I am looking for an ECV to rent during our trip in May due to my ongoing knee injury. Today I called Scooter 4U and Deckerts, and they quoted me $30 and $40 a day respectively. Is there anywhere else I should call? The only discount they offered for AAA was 2.5% at Scooter 4U and $5 off at Deckert's (not sure if that is per day or total, since it was still more than Scooter 4U). Has anyone else found other discounts anywhere? My hubby is 50, so we could join AARP under him. Any additional advice would be great, thanks!

We rented from D&R mobility. Their number was 714-883-8761.They dropped the scooter off at our hotel and picked it up from there when we left.

You might also want to try Apple Scooter. Sample of their prices are 3 days for $85, 4 days $100, 7 days $130. We used them at WDW last summer and will be using them at DL in July.

We rented from Apple to and found their pricing to be the most competitive. It also includes the rental insurance. I had read a review that someone posted from another company, that claimed the scooter broke and they wanted to change him to repair it (even though the customer said they didn't misuse it in anyway).

Another good thing about Apple is they will drop it off and pick it up from your hotel.

Thank you both, I will check the out! I think Scooters 4U and Deckert's include free drop off and pick up as well.

Just curious, why doesn't anyone rent them at the Disneyland main entrance? It's pretty much the same price. Are they just nicer elsewhere?

In m experience, it's less expensive to go through an outside company. It's also much more convenient since it's dropped off at the hotel and picked up after I check out.

If you're going during a busy time of year, you also run a risk of Disney running out of scooters. Since I really can't tour the parks without a scooter or wheelchair, I'd rather be safe than sorry.

If you rent from an outside company, you also have it with you to get to and from the parks, and to use while waiting in line. Plus you don't have to spend time getting it every day. I'm a very active person who hated the thought of using an ECV on my last trip, but a knee injury after we had booked the trip necessitated it. I would have been miserable trying to keep walking everywhere, plus I would have set back my recovery. So I was very thankful for this option that made it possible for my family to still go. It took thise board convincing me, though. ;) It worked great to have the scooter delivered to the hotel and for me to have the entire time. I didn't have to move stuff in and out of it either--pretty much just kept it set up and ready to go each morning.:thumbsup2

Disneyland rental per day is now $50/day, with restricted access...DECKERT'S is $135 for 5-days...free drop-off/pick-up at your hotel...I think that is a big savings...thier # is 714-542-5607...

I have rented from Deckerts for over 8 years, and always highly recommend them. When you call to get prices, always tell them how long you will need it as they discount it over days. I have it this time for 4.5 days for $114. (Wed at 8am to Sunday noon. They dropped off and will pick up from the Grand.)

Two quick questions... If I rent one at DL can it go to CA as well, and secondly If you rent from an off site company.. do you know if the scooters are allowed to go on the shuttles/bus's from the hotel to DL and back? Thanks in advance. :goodvibes

We just reserved two ECV's (they give you different choice options on which kind of ECV you want) for my both my mom and dad. $180 I believe for 3 day use. We used Apple. I hope everything goes smoothly we leave in less than 36 hours!!!!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

[If you rent at DL, the scooter can go to either park.

If you rent offsite, they HAVE to allow on bus and shuttle.

off site ends up being cheaper, you have access to DTD and a way to shuttles and hotels.

I hope you have a great trip! We used Apple in Orlando last year for my mom and had a great experience. We are going to DLR in July and plan to use Apple again out there. However, I haven't seen any recent reviews of Apple in Anaheim. If you don't mind, will you please report back on your experience. Thanks in advance.

So we just got back. I have a few comments about renting from Apple. We stayed at the Tropicana Inn and Suites and apparently this hotel does not allow them to come and just drop off the scooters, you have to be present for delivery and return. Not a big deal if you are at the hotel already but if not..yikes.

My mom and dad both got one. Half way through our first Disney day my dads beep beep button malfunctioned and wouldn't shut up! So he drove it back to the hotel before the battery died and called them up. They came and exchanged it. The chargers were not the best. It could have been the hotel though as well so I can't be sure but the second and final day at the parks my moms showed it had half battery and then just died.

She tried to charge it at the park but it wouldn't work. They called and said they had to go outside the park so they ended up at the Grand California. They did come fairly quick with a new scooter but after having to manually push it over to the hotel and waiting to get another one and then having to go back to the park was a hassle.

Overall they were ok, they did come and fix the problems as soon as they could which was a plus but from now on I believe we will just use Deckertt. Hope that helps!

I have no experience with these vehicles, but I think we may need to rent one for my mom if we go to DL during our summer So. Cal. trip. If we rent off site as recommended, how easy/hard it is to load these vehicles to the back of our minivan? Are they super heavy or okay for one person (DH)? We're staying ~ 2 miles from DL and had planned to drive to DL (if we go).
