpose well that's for sure, it has saved the phone from pretty good impacts on parking lots, tile floors etc.. The rubber part is kind of loose and starting to tear around the charging port. I know the rubber part can be replaced, I didn't know that the company might replace it for you though. Definitely worth looking into. I ended up giving the phone to my mom otterbox and all. I told her that she might consider getting a another case because the one on it, although functional, is pretty junky looking now.

I got a Lifeproof for my newer 4s, was just in the mood for a change. I didn't much like it at first, but it is really starting to grow on me. I like how it doesn't seem to be too bulky.

Thanks for the info! My kids dropped my iPad, fortunately the iPad itself was fine, but the cover cracked. I sent them a photo and they're sending me a new one.

I wish we knew this! About 3 years ago DH got the Blackberry Torch and bought an otterbox for it. That particular phone had a slide down keyboard, so the otterbox had to cover that piece and extend and retract as well. The design was a little awkward but it worked. When Dh's phone dropped off the counter the case broke, but the phone was absolutely fine. We figured it had done it's job and we were happy. I didn't know I could have replaced the case for free too!
I just bought the Defender for my iPhone 5. So far so good, but at least I know now if I have a problem I can contact the company.:)

Has anyone tried calling Otterbox about an older case? I have a 1st generation iPad with an Otterbox defender case. The case has been cracked for years (my best guess is that one of my sons dropped it & didn't want to tell me) but I didn't know about the warranty. The site says the warranty is only for a year & the online form won't even let me select a case for an original iPad. I guess I'll try and call this week but I'm just curious if anyone else has tried and had some luck. Thanks!

Thanks for the info. Didn't know I would even find info on my otterbox when I looked in to read about Disney. LOL. I sent an email to see if my 2 year old case can be replaced before I break down and buy one. Keep fingers crossed.

I would guess that they no longer make the case. This happened to me with my phone case. DH bought me an Otterbox for my phone at Christmas time, by January's end, the front plate had broken. I called and they would have replaced, but no longer made as phone was an old model. (it was understandable with this particular phone why the case part didn't work that well!) they offered to return/refund, but I opted to keep using back 1/2 on phone for protection.
