Other cruise lines

Dreams Unlimited books many cruise lines. :thumbsup2

I recently sailed on NCL's Pride of America and booked through Dreams Unlimited. Even though it wasn't Disney we still got an On Board Credit. With the free drink package we actually left the cruise not owing any money. That has never happened before! ;)

We book all cruises with Costco. Over 10% back with executive membership. Their service is great as well, hold times are usually pretty good, any agent that answers will help, and they will call the cruise line and then call me back with any changes that need to be made if there is a long hold (seems to be a problem with Disney and not any of the other cruise lines we have used).

9 of our 10 cruises were booked through a Travel Agent. Last one, in October 2019 was booked directly through Celebrity.
Only difference I noticed is Celebrity booked a crazy routing for our flights. Cruise was out of Vancouver, they flew us from Sacramento to LOS ANGELES to Vancouver, and the opposite routing coming back. So we flew 1600 miles in total out of our way. However, the air fare was about half what the routing I would have picked would have cost.

What did you think of Pride of America? We enjoyed our cruise but it was different than any other cruise we have taken (including two other NCL cruises, RCCL, HAL, Disney, Celebrity and Paquet)
The ship wasn't a destination like other cruises, it was just basically your hotel taking you to different ports.
It also was our only NCL cruise with Freestyle dining. Waited 90 minutes for a table the first night, so much for "eat when you like" But we found a work around. Every night we made reservations for the next night as soon as we arrived for dinner, with the same server team. The last night the servers said they really appreciated us requesting them each night as that as it put them in a good light with their bosses.

Book it myself, online. Same with flights and hotels.

My very first cruise, Disney, was booked through Expedia or Priceline. Three weeks in advance, with no knowledge of cruising. Still had a great time, despite going in clueless.

Travel agencies are easier to deal with now - not having to go to a Brick & Mortar shop. Send emails.

We really enjoyed it for what it was. When we sail DCL we are on it for the ship experience. The only port I care about is CC. POA was our room, transportation, most food, and tour guide (we did mostly NCL excursions). This was a once in a lifetime trip to Hawaii so the ports were the star of the cruise. We were at 40% capacity and many venues were closed. I would have liked a little more but again, we were there for Hawaii. Of course we compared everything to DCL and surprisingly there were some things I liked better on POA. ;)

Not sure about 2019, but now on Flights by Celebrity, you choose your flights. And if they are changed subsequently due to airline changes, you can call and request new ones.
