I don't know if this is the right board for this...but, I was wondering if anyone had any opinion of any restaurants off site?? We will be eating dinner off site three times during our trip. I was considering Baskervilles, The Outback Restaurant (in the Wyndham resort), and Coney Island Seafood and Lobster Feast. Has anyone eaten at any of these restaurants that can give me an opinion on them??? Thanks!!!

The only restaurant that you mentioned that we have dined at is the Outback in the Wyndham Palace Resort. I'm sure you already know that it is NOT part of the Outback chain. We enjoyed our meal there. The atmosphere is nice, kind of dimly lit with plants around which made it seem like you had privacy at your table at least where we were seated anyway. The service and food were very good. I don't remember exactly everything we had but I do remember having some good seafood stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer. Bear with me because it was 3 years ago and my memory fails sometimes but I think I had prime rib and dh steak or perhaps a shrimp dish? DD ordered off the adult menu but can't remember what she ordered. Both ds ordered off the children's menu. I do know that we enjoyed our meal and were pleasantly surprised.

I can't tell you anything about any of them. The only off site restaurants we dine in are Bahama Breeze and Romano's Macaroni Grill. We really love both of them. We will be trying Landrys this next vacation because we will be there 19 days and 8 of them will be off site. I've printed their menu and it looks really good.

Where is this coney island seafood place located at? I can't seem to find it..thanks for the info

Coney Island Seafood & Lobster Feast is at 5150 w. US 192 -- located at the Ramada East Gate. I have spoken to a couple of people on a different board who said that they were really good. There is a buy one get one buffet coupon in Entertainment book for them. You can also sign up for a free subscription and print the coupon out off of your coupon...but, make sure that you use it within 14 days of printing or it is invalid.

The Landry's we went to (San Antonio) was very good, a step above other chain seafood places. On our last visit for dinner one night we ordered take out from Olive Garden. We'll do that again in a heartbeat. Chilis is also just down the street and offers their menu as carry out, we'll probably try that too. We fed our group (10 adults, 2 kids - plus a baby who didn't participate) for less than $100, and had leftover salad to graze on for days!

If you must go offsite, Celebration has several good spots. I can personally recommend Cafe 'Antonio and the Celebration Town Tavern.

BAHAMA BREEZE! BAHAMA BREEZE!!! There are about 10 Disney nuts in my office and we all LOVE LOVE LOVE Bahama Breeze. The food is awesome. In fact we torture each other when we go and tell each other what we're going to eat and then we email pictures back to everyone working. (kinda of a wish you were here). They even have a website.;)

As I said before, I do love Bahama Breeze and would recommend the place to anyone. You can get small or large portions on many of the items. I also love the ultimate pina colada, it is to die for.

If you go make sure you go early. It is a favorite of the locals also and tends to get very crowded after 6 or 7, especially on weekends.

If we go for the Olive Garden, Chilis, Outback take outs (we have eating facilities in our suite) will the wait be long? Do they have a special area to go to order these? and are we better to phone an order in ahead?

Also we are right by Bahama Breeze LBV. What sort of time do these restaurants open for dinner? We will probably eat early 5-5.30 if we can as our children are very young.

We have started to venture off-site and have eaten at a number of restaurants that we would recommend:

Cafe Tu Tu Tango: Except for our first family trip and our latest trip (due to arrival time), we always eat lunch here on our way to WDW from the airport. It is somewhat eclectic - it is filled with artist's work (that is for sale) and usually there is an artist actually working there. The food is "small plates" (like tapas) and some of the items are a bit different (fried alligator bites - which DS has been eating since the first time we went), but there are dishes that will appeal to everyone. You can eat as much or as little as you like and it is fun to view the artwork. The staff is very nice and children are welcome. (The white sangria is great and calms my stress from the airplane trip, getting luggage, car, etc.)
There website is www.cafetututango.com.

Bahama Breeze: I agree with all the rave reviews, except that the "no reservation" policy has prevented us from eating there regularly.

The Melting Pot: This is a small chain of fondue restaurants and fondue, plus salad, is all that's on the menu. The fondues, though, are not just typical cheese fondues ) although those are on the appetizer menu. You can actually choose meat, fish, chicken, pork, duck, etc. and cook the pieces yourselves in either hot oil or various hot broths. Then, of course, there are dessert fondues. They also have a good wine list and great drinks that are big enough for several people to share. We really enjoyed ourselves and had a terrific meal. It was a very difference experience. We went for the whole "shebang" - cheese fondue, saldads, mixed meats fondue (asian style, so it included pot stickers) and chocolate fondue, as well as wine, so it was a very expensive meal. You could, however, eat less extravangtly (and expensively) then we did. It is a great space - all sorts of nooks and cranies where booths are set up, and the service was tremendous. It's an evening's adventure, and not just a quick meal. Their website is www.themeltingpot.com.

B-Line Diner at the Peabody Hotel: This is a real fifties-style diner with a great (free) jukebox and is open 24 hours. We ended up having a late night meal there after attending a comedy club performance. There were not many people there, but the service and the food were fabulous. We will definitely go back there - we'd love to see what breakfast is like. The desserts looked unbelievable, but we were too full and it was too late. You could probably just go there for dessert as well.

Other places that we've heard are good and have wanted to try are Ming Court and Siam Orchid.

We have eaten at Pebbles at the Crossroads shopping center a number of times. Good food, good service, nice wine list. This is a small Orlando-area chain (three locations, I think). Recommended.

Oops, I forgot one: The Cheesecake Factory, which is at The Mall at Millenia (which is a beautifully-designed mall, but mostly window shopping for us since the stores are very upscale). It's a full-service version of food court at Disney Quest. It too is a chain and we've eaten at others. The food is very good and varied and the portions are HUGE!! DH, DS and I ordered three appetizers, a salad to share, and three entrees. After we saw the size of the appetizers, though, we cancelled the entrees (our waitress was very amenable). We didn't even finish the appetizers, because we wanted to leave room for dessert. The variety of cheesecakes was unbelievable and I think you can order full ones to go. They also have a website: www.thecheesecakefactory.com.

Tony Roma's is really good too. They serve really good ribs and steak.
