OT: Where do you hang your stockings - no fireplace?

We never used the fireplace in our old house so it wasn't a "must" for us when picking out a new house, but last year when it was time to put out the decorations, i didn't know what to do with the stockings. We do have a storage shelving unit in the living room. I just used that with the stocking holders and it has worked fine.
On Xmas Eve, we hang them from a doorknob, just as we did in our other house, because the stocking holders are not strong enough to hold everything that Santa left in the stockings.

I bought these star hooks from the craft department in WalMart. I painted them red, and put them on the wall.

After they are filled, the stockings go on the floor infront of the Christmas tree to show where each child's pile of presents is.
