People think i am a strange individual because I love Disney World and would just rather vacation there because I know I will have a good time. WDW cannot fail you!

So my question is, do you take other vacations to other places or is it Disney World all the way, every year!?!

We go other places too. There is just so much of the country and world that I'd like to see beyond WDW. WDW is usually our most stress-free vacation, however.

If I had my way I'd go to Disney every other year but we do go to other locations. Favorite places to visit: Virginia, Washington, DC, Pennsylvania.

Our goal in the next 2 years:
Paris/London

I consider Disney World my "vacation home". It is my comfortable place to go to make me feel great, the way people may go over and over again to their vacation home elsewhere.

When in the mood for adventure, its off to New Zealand, Australia or Europe in search of natural beauty and different cultural experiences.

My visits to Epcot and AK remind me of the amazing places I've been to all over the world.

Although I do love WDW I've been blessed to be able to go to many other places as well:

Hawaii (Oahu, Maui, Big Island)
Miami
Cali
Cozumel
Belize
Bermuda
Tortola (BVI)
Arizona
Canada
England
France
Australia
and of course LBI, NJ!! :cool1:

The last three years WDW has been our major vacation. It is definelty our favorite place to go and would go more often if we could afford it. We love to camp so we take weekend camping trips to some local campgrounds and to the Poconos.

My DW is from Sweden, so we switch off everyother year with a family vacation and a trip back home to Sweden to see family. It was a lot less expensive before the kids, so now trips may even be further apart since we have to purchase 4 tickets during the peak summer fares to go back home to Sweden.

Otherwise, any place you can scuba dive or ski are our other vacations. Mainly,
Cozumel
Caymans
BVI
Solomon Islands
Turks and Caicos
The Keys
Keystone, CO (on DVC points! )
Vermont

Each year we try to do:
1 "big" trip to WDW (7-10 days)
1 long weekend to WDW
1 "big" trip someplace else like Virginia Beach, Maine, Mrytle Beach, Washington DC, or NYC
1 long weekend camping trip

I love Disney but the other trips help balance everything out.

I love going to WDW but there is a whole world out there. We take a two week cruise each year and go to the Caribbean and last year went to the Maldives. For us, the world is too beautiful to miss so we do it WDW AND the rest of the world.

I would go to WDW for every vacation if it was financially possible, of course my DH wouldn't ever allow it! We are trying to plan a trip to WDW for 2006 and we haven't been there since 2000 so IT'S TIME! We do go on a family trip to the Outer Banks every year, in fact we are leaving in 10 days, provided no emergencies arise (DH's grandmother is in ICU on a vent). I would love to go to WDW every year, I'm so jealous of the people that have that opportunity!

I have been to many places other than Disney:

Las Vegas (will be going again Summer 2006)
California
Virginia Beach
Cape Cod
New Hampshire
Rhode Island

I would LOVE to go to Australia and Greece, but I know it is not in my budget right now.

Still love the DISNEY though!

I am actually thinking about going to Greece next summer! Maybe spending a couple days in Italy! Its just hard bc i'm in grad school right now, but I"ll be out in early January!

Yes, we go other places. We used to visit Disney once a year awhile back, when we first met and lived in NJ, we kept that up for a number of years, joined DVC...the whole thing. A few years back we started to feel that we've BTDT with respect to vacationing at WDW. We still made a couple of trips in those two years though, but it was to bring other people down with us and show them the World.

Last year we moved to Orlando and in doing so, removed WDW from our list of vacation spots. We both still enjoy Disney and visit the parks as day-trippers, but I don't know that we would have been doing the every year thing forever and ever had we not moved here. Even now, when we do go to the parks, it's generally not to ride attracations, more to walk around, eat, shop a bit or for one of the Festivals. We generally only do rides when the lines are very short, and then only a few of our favorites.

my family has always been Disney nuts...my first trip to Disney happened in utero :rotfl: (so I guess it was only destiny that I should be a Disney fanatic ;) ) And while we have vacationed at Disney many many many times. (3 members of the family are DVC members now as well) we do vacation outside of Disney. In the last decade a number of us in my family have become HUGE cruise fans as well. (at some point I am sure I will be able to talk them into a Disney cruise)

We go other places. This year we went to the Wisconsin Dells.

We also add on days to our Disney trips. Last year it was Vero Beach and next year it is Cocoa Beach.

Now that the youngest is really old enough to remember and enjoy more things, I'm sure we will do something every year.

I definitely want to get to D.C.

My husband and I used to go to other destinations. Then we had children and changed our vacation habits--Disney, Disney, Disney. However, next year we are skipping Disney and are going to Beaches (the resort) in Jamaica. My children absolutely love Disney, but are looking forward to Jamaica. They got a taste of the Caribbean when we went on the Magic last year and asked to spend a vacation at a beach.

We consider Disney our "big vacation". We tyr to go every year or every other year. Last summer we went to Williamsburg VA & we all missed Disney.

We take a week or so every summer to vacation in Cape Cod which is wonderful since we all like the beach & home made ice cream.

We will also be heading to Arizona next week (my DH will be there on business so we thought we'd make a trip out of it).

If I could visit Disney every year I would!!!!

We ONLY go to WDW...we have no interest in going anywhere else. I know, I know, there is probably something wrong with us. But we love WDW so much, that is where we like to spend our time.

Sure, we go to other places besides Disney. We try to plan one big trip a year and then a couple smaller ones. Our past few have been great experiences for all of us. (Kids are 11 and 12 now)

2007 - ?? (thinking Pacific Northwest)
2006 - WDW
2005 - Short 4 day cruise to the Bahamas (our first cruising experience and it was GREAT!)
2004 - 10 days in Puerto Morelos Mexico (just south of Cancun)
2003 - 2 week RV rental in Denver and toured Colorado/Utah/New Mexico/Arizona national parks (I recommend this for everyone - my favorite trip to date)

We also like to ski so we generally take time off to do that as well.

The world is a great big beautiful place...enjoy it!
