"Other Charges"

You'll need to make your own beds except for full cleaning day. Unless unmade beds don't bother you. We make our bed every morning at home, so we make it every morning at WDW.

You'll have a vacuum cleaner in the villa, too, so you can vacuum up any messes that you make.

The only mandatory fee I can think of is the $95 charged to inbound exchange guests using RCI or (for a few more months) II. Otherwise, it would be easy to avoid anything that incurred a charge.

This made me laugh very hard.....

Trash & Towel Service
For stays of seven or less nights, Trash & Towel Service is provided on day four, regardless of whether you're using Member-discounted cash, Vacation Points or a combination of both.

With Trash & Towel service, Housekeeping will:

* Empty trash and replace liners in trash bins.
* Provide fresh bathroom linens.
* Replace shampoo, facial soap and bath soap.
* Replenish facial tissues, paper towels and toilet paper.
* Replenish coffee, sugar, cream and sweeteners.
* Replenish dishwashing liquid, dishwashing detergent, sponges and laundry detergent as needed in one-, two- and three-bedroom Vacation Homes.

We are members who just stayed 5 nights at SSR pre-cruise and 5 nights there post-cruise.

The first week housekeeping just put the basket outside our door - never came in or brought it in or said anything. Just left it outside on the morning of Day 4 - we dragged it in that night and used more towels the next morning.

The second week (post-cruise), housekeeping knocked on the door on the morning of Day 4, pointed to the basket left there and in very broken English said something like, "You take basket, leave dirty towels and trash in hall. I will pick up."

It all seemed pointless as we were checking out the next day in both instances, but the lack of explanation, and the basket just sitting there was just...???.

There was certainly no "replacing", "replenishing" or "emptying" going on, that's for sure!

Sounds little misleading to me. I will be staying at home resort at the SSR(New dvc member:banana:) in November. I would still need to clean the bed linings or i am incorrect. I have the limited service -towels and trash. :confused3 Or would reserving service for bed cleaning be ok. I dont mind cleaning the stuff myself. :confused3

Are you saying you want clean bed linens every day????? If you are used to clean bed linens every day at home, then yes, you can pay for that at DVC resorts too, or you can wash them yourself in the laundry room in your unit.

If you want the bedding CHANGED each day, the only way to get that is to pay the daily mousekeeping fee (which for a 2 bedroom is currently $60).

Frankly, we LOVE that mousekeeping stays out! In fact, I usually gather up the trash on Trash and towel day and place the dirty towels in the tub so they have only to pick up the old ones and replace them with new and take the trash with them when they leave.

We did pay for a full cleaning one day of our January trip in a 2 bedroom at Jambo house. It was TOTALLY NOT WORTH what we paid! They didn't really do a full cleaning at all, and I complained about it, so they took the charge off too, but not until they came up and redid the service I had requested. We had new guests coming in mid trip, and I wanted a full cleaning for them.

They usually leave the towels, sheets, etc in a basket outside the door at OKW and SSR. But then the housekeepers come around and put them in place. You're not really supposed to do it yourself. There must have been a lack of communication since the housekeeper you spoke do seemed to have language barriers.

Yep, I found the "language barrier" to be quite common at WDW this trip. I can understand housekeeping being ESL, but I found it quite prevalent on the "front lines" - positions that regularly need to converse with the general public.

Now I have no problem at all with our "melting pot", but it seems to me, from a service standpoint, that those on the "front lines" need to have a better-than-proficient grasp of conversing in English - both speaking it, understanding it and communicating it to others (such as when a manager needs to be brought into a situation - another LONG story).

I found it to be like playing a game of "Post Office" this trip - say something, and see how it is passed on, until it comes back to you as unrecognizable.
