Since I still have 315 days left to go until our cruise, I've gotta keep myself busy. I'd like to put together gift bags for the 6 families that are going. I thought I'd put things like Disney pens, notepads, stickers, coloring books, crayons, bon voyage signs, pail and shovels, night lights, etc. in them. I'd like to get as much Disney themed stuff as possible. I know I could head to the Disney Store, but that would cost me an arm and a leg!

Where do you buy your Disney merchandise? I'd like to keep costs down. I thought if I'd buy something each month it wouldn't be too bad.

Anybody have any other ideas for what I could put in the bags?

TIA!:Pinkbounc

Sometimes you can find Disney pencils, small notepads, etc at the Dollar Store or Big Lots. If you don't have these stores near you, I'd be happy to check the ones near me.

For my youngest DD's first trip I had made up little gift bags to give the kids on the plane. We went with then friends who also had 2 DD's.

I found these cute Minnie Mouse clip on flashlights at Christmas Tree Shoppe. They were about 4-5 inches long, shaped like her with a cute dress on and a little switch in the back for the small light it had. I thought it was great for the dark rides and they clipped her onto their fanny packs.

I also go not the disney.com site and print out coloring pages for the kids of their favorite characters. I would keep an eye out at the Disney Store for pens being on sale. A year ago I got this really cute Pooh pen that it covered in a furry material, top half is brown and bottom is red and it has a dangling stuffed honeypot. I think I paid under $2 for it. I use it when I go grocery shopping because it does fall out of the carriage as easily as others.

Don't forget about the Disney fruit snacks you can get at the grocery store too. You have time to get those though.

As far as the crayons go, I would wait for the back to school sales. I got my girls 24 packs of Crayola crayons for less than $.50 from Office Max this year. That is a great time to get a killer buy on those and at least they would be the better ones.

I know my party stores usually have stickers for about a dollar if you cannot find any at the other discount stores. And if you cannot find themed pail and shovels I would just add few stickers on the bucket to Disney it up.

It is fun doing goodie bags for a trip, but they sure can get expensive.

How about disposable cameras? I got DD's a 2 pack Kodak with a flash and 27 exposures for $8.

Ok-I'll stop spending your money know.

I have found a few things at the Dollar Store, such as pencils, little notepads, lollipops, ect. They never seem to be there regularly, but just one of those items I happen to come upon and they sell out quick, at least around here! Our Family Dollar store never seems to have any Disney stuff though!

Try any party place or party section at Target. You can get pencils, sticker and other fun items. I know Finding Nemo is big for birthdays now so maybe you can get some of those.

Thinking of doing the same for my kids for our trip in March. I think I am going to hav to strt shopping soon, though. We leave 7 weeks from today.:sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Thanks for all the great ideas! Didn't think of the dollar stores. I don't shop much and I always forget to check those places out.

I was going the say Big Lots, too.

Another place to look, is simply every where you go. The grocery store, the hardware store. Everyone loves Disney. Some the the best things I've found we in strange places. Not at all Disney related type places.

Home Depot has the Monsters Inc flashlights. I saw the somewhere else recently too. (Sorry, I can't remember now.)

The local drug store here have fun plastic straws with nemo, Dora and Spunge Bob. I know Spunge Bob isn't Disney, but you get the idea.

At the Disney store in Canada I found glider planes. Okay that was Disney, but I set them aside for stockings and I've never seen them at our Disney store.

I know for one of our trips I found Disney related merchandise at the grocery store in the book/kid/office supply sections and on the end caps.

Good luck to you and have a great time putting it all together. Be sure to let us know what you find!

for Disney Pez dispensers. My kids love to collect these and there are always quite a few characters to choose from.

I have found some nice Disney Store items marked 50-75% off at Tuesday Morning.

I was at Target today, and there were a lot of Disney items in the toy section.

Dollar Tree usually has a lot of Disney stuff.

You can use the 40% off Michael's coupons to get Disney stickers, photo albums, candy, etc.

Our local Wal-Mart currently has sunscreen, flavored chapstick, and misty fans on clearance.

Have fun shopping.

I found this posted on the budget board. You could get them a subscription to the Disney Magazine for only $5.95.
