I work in a retail store, very big in customer service, and i have 2 visible piercings. when i am talking to parents, i often have kids ask me about them, "what is that?". i am wondering what parents would like me to say to their little ones about this. i have often told them that "it is a piece of jewelry", but just feel odd, as their parents may not want an explanation to their children from me. any advice would be great! TIA.
You are fine. If you were saying it was a symbol of, oh, I don't know, my rebellion against the established status quo or something, I would rather they not hear it from you, but "It's a piece of jewelry"? Who could that offend?
