We don't have a fireplace, therefore no mantel. Need some ideas on where to hang our stockings so Santa can find them ;)

I tie ours onto the staircase. Seems to work fine, then we take them down to fill them on Xmas Eve and leave them under the tree.

My mom always hung ours on our doorknobs so we could play with what was nin them for a while and it bought Mom & Dad some extra sleep time. I do the same for my girls but not on the doorknob as there are 2 girls in the room - I have command hooks on the doors. Plus my Grandmom has a small jingle bell on each of the girls stockings so we can hear them.

My Mom hung ours off the entertainment center. We hang our kids' on the wall.

We hang ours around a double door facing in the family room. My mom always hung them around the archway from our living room to the dining room and it's just like that.

We have a split entry and I hang ours in the stairway with extra stockings and garland to fill out the wall. On Xmas we pull them down and fill them.

we have a cast iron type of stocking wrack. It came from rite aid last year, it holds six stocking. Looks almost like a fireplace screen.

We put ours on a bookshelf in our living room... we just use the basic stocking holder things on a shelf and the stockings sit in front of the books. :)

We have a cutout shelf opening type thing from our entryway looking into the living room...ours are hanging there.

Last year in our house in England, we didn't have any place to hang them so we hung them off a bookshelf. We did that in our house before that as well.

Our appartment has a built-in entertainment center in the living room. DW & I used that area to hang our stockings. We hammered a couple of standard issue straight pins in to hang the stockings on, and they hang very well. DW is also the crafty type, and made many other "display only" (well, one was a stocking made for me one year, but it's display now) stockings over the years, and they are hung above the door to our lanai, also with hammared-in straight pins as the support. If I can find pictures, I'll post them later.

Mine are currently sitting in a box because i don't know where to put them ... and putting holes in the wall makes me wanna cry.

That's why we go w/ the straight pins...they leave practically no noticable hole.

We've got ladderback chairs in our dining room and one big family stocking. It's hung on one of the knobs (for lack of a better word) on the top of a chair.

If you want to hang them on a wall, the 3m command hooks work well. They don't leave a mark if you put them up/take them down properly. In college, we always hung ours from the entertainment center.

We hang ours on the handrail of the staircase.

I have a fireplace mantle, but the stocking is so heavy, that no stocking hanger will hold it. I can't give it up, because it's a plush Pluto-head stocking that came from WDW.
