I see Williamsburg, Virgina threads on here often. Of course now that I am planning a trip there, I cannot find them!

Anybody have recommendations for books, websites, or planning DVDs to get started planning my trip there? I know about the basic area attractions but of course I want to know more!

TIA

have you checked the official website, history dot org? or the related ones, historyisfun dot org? pull down the calendar on the CW website to get a good idea of exactly what will be going on every hour you are there. There are lots of timeshare rentals available for modest prices as well, and if you want Busch Gardens and Water Country included, check that website for bounce passes.

Tell me about Busch Gardens. We are thinking of skipping it. I will be 20 weeks pregnant by then and obviously not riding thrill rides. Our daughter likes more "medium" rides like Star Tours and Space Mountain (not tower of terror or space mountain). Looks to me like the kids section is very babyish and then there are big roller coasters.

Is this correct? I'm just going by their website.

We will be skipping the waterpark due to the time of year we are going.

the kids' section is for very young children-maybe age 3-4 would be best. As you mentioned, BG specializes more in "thrill" rides for the preteen/teen set. It is well landscaped and had a nice show, Emerald beat. It was okay, but we much preferred spending time in Colonial Williamsburg and seeing their special evening shows (grand medley of entertainment is fabulous).

What time of year are you coming to W'burg? If Water Country is open you should definately check it out. We went for the first time in years (just moved back home here to VA) and my DD5 LOVED WC-USA. They have GREAT kid areas (and she loved all the big water rides too). Also, the Yankee Candle flagship store on Richmond Road is fun. It's huge. Has a Cmas room where it snows every hour, a build a bear kind of place, a cafe to eat. It's a fun place to spend some time. Colonial W'burg of course is nice too for walking around and taking in the history. Jamestown is another place to check out.
