OT: what kind of accomodations for As?

I have noticed with my AS son, that stress or uncertainty contributes to the obsessive issues and the zoning out. He's been working on his obsessive issues outside with a psycologist. Spent a lot of time learning relaxation strategies. He's starting to use them himself, with prompts from myself or the teacher, though getting DH into the program hasn't been easy!

We had a tough month to start the year as our elementary schools were redistricted. He took about 2 months to really feel comfortable, but the sped teacher got a lot of advice from the one at our old school(she is amazed at how fast he would answer her emails). He had a couple of meltdowns, but managed to get A's & B's first quarter.

Guess we have been lucky, as our old school had a AS student a couple years older than my son. The new school has a lot of experience with AS students. According to the senior 4th grade teacher, this is the fourth year they have had an AS student.

He's actually making friends, he won't admit to it, but his teacher emails me about 2x per month and let's us now how things are going in class. He's actually being friendly and helpful to other students.
