I know a lot of people save change for Disney, but I don't. I save our change for our DD's(4 & 18 months) college spending money. I already have a MSEP (Michigan Savings Education Program) account set up where we have a certain amount deducted each time we get paid. However, I know when I was in college it's those little things you need money for food, gas, food, clothes & did I say food. So, I started saving change for DD's when first DD was 1. So far she has over $1,000 in her account. Some of it is Birthday, X-Mas money too, and DD 18 monts has about $400 in hers. Everyday we usually split the change in between their banks and sometimes singles also. We usually go to the bank once a month with it.

I was just curious to see what others have saved their change for.

Well.... all of my change goes in the "vacation" fund, but it is not all for WDW (although the majority is). We take a yearly vacation with my parents and my brother and his family and the $800 that it costs for our portion of the cottage comes out of there usually. And DD and I are planning a trip to the Laura Ingalls Wilder Home in Missouri next year, so that will come out of the vacation account also. But it is mostly for WDW, as that is our most expensive vacation!! If we go away for a weekend here or there we jut pay it out of our "regular" money. I have money direct deposited into each child's account every month and I have also always put in any birthday, Easter, Christmas money they receive. We are no where near saving enough for college, but I'm hoping we can start increasing that savings amount soon. ..............P

I'm saving our change to buy shore excursions on our cruise around the Hawaiian Islands in October. Got over $600 right now. This is a once in a lifetime vacation and I want to see as much as I can.

Just for WDW, that way I save a LOT!;) To me there is nothing else to save for!;)

Ours is for whatever vacation we are taking. We are starting over since we used it in April for a (non-Disney) trip to Florida.

My change jar right now is for my Disney vacation in 2006. However, if an emergency comes up, I will use what's in the jar for that. DH and I also have a cushion in our checking account and that is ONLY for necessary things. For example, DH needs a new helmet and we need to get him one immediately.
I'm just glad I have more than one place to pull money from. It definitely comes in handy.

We've had friends who save change for college funds.

Personally, we've saved change for Christmas presents. Right now, though, we've been saving it for Disney. Technically, just the dimes, nickels and pennies, but (shhh, don't tell!!!! ;)) I've been secretly pilfering some quarters that so far my spouse hasn't seemed to miss. :o :smooth: :o :smooth: :o
