OT-What are the Nin. Wii necessities??

Hey guys! I'm purchasing a Nintendo Wii for our summer day camp at church. I have NO CLUE about these machines and need to know what I "need" to let the kids enjoy this while at day camp! I'm sure of you have kiddos that own the Wii and thought you may have some great insight! Please share!! Also, if you know a estimated cost on the items include that! I've check with WalMart, Target and Best Buy. Best buy has a "Wii with Sports" for 299.99. Our WM and Target do not have them at the time but I can order some of the stuff online! HELP!!

I believe that all Wii Consoles come with Wii Sports. It only comes with one controller, which means you'll definately need to buy at least one more additional controller. You can get "Wii Play" which comes with 9 games and an additional controller for around $50. You will also want to get a recharging dock because those controllers go through reg. batteries quick. Then, obviously, you need games. It does come with 3-4 games (wii sports games) to begin with but those get boring quickly! We have Carnival Games and LOT it.

For a summer camp, you may be able to get by with Wii Sports and a few extra controllers. The individual games do not last too long so they will be able to share it easily. You could even set up a tournament. Mariokart would be another great option.

Something like Mario Galaxy only 1 player can play at a time and they could be hogging the Wii for hours.

Also, buy lots of rechargeable batteries or a docking station. You will fly through normal batteries.

We just got our Wii and we haven't bought anything additional yet. We decided to rent games from hollywood video first and if we like it we can buy it. We are loving Mario summer olympics. It can keep you busy for hours. We definietly need another controller. The Wii play sounds like a great dea since the controller are like $40 each already. My dd may use some of her money to buy that. I would like the Wii Fit that just came out.

We bought the basic system plus Wii Play with the extra controller. I just wanted to tell anyone who already has a Wii that Nintendo also has an offer out there for free protective sleeves for the controller you might be interested in.

We got some for ours and they have a special cushion built into the end to help protect the controller if they are dropped. They offer more cushioning than than the ones you can buy in the stores. And they're free too, so you can't beat that!

For every extra Wiimote you pickup, also remember that you may need to pickup an extra nunchuck controller ($20) depending on the game. No need to buy a classic controller since I doubt you'll be downloading any of the virtual console games. If you pickup Guitar Hero III ($90), I think you can now buy the extra guitar controller, but it's quite pricey at $70. Some good multiplayer games are Warioware Smooth Moves, Super Smash Brothers Brawl, Mario Strikers Charged, Lego Star Wars, and Mario Kart Wii which are all $50.
