OTHER than your home resort...

Just curious, *OTHER* than your home resort(s), which resort(s) do you most like to stay at?

Just a fun question and looking for some inspiration what resort to try next. Thanks!

Ive never stayed at my home resort, I only purchased it cause it was so cheap!!!!!

I own at SSR and it really is my favorite DVC resort... I don't feel as relaxed anywhere else as I do at "Home"!

But...

AKV-Kidani is a very, very close second. In fact, it's been first choice above SSR the last few trips because I find it almost as relaxing (though both my DS and I prefer SSR's pools), and it comes with my favorite on-site amenity of all: covered parking!

I haven't tried VWL yet - we'll be there this summer - but I wouldn't be surprised to see it make my DVC favorites list; the WL has long been a favorite place for us.

OKW. I love the relaxed Florida atmosphere!

OKW is not only my home resort but also my favorite.

We alternate in this order, OKW, BWV, OKW, SSR, OKW, Kidani (much prefer it to Jambo)

BLT, BCV, VWL, tried them, prefer the others by far!

AKV is our only home resort, and it's bar far our favorite of those we've stayed at so far. It's also the only place we've stayed more than once.

We've stayed at BLT, OKW, SSR, and VWL once each, and of those, the only one we'd even consider staying at again is OKW, or maybe if we were bringing another family we'd try for the treehouses at SSR.

We've got BWV booked for this October, but are waitlisted at VGC, so there may be a new fave after this next trip, but as much as our family loves AKV, I doubt anything else will compare.

We own at OKW & BWVs and love both. We have stayed at BCVs, VWL, SS & BLT and enjoyed all. On our list is AKVs & VGC. Someday -- Aulani!

AKV, VGC are our only home resorts, we've stayed at AKV, VGC, BWV, VB, BLT, OKW, SSR, and VWL. We love both of our home resorts. Of the others, we'd like to stay again OKW because their doubt queen beds and lower point requirement. And VB becasue it is completely different from a typical WDW vacation experience.

I thought picking a favorite resort would be a challenge, but for us it was an easy choice. Our favorite resort is the one we are in at the time. We have stayed at all of them and if you can't enjoy your stay at any of them, you're just not trying.

We own a small contract at VB (never stayed there) and another small contract at AKV - love it! Next favorite DVC is probably BWV. We stayed there during our wedding trip and we love the proximity to Epcot, which is one of our favorite parks.
My new favorite non-DVC is the Poly.

We own at BWV and have NEVER stayed there.

We prefer OKW and that's where we usually stay. We prefer the condo/townhouse feel of OKW over the hotel feel of most of the other DVC resorts. To us it just "feels" more like home.

We have stayed at VWL and while we really liked the theming of the resort, the hallways, along with the much smaller room size (we usually get a 1BR), were really not for us.

Finally, when I'm on vacation IN Florida, I want to feel like I'm IN Florida. BWV, SSR, and BCV are all themed like places I can visit within a couple of hours from home. Even VWL, while themed like Old Faithful, has a mountain lodge feel to it that can also be replicated not too far from home.


ETA: all that said, we are planning a trip with our DGD this fall. This will be her first trip to WDW, so I am thinking she might like AKV, even with the smaller rooms.

We own at BLT... love the view ,the options of being on the monorail and walk to MK My second would be the Beach Club for the BW atmosphere , pool and the quick walk to Epcot and the easy access to Hollywood studios !

I prefer staying at AKL Kidani for the extra bathroom, larger living room and parking underneath. Next would be OKW for the size of rooms and parking by building. Then comes BWV and BCV for closeness to Epcot and DHS.

My "non-home" favorite is AKV-Jambo, the value studios. We own at OKW, HHI, and BCV and if I could buy more points, it would be at AKV. However, DH has this idea that we need to buy groceries, and gasoline, and electricity and all stupid stuff like that. I'd say he has his priorities all screwed up.

We own BCV and BLT. When not staying in either one of them we prefer OKW. It's great when you can park your car right outside of your room and not have to walk long hallways to get to your room. The villas are also much bigger than most others and you get the great Florida feeling while staying there.

Our home resorts are Saratoga and Animal Kingdom.

We bought Saratoga as it was the newest resort - we hadn't stayed at any other DVC resorts, so we didn't buy it because it was our fav. We bought as we had no other choice for a new resort. We do enjoy staying there, and have stayed there more than any other resort, but it's not our fav.

Animal Kingdom is one of our fav resorts to stay at, but we haven't stayed in a few years, so are looking forward to our stay this summer.

That being said, our fav resort for all 4 of us is OKW! Absolutely love it, and it truly feels like home!

Home resorts are: OKW, BWV & WLV. Owners at OKW since '92. Our family mantra was "Old Key West is the BEST"

Until we tried BLT when it firsted opened and found that we love BLT

Our Home Resorts are AKV and SSR. Our favorites, or I should say MY favorites are AKV (Kidani), then BWV followed by VWL. I love the serenne quietness of Kidani and at times, especially Food and Wine, love the hustle and bustle of BWV. VWL, are great for both and you cannot beat that boat ride to MK!!! We have stayed at SSR twice in the past 6 years and love it too, it is a beautiful resort and you cannot beat being close to Downtown Disney. I have grown children so the pool at BCV does not hold any appeal to me. I would like to try BLT on a future trip!!!

I own most of my points at BWV and a few at AKV. If I can I always chose BWV first as that is my favorite resort with no close second. I stay a couple of days only at AKV to see the animals but could not stay more than that without being bored as I do not have young children. It works for me as a change of pace. I have stayed at OKW several times when i had a choice between that and SSR. If its just my immediate family I love it as it is so spacious and quaint, however when we have a large group it is not as convenient. SSR is okay but only stay there when I can't get anything else.
Beach club doesn't appeal to me as much as BWV as the views are just so so and i think the view across the lake to the beach club is prettier than the look of the boardwalk from Beach club. I would chose this resort next though for closeness to Epcot.

Haven't stayed at BLT for the same reason I would never stay at the contemporary..cold looking with little theming. My favorite mono rail resort is the poly and would stay there if it were a DVC and would also love to stay at new GFV..more to my taste.

Never stayed at WV as I live in a place surrounded by pine trees and solitude so its not what i see on vacation but it is a beautiful resort to visit. If I go to Hawaii would not stay at Disney resort there as i visited the location while it was 90% built and it was too remote and on the wrong island for my vacation dreams. I always stay Maui with a short stop in Oahu.

Luckily we all have different taste and dreams for a perfect vacation and any place in disney is better than most places so i feel blessed to have discovered DVC back when it was truly a deal.

We own at AKV and my children will tell you that whenever I stay at a new resort I proclaim it "the best resort ever!" We've stayed at AKV, BCV, BWV and SSR and will be staying at BLT this summer and so far we've really loved each resort and what it has to offer. We're planning on staying at OKW next year, followed by VWL which would complete our WDW DVC resort stays until the GFV or is it VGF opens!

We love AKV for the savannah view, the spaciousness of the 1BR units and the underground parking (very convenient!). We like the proximity to Epcot and DHS that BCV and BWV provides (plus the really great pool at BCV and all the activity at BWV). We enjoyed SSR for its relaxing atmosphere and the short boat ride to DTD.

At the end of the day we've enjoyed each of the DVC resorts we've stayed at for different reasons and are looking forward to BLT, OKW, and VWL.

We have stayed at AKL-Jambo, AKL-Kidani, and BCV. We have also stayed WL before DVC. (AKL-Jambo would probably be our favorite of these.)
