OT-What does YOUR username mean?

I'm a (volunteer) tour guide at Seashore Trolley Museum in Kennebunkport Maine. Sometimes I get to drive the cars.

Guest: Do you work for Disney?
Me (wearing guest of honor badge): Not yet.

We have a car from the horse drawn streetcar era. I have never seen it in use at the museum with a (hired) horse although I have seen one photograph.

Sometimes I slip in a Jungle Cruise style joke but they won't let me tell a lot of those because it would not be in keeping with the historical atmosphere they want to present.

I was obviously moved by Walt's quote at the end of Meet the Robinsons. I thought it was very profound and interpreted it to mean that no matter what happens, you keep moving forward, looking to the new paths and experiences ahead...don't look back with regrets or questions...the best is yet to come.:dance3:

It is the name of my first adopted Mustang, Tacoma and then we live on a ranch which is named after her.

A wonderful lady in her 80's that I know gave me my name. She is Brazilian and her english is choppy. So don't know if her explanation of it is true or not. But every time she would hug me she would call me her fofinia. And that it meant my hugs reminded her of a favorite soft pillow that you kept cradled in your arms at night or when you were sad. I felt touched that she felt that way about me. So I use it all the time.

My name is.... an evolution, going back to 7th grade French class.

Don't know if they still do this, but when I was taking foreign language in middle school and high school, they had us "pick a French name" which was what we went by in class. I picked Odile because it was the only "O" name on the list. No reason why O was special, it was just the only one that started with O.

I then used that name when I was volunteering at a local summer camp later in high school, where we used "camp names". I was used to responding to it, and it was unique.

Not long after that (late high school and early college) the internet invaded my life. In a predominently English text environment, Odile wasn't a good choice since it's actually pronounced "O-deal". So I picked the next best thing - Odetta. Odetta was quickly shortened to Odie.

The "dame" part comes from a very geekish tradition based around the fan group of my favorite book series... basically, during our yearly gathering the author will sent people out on a "quest" for a certain kind of food, usually tied to some kind of regional speciality. Those who successfully complete the quest get knighted. A silly thing, but fun! Very often just plain-Odie is taken on message boards like this, so that makes it easier and more unique. Here's a link that explains more. It hasn't been updated for 2006 yet, mostly because I've been too darn busy to design a pink poodle rampant! (I designed the other crests on that page, for the other years. :cool2:)

And now you know! And knowing is half the battle.

My sympathies to you! :) We can relate! I scheduled us all to have dinner with the Princesses (:scared1: ) during our upcoming trip (we leave Sunday:banana: )...got to have a little interaction with the princesses! I have seen a few other usernames which seem to indicate lots of boys...perhaps we need a support group pirate:

When DD was first getting into Princesses, she was in love with Snow White. She still is in awe of her, although she claims Snow White is no longer her favorite. So, when choosing a name, I went through several tries before I got one that worked. :cutie:

Mine is a combination of pet's names from when I was a kid, (I've been using this name for years) (Oli)ver & (Quig)ley.

I love Disney and I have 2 sets of twins so I combined the two together.

2 sets of twins? you are a busy person. My grandmother had 2 sets of twins and a set a triplets. My mom was one of the triplets, so each time I was pregnant my Dh would ask the Dr. How many are in there!?:rotfl: Just 1 each time.

Oh and the name, I love fairies and I'm a Maiden by birth.

Love all the stories behind the names. :goodvibes A lot of people see the plates on my truck and ask what is means, and I never though of what else it could mean until one lady said: Are you a worked mom ,a wicked mom ,or a whacked mom, and i told her it depended on the day of the week !!!!!!!!:rotfl:

Well I'm a Momma (of 4) and I'm short and round like Pooh (lol) and the numbers *edited*.

Blessed Be,
Tina

When I was in college our University had banned Greek Fraternities and Sororities pretty much from its inception. Instead Social Service Clubs were formed to take the place of the Greeks.

My club was Camelot, based on the traditions of King Arthur etc. Anyway, when one becomes a knight they recieve a lineage title based on who your sponser was and his line. So when I joined Camelot I became Sir Forest of Bedgrayne XL (the fortieth) shortened to bedgraynexl on the boards.:wizard:

It has been a handy handle for me on many boards, because pretty much no one else would use it, unless they went to my school.

:yoda: :darth: :chewy: My son saw the Star Wars Smilies and asked me to put them into this post
