Ottawa

I'm in Barrhaven too.
We went to Disney last June. I am currently trying to figure out how soon we can go back. The Allegiant air option is interesting. Perhaps that will help me convince hubby. :yay::goodvibes

Just did my semi-regular Allegiant deals check:
June 6-13: $174US/person, taxes included.

Hey Sheribo and Mtmbyk,

We'll be there at the same time too! Our regular bi-annual WDW trek. Can hardly wait; I'm more excited than the kids this time, and we've got 2 extra kids this time too (along with SIL). Will be our first time for US/IOA as well.

Flying direct from Ottawa for the first time; a bit more expensive than our usual Montreal, but easier all around. I'll see if I think it's worth the extra $$ after the trip. Our flight times are great, early down, late return; gives us most of a whole extra day to play in the sun. I won't miss facing the two hour drive when we get back home!

Let's all hope for great weather this year!

Have a great trip. We leave tomorrow!

We're in Barrhaven... and it appears we're not alone!

Usually we fly direct from Ottawa - Westjet has been convenient for us the past few years, and FirstAir used to have charters. In the winter, I will pay extra to avoid layovers or having to drive at the snowy end of the trip... if I'm going to be stuck anywhere, I'd rather it be at home than in a hotel (or the side of the highway).

This year, our flight is longer than usual, but not to Florida! We'll miss WDW - the kids are in full-out withdrawal.

Hi I'm across the river from Pembroke, nice to see so many people with the same interrest. Leaving in 3 days from Montreal.:yay::cheer2:

So has anyone here ever used DVCrequest.com?

We just submitted our request lastnight and I'm wondering if there is anyone in the area that has had any dealings with him?

This thread has been quiet for a while. I'm from Cornwall, about an hour drive from the east end of Ottawa. We will be going to WDW in just under a month. Will be staying a POFQ. It will be DD and DS's first trip to WDW.

I am in Kemptville and am hoping for our first trip to WDW in September 2012 and we will be staying at POR!!!

Not sure where to fly out of .... will have to start checking prices in a few months! :)

Welcome HabsFan,

Despite cheering for the wrong team ;) we're glad to see this thread popped back to the top. You are probably in the best position for travel, with options close out of Trudeau or head south to a US hub for a departure.

Hope your kids love it; makes repeat visits much easier!

That probably puts you an hour closer to WDW than the rest of us (during rush hour). Don't forget to check the prices from South of the border. Syracuse should be much cheaper than Ottawa, and you're early enough in the season to not worry about the snow.

Well it all worked out quite well for us last May. Nearly 1/2 the price of the studio at SSR through his regular price.

Found the whole thing quite seemless and the accomodations are great. If you don't need/require daily cleaning in your room then I highly recommend taking a good look into it.

Hey everyone, fellow Nepeanite here, have been to wdw twice this year, March break, and star wars weekends for the first time, which was a blast.

Hoping to go agin in December, but we'll see - i'll be going again before March to make full use of my annual pass. Unfortunately won't get to see the food and wine festival, maybe next year..

Well nice to see this thread back. So let's do a March Break roll-call.........

We are flying March 7th out of Syracuse on Jet Blue (flight was cheaper than last year out of Montreal ).

Staying at Marriott Grande Vista again. Hoping to squeeze in some Disney and Universal but not if the crowds are as nuts as this year. Hoping for the same weather though! It was perfect this past March.

Love to hear from you Ottawa Disers.

Just came back from WDW. We flew Jet Blue out of Syracuse, what a great experience. We wanted a direct flight, and compared to the prices out of Montreal, it was worth the drive.

Yes, we are going in March, of 2013  Oh that is still SO FAR AWAY!!! :scared1:

At least I have the DISboards to keep the dream alive until then :goodvibes

Not really from ottawa but there 2 weeks a month for business. Does that count?

I am up in North Bay.

We're driving down over March break which we've done many times. Our friends fly direct and arrive in just a few short hours. It's so tempting to fly but the cost for a big family can be huge over spring break. I know we would fly if it were just the 2 of us but 6 people in a minivan is much more cost effective. And what an adventure!! :grouphug:
