OK it is not for me. a coworker is sailing from Miami and she flys into Ft. Lauderdale. They told her to take a cab it would be around $60 to her hotel and then another 20-30 to the terminal the next day.

Isn't Ft Lauderdale like an hour away? I guess that explains the amount. I would think that most car rental agencies would be located at the airport. Do you know the name of the airport in Ft. Lauderdale? I do not. I would look on their website and see what they offer. Maybe someone will know the anser though and your friend will not have to do any leg work.
Here is a question and I will admit it is for me. We are cruising on RCI's FOS next November. A large group from another board is staying at the Marriott. Does anyone know if the Marriott has any type of transprotation? I did not see that they did. I know I can take my own advice and look agian or call them but it is over 13 months away I am in no real hurry.
